I dont know about that. I havent read anything so far that said he was playing at a high level. I kept reading WRs like Coleman making plays against him and Bishop repeatedly. Again im not watching reps from training camp and if he wasn't good enough to take starters reps Im sure he wouldn't be with the #1 defense. Guys can come back from the injuries he has had. It would be a great comeback story if he can play at even an adequate level all year.

I'm not one to give McD or Beane too much credit, but its not fair to criticize him for thinking Davis was going to turn into a solid #2. Yes he had drop issues but after that KC playoff game almost everyone thought he was going to be a star. He was developing nicely into a big play WR despite having elite speed. He made some very difficult catches even if he dropped some easy one. He got Shakir probably a round later than when he was projected. Also the White injury and the failure of Daryl Williams to keep playing RT at a high level meant he had to spend additional draft capital on CB and OL.

Great news... Now the reality of White as a starter sinks in... Truly hope he regains some of his form and is at least not as bad as Douglas was last year.

Beane can't catch a break lately

He was on PUP list and probably won't be back to play any time soon Moss was nothing like Singletary. Moss is actually closer to Ray Davis. Davis looks better so far in his limited work last year. Davis while being bigger looks more elusive and faster than Moss ever was.

Interesting article. I think he overvalues some QBs. I would not give up two first round picks for Hurts or Caleb Williams. I wouldn't give up a first for Purdy either. I wouldn't give up a first round pick for Rousseau if I was another team but if a team offered a top 20 pick I would take it and let Rousseau go. I doubt it would work for salary cap issues but I'd take my chances with another top 20 DE draft pick on a rookie deal. I think Brown could be allpro level RT. If his back is ok it would take more than a first round pick for me to let him go. I know he is not a LT but for me the distinction is not that big of a deal. I love how he values Allen. If you played the hypothetical of his wife demanding he move to LA and he demanded a trade or hexwoudl retire, what would the compensation be. If the Vegas Raiders offered 3 first and 3 second round picks amd you had to trade him that still might not be enough. Hes better than Watson ever was and I think Watson got 3 firsts and a couple seconds. Maybe a team like Minnesota that was capable of winning it all now would make some insane offer like 4 first round picks. I know it won't ever happen but its fun to speculate what it would actually take.

Interesting comment! There are some truly great QBs with only one win including Young, Favre, Dawson, Stabler, and Brees. Josh is on a trajectory to be better than all of them, but that will take a Lombardi win and some longevity.

You arent worried about Spencer Brown's back? That is the most concerning to me given he is not at practice yet and he has history of back issues.

Remember he played OLB for Bills when he was first drafted. He didn't move to inside until after they traded for Biscuit later during his rookie year. He slowed down considerably as the pounding took its toll. He only played two full seasons out of 9 (6 with Bills), missing time due to injuries in all the other seasons of his career.

The story said his bladder was removed. So that means he has one or two ileal conduits that drain his kidneys to a bag(s) on his abdomen. That sucks. Many bladder cancers can be treated with just removing the tumor from inside the bladder. If they removed his bladder that means the tumor had invaded the bladder wall/muscle. Hopefully it has not metastasis to bone. Bladder cancer is much much more common in smokers. Dont know id he was a smoker or not. There is also a familial predisposition for bladder cancer as well.

Yeah I,agree. His dad needed to find better QB coach several years ago. Perhaps that is a good sign that he can still get better.

Browns QB situation is actually worse than it was before. Pickett is out with an injured hamstring. Sanders was 4th string and on some reps wasn't even throwing to other players. He was throwing to coaches as the WRs had already finished their reps Today he got no first string reps but apparently went 9/9 with 2TDs with sevond team

Sadly this is spot on. I really thought Knox was going to be great. A 3 year extension at a much lower price would be perfect for Bills. But at his age he is probably looking for one last decent sized signing bonus. Maybe Buffalo meets him half way and they lower the price but make the first two years fully guaranteed. After Allen, Knox and Cook are my favorite players and decent chance both will be gone next season.

Good take I just hope the only reason Coleman looks good is not because he is beating White and Bishop all over the field. Dude. Relax. Its just a message board. Its not life and death.

Beane messed up paying Bernard and not Cook. No reason to sign Bernard to a long term deal. He had a down year last year and its still unclear if he can stay healthy long term at his size. I rarely defend McD but he's proven he can mostly plug and play a young MLB in his defense. 100% agree with Benford, Shakir, Brown, and Rousseau deals. Those were all very good deals for both Bills and the players. If you want to be super cut throat you franchise Cook next year and then let him walk. Sadly Im afraid it may come down to two contracts for my favorite players - Knox and Cook. Knox is going to need to take a massive paycut to stay.

This is moslty accurate. 3 STs is really PK, P, and LS so it leaves off gunner and return guy. They have never carried 8 DL and I was pilloried earlier this summer for suggesting they go light on DL until the PED cheats come back. I agree 5 LBs seems about right. I honestly would be happy with 6 WR and let Shakir field punts. Codrington can't play defense and kick and punt return is not that critical. Gunner is probably the most important 4th special team player. Hopefully one of the rookies can sieze that spot. Lastly I think they keep an extra DB as I suggested earlier this Spring. They have huge question marks all over the defensive backfield if you include Benford's concussion history. Id keep an extra DB and an extra safety. Really like the kid Hancock out of Ohio State as a guy that can challenge Lewis as the third safety. Honestly though I have not heard a single thing about him since draft day.
