I can't see taking interior OL in the first. 1st round is for WR, DE, CB where elite speed and twitchy athleticism can best be found. Fine with Rd 2 and after. 1st round also for securing a player on a 5 (vs 4) year rookie contract. That all shifts a bit if there isn't the value in the position when you pick. For late picks, give me raw athletes and coach them up. No Luke Tenutas. Also, I'm not impressed by the G/T combo player thing so much. Completely fine with a guy that is strictly a guard/center and knows his role. 6'7" but gets blown up does nothing for me.

Stefon Diggs - “I watched the game five times”
In Summary replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Let's get an OL, WR2, and less of the "chuck it" offense. Winning will make Mr. Diggs happy again -
Sean is not a bad coach, just a bad fit for this team and era

Next year McDermott needs to spell a few things out to Dorsey who needs to spell a few things out to Josh. Not the time for hands off coaching and being grab-ass beer buddies. This of course after Beane brings in WR, OL and Pegula tells McDermott to be better at playing the young talent. Now I'm just rambling. -
Daboll/Hodgins - Does their success bother you?
In Summary replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Doesn't bother me. If it sheds light on Bills organizational problems then that's useful. -
Locked on Bills for overall. Cover 1 for more detailed discussions. I liked Sal but he's become too close to the Bills and no longer can be objective.

The truth rarely lies at the extremes. Some take great offense at ANY criticism of Josh, Edmunds, coaches, etc. - kind of like a simp defending their expensive OnlyFans girlfriend. Others sit in a perpetual hate pit and want everyone gone - nobody has any redeeming qualities. With practice, you learn to skip the posts or replies from the chronic offenders.

Arguably, you're committing to 8 starting level D linemen to play this rotational scheme while at the same time you only have 4 starting level O linemen.

Bills now no longer have 2 fifths but one fifth and one sixth

Hines has 5th round value IMO. Stabilizes the return man position plus he adds big play potential. Can also play real snaps at RB. -
If Frazier returns, how much will your enthusism die?
In Summary replied to The Red King's topic in The Stadium Wall
McDermott can talk about growth mindset, but it also needs to apply to defensive coaching be that McDermott, Frazier, or both. If Leslie simply said, "There will be adjustments in our defensive philosophy. We need to be more flexible to counter the offense in front of us on any given play. We recognize that our zone concepts and style of play can be exploited at times - especially if we're being stubborn. The Cincinnati game was a prime example." That would help my enthusiasm. -
Our opinions plus a dollar bill can be traded for four quarters. If the game were about predicting what the Bills would do, then I think we have enough history to do that reasonably well.

I'd just plan for Morse to be out next year then build accordingly.

Franchise in trouble- Josh Allen has regressed

Josh may really like Dorsey, but Daboll was his svengali. -
With Oliver Value Goes Beyond the Stat Line
In Summary replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
If Oliver doesn't get to the QB or pressure, especially with Jones to open him up, then he's just an undersized tackle. -
Surprised Pegula doesn't step in and tell Beane/McDermott/Dorsey that he will not have his QB shortening his career to cover for offensive inadequacies.

For one day, you are the Boss: what you do ?

I'd tell Dorsey he's Josh's coach, not his buddy. No longer will the offense be an ad hoc downfield passing offense only. Get control. Use your personnel. Then I'd apologize for not giving him a credible OL. -
Your Offseason Upgrades to the OLine
In Summary replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills need their draft picks, and they need them to hit so they can have starters on rookie contracts. Fantasy/reckless to trade away high draft picks for expensive free agents you can't afford. Bills need to draft a rookie OL and learn how to play him. Other teams do. Bills effectively need at least two interior OL given that Morse is a high concussion risk. Center too important to just have a backup that can only shotgun snap it. They could replace both guards and center in an attempt to improve and get younger and I'd totally be OK with that. Get better guards and your tackles look better. Give Brown a full summer to heal and recover and I think he's better next year. Perhaps most importantly, figure out what your offense and blocking scheme are and what players you need to execute them. I don't feel OL coach, OC, and head coach had that together. Do we go 90's dolphins and look for pass blocking only? Do we want at least one side of the line to be capable gap blocking guys who can move DTs when needed? Why was Teller thought so little of and who assessed him as low value? -
Agree. Had Diggs gone down for a couple games, this would be more obvious.
-
She will goad him into playing more and taking the most money possible. Great eagerness on her part to point out he'll be a free agent. Dude deserves a few months off of nothing but healing and relaxation.
-
Diggs is a WR. Kinda goes with the position. At least he's not indifferent.
-
Morse is so concussion ridden I wouldn't count on him next season either. Can't have 2-3 games where you have a backup you don't trust to snap the ball to QB under center. Love Morse, but his time is near IMO.

1/22/23 GAMEDAY THREAD Divisional Playoffs Bills vs. Bengals
In Summary replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yea. Jones is my favorite defensive player. Quiet difference maker. -
Maybe the most we can expect is for Jax to play a physical game and beat up KC a bit.

When the Bills need 8, Josh goes for 30. It's who they are.
