Your very true feelings for tomorrow outcome
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Italian Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
2% worried about a bad run defense and Allen not at 100%. Add that worry to the fact a plane ticket to Boston was $1100 I decided to stay home and watch. McD must shore up the run defense. This is an absolute must win situation if they want a shot at the AFC East winner. Bills 27 Pats 9 -
Milano is one of the best weak side linebackers in the NFL if not the best. Bernard is everything Edmunds was not and I'm elated that so far he has proved me wrong. Hopefully he can stand up to the pounding with Jones out. Williams is raw and the speed is there for sure. Ideally he gets better each week. But he will make mistakes. Hopefully the safeties can make up for it.

Epenesa is terrible in run game.

NFL wants to eliminate "hip drop" tackles
Ethan in Cleveland replied to BaaadThingsMan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Those legal hits aren't gone from today's game. The taunting afterwards is a penalty though -
Gotcha I wasn't paying attention to the time. Agree it is very unlikely to occur. The cap would be a challenge but I think Bills would only be on the hook for a prorated portion of his salary this year. Of course his contract would explode the cap next year but you could cut him after they win the SuperBowl. DHop is a thought. Hasn't done much in Tenn. though.

The issue is not Davis. The issue is lack of production from the slot pass catcher whoever that is. Davis is a home run threat with big YPC. They need a true underneath threat to force the Linebackers and corners to play the short zone. That leaves Davis to carve up the safeties like he did against KC in the playoff game.

Are people really that unhappy with our 4-2 Bills?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cmon OP Look beyond the record and give us some grace Our franchise savior shat the bed on national TV and lost to Zach Wilson with a fourth quarter lead. The team is decimated with injuries to some of the most important and popular players. They needed a referre gift and horrific clock management from the Giants to get a win. They have played one game of beautiful football against an elite opponent and it was amazing to watch. Other than that it has been a grind emotionally. If they can stack together a few more wins here in the coming weeks, Von starts to look better, and the offense finds a rhythm the mood will improve. -
Excellent post. The eyeball test says the OL is better to me and I suspect to you as well. We know the offense started hot last year and slowed. It's been up and down all year so far. Jets, Jags, and Giants was bad. Versus Dolphins was unstoppable. I still have faith in Allen. Dorsey and Knox are dead to me until they prove me wrong.

IF Allen Tried to Force His Way Out of Buffalo...
Ethan in Cleveland replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall
Name one other scenario where a NFL player left to be with a specific coach. I've never heard that happen once. Players may want to leave a specific coach but I can't think of anyone that forced a trade or being releases to join another team because of a coach. This is not the NBA. NFL players have no leverage and NFL teams have to deal with a real salary cap. What you are describing is not a thing in the NFL. In fact it is the opposite, NFL trams jettison aging or injured players well before their contract is up. -
In retrospect, was letting McKenzie go a mistake?

Shakir should be the primary slot guy when it's not Kincaid. -
He's a backup now? What else do you want me to call him? He wouldn't start over Rousseau, Floyd, or a healthy Miller. That is DE#4.

The biggest blunder of the game IMO
Ethan in Cleveland replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
I said in the moment they should have gone for two. There was enough time and Giants had enough TOs they could have had two drives (they did) and could have kicked two FGs to win. 6 pt lead means two FGs is a tie. In the end I really don't know that there is a right or wrong decision there. -

I dont fault that one on McD. You can defend or critique either way. At some point the players have to play. Bass is good. He should not be 50% on FG attempts even from 50+. He missed right on the first one and didn't correct. He had plenty of distance. Just as Knox needs to make that catch Bass needs to make that kick. For the record, I said in the moment to punt it but I was ok with the FG attempt too. -
Let him walk. This team can't afford to pay backups. There is no cap room for that. They are going to have to extend Rousseau soon. And they have Miller under contract for a couple more years. Let Davis, White, Poyer, Lawson, and Epenesa go this offseason. Hopefully extend Jones. If Dawkins keeps playing this well I'd extend him now and free up some cap space to make a move for a WR before the deadline. He's played good football. Far better than last year. Draft WR,OT, Safety, DL in first four rounds.

It was holding and DPI. Honestly it was way worse than the previous call against Bernard. I thought they could have let the Bernard one go. Got lucky
-
He's a top 4 WR in the league. The rest of the WR group is average or worse. Forcing the ball to Diggs is what allowed them to use him as a decoy on the go ahead TD. He's a beast and you should keep feeding him the ball.

I thought you could make a case for Williams getting tossed. That hit and knockdown of Brown was way after the initial scrum. As for Thibodaux I also thought that was close, but it looked like Dawkins was holding his leg up too. So not a straightforward kick. In the end it just took too long. Oh and Josh grow up. WTF are you doing???? Oline protect QBs not the other way around. Your shoulder is worth more than the entire rest if the team.
