  1. I know but he really doesn't do any of those things well. Can you recall a single great block he made last year? Sure he is better than Sweeney but that is not saying much. I would have used the cap space on a veteran CB and the roster spot for depth on the OL.
  2. I just don't see the value for the position. Nor do I see him being that good at FB to warrant anything but league minimum. Maybe we will see more this year. I would not carry a FB and would either use Moss or a backup TE at FB if it was needed. Like others said another overpay for special teams. I would have rather seen that money used on a veteran CB.
  3. WTF...useless position that he isn't even good at. Waste of precious cap space.
  4. Great thread Its Karlos Williams for me. His rookie year was not as good as Terry Miller's but his flame out was far more spectacular. Just read a little more about Miller. He finished 2nd in Heisman voting to Earl Campbell and this past January was elected into college football hall of fame.
  5. Very cool story. I don't have any outside of football interactions with Bills' players stories. But I have several with Ohio State players before they went into NFL and a great Jim Harbaugh in Amsterdam story! Full disclosure I thought about a poll but there were just too many names to list...
  6. I was born in 1970. I dont have much memory of the 1970's teams. My first real football memories are from the 1980 season. I was 10 so I didn't follow the off the field stuff for a while. My earliest memories of that kind of stuff was Tom Cousineau not signing with the Bills ( though I probably only learned about it when the trade in 1983 with Cleveland went down), Gary Anderson not making the team, and Cribbs leaving for the USFL - he and Butler were my favorite players then. I know some of the major highlights pre-1980 but somehow missed out on these future stars almost being Bills.
  7. Agree with the OP. Go get a veteran CB. McD has had White start every game until his injury. Those saying they can coach up a low round pick, that was true because they had an All-Pro on the other side. Signing a veteran allows them to put White on the PUP list and bring him back mid-season.
  8. That is what Wiki said. Ohio State Buckeye
  9. Trade....error. Brain fart. As others pointed out below he was a waiver wire pickup Could have been an all time great but as you pointed out he was UFA.
  10. While looking up draft classes, I stumbled upon some Bills history I did not know. How many knew in 1964 the Bills drafted both Carl Eller and Paul Warfield? Neither would sign with the Bills. Eller was drafted by Minnesota and Warfield by Cleveland and both chose NFL over AFL. Both of course would go on to be inducted into HOF. Eller is a top 20 DE of all time. I had no idea both these players could have been Bills.
  11. With Gabe Davis looking like a solid #2 WR and taken at #128, it got me thinking about best value picks in Bills history. Andre Reed in the 4th has to be #1 but their are some other interesting names. A quick scan of Bills draft history I found several good to great late round picks: Matt Milano 5th Stevie Johnson 7th round Jay Riemersma 7th Mark Maddox 9th Charles Rome 12th Marcus Patton 8th Carlton Bailey 9th Howard Ballard 11th Mark Pike 7th Who am I missing?
  12. No thanks. I would rather try to coax Sanders out of retirement. Just swap snaps from last year with Davis the #2 and Sanders your #4.
  13. Is Lawson one of those guys that never looks good in practice but is better in games? He could not beat out PED Murphy in practice but outplayed him in the real games. I think I had Lawson making the roster over Epenesa but that may be in jeopardy. Still think they should have kept Hughes. I'd trade Epenesa for Hughes right now. I had Moss making the final 53 and Sweeney not. It does seem odd but there is no doubt it went away. Much more emphasis on getting the distance and hang time correct than the direction. One would think it is easier to defend the punt return if they pin the ball to one side of the field.
  14. Agree. He is done. Had a slim chance to make the roster anyways. This gives him a year to get better.
  15. That sucks. I got my bench back up to 255 and then my elbow flared up. Doing ice and ibuprofen right now. And pinot noir...
  16. I'm dealing with same thing, but only for a month so far. Hurts most when I fully extend the arm, particularly noticable reaching for my wine glass....lol
  17. 100% agree. And to his credit, Josh never used youth excuse. He simply said I'm sorry and has done nothing but be a stand up guy ever since.
  18. Fair enough. I didn't like the Oliver selection at the time but he is getting better every year. I cant push back on average starter label, but by the end of this year I think he will be in a higher status, but no where near Donald.
  19. Fortunately my kids grew out of Edwards, Manuel, and Pozluszny.... They were young during the worst of the drought years. They were donated to the Goodwill
  20. No motivation. We loved Jim Kelly and cheered and wished him the best through his cancer, but by all reports he was not a faithful husband. I cheered for Biscuit and one of my fondest memories was his first game against Elway. He ended up being accused of sexual assault of a minor. Just a cautious reminder that our heroes can break our hearts.
  21. Agree. Baker Mayfield has funny commercials but I have not read anything one way or another on what he is like as a person. Agreed. Honestly he is the perfect QB for us to root for and we are the perfect fan base for him.
  22. And several with the n word https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.si.com/.amp/nfl/2018/04/26/nfl-draft-josh-allen-apologizes-tweets
  23. This is an interesting appeal. From what I read the appeal can only look at the evidence already presented, and that was only 5 cases even though there are at least 24 people that have come forward. Most people feel the suspension should be longer. If it is increased substantially then the NFLPA probably files suit to block it, even though it looks like the NFL is following the process laid out in the CBA. Hope he gets a full year.
