Honestly, the longer he lingered in the NFL as their starting QB, the better it was for the Bills and anyone else vying for power in the AFC. The Steelers have been in need for a re-boot for several years now. I wish he had dragged his career out another year or 2. I suspect the team told him he was finished so that was not an option--hence the retirement announcement a few games ago.

I felt like this was the only real threat for losing Frazier, and now he's survived that. It's now sounding like Daboll goes to Miami. If he clears THAT, we may end up retaining both of these guys--which is OK. Keeping everyone for another run is a solid path.

I simply would NOT hire a defensive guy as my head coach in the modern NFL, period. He's still a quality guy though.

Do you want KC to cruise to the Super Bowl title?
Nextmanup replied to Charles Romes's topic in The Stadium Wall
And then there are teams/organizations that are PERMANENTLY wandering in the wilderness that Bills fans know all too well, with no shot at even having a heart breaking loss! The Detroit Lions come to mind. Not sure how they actually still have a fanbase. -

Sports of all kinds are filled with repeating champions and dynasties! Dallas beat us 2 years in a row in the SB. Mahomes is going to end up with probably 5 SBs before he's done, maybe more. Unless he get seriously hurt. -
Daboll and Frazier....have they run their course here?!?
Nextmanup replied to Sweats's topic in The Stadium Wall
Suggesting our defense is "soft" and needs to be "hard" (?) is misguided and forty years outdated. If the OP thinks a different OC would dial up a game plan with much less "Allen" he is also misguided. There is a reason why the Patriots went to 10 Super Bowls and won 7 of them with Tom Brady, and it wasn't due to their constantly changing supporting cast on offense and defense during that time. 🤦♂️ -
Herbert has the raw size/skill/talent to upset that, if the Chargers as an organization can put the right sort of team around him. At least he could now and again upset it. And don't count out Lamar Jackson and Baltimore, though they had a bad year this year. Then there's Joe Burrow and the Bengals on the rise. I agree the AFC championship game will likely feature 2 elite QBs for the next decade. You also never know about seeding. Look at us this year---probably should have played in the AFCCG, but didn't, b/c we ran into the Chiefs early on. Could have gone the other way too, and then the Chiefs wouldn't have been in the AFCCG.

Maybe the mayor should present McDermott with a bill for $100 million. 🤔

Nathaniel Hackett is getting 2nd interview with Jags🤣🤣
Nextmanup replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
When I first heard of this, I thought "Hackett? That kid was in WAY over his head. Maybe he has gotten a LOT better since his time with the Bills." I don't really know how much his skill has progressed or not progressed. I think he appeals simply b/c of his age, if you are the sort of non-conventional person looking to go outside the box with your hire. I personally LOVE the idea of hiring a next-generation whiz kid who is ahead of the game. The problem is Nate Hackett ain't that guy. 🤣 -
Fangio is one of the all time greats! His performance at the '57 German GP will be remembered forever! Sign him! 😁

It's too early to really get into any of this, but next year's schedule doesn't look good or favorable to me at all! The hard games are brutal---we could lose all of them. Also, Miami is not nearly as bad as you are rating them, and next year is a new season. We don't know what they'll look like yet or who their QB will even be, etc.
-
I don't necessarily disagree with a lot of what you are writing here, but Mahomes also had a bum foot/ankle in the SB last year, and did not have that against us last Sunday. Strength of opponent does suggest that our rating was inflated this year. I agree.

Are you talking about Haslett coming here as LB COACH or DC?

Without question, Gugny, you are going to want one of these babies from German company Beilhack. The problem is you will need to build train tracks on your property and you will destroy your neighbor's houses on either side, so they'll probably be mad at you. But just watch this thing clear snow!

First couple episodes of Euphoria on HBO, Season 2, are now out. I LOVE this show--check it out if you haven't watched it. -
This might be favorite PD in the country now. Lakewood, CO Police Chief Dan McCasky

HC should be offensive minded in every situation. Having a defense guy as the HC is flat out the wrong way to go. Why? B/C if the offensive genius in the house is plucked away to a HC job, you have to start over--which might well be the Bills this season. If the offensive guy is your HC, he'll never be plucked away. And offense is WAY more important than defense in the modern NFL.
-
In that fashion? Yes, we probably are the first team. That was epic levels of collapse. Inexcusable levels of collapse.
-
It's not so much just the kick, but the defense that was played after. I don't think fans realize how epically bad that stuff was. Like firing bad IMO. The kick is part of it.

Who is the best pass rusher we can get or available via trade
Nextmanup replied to Fred Slacks's topic in The Stadium Wall
Please point out when an edge rusher "changed a game." They don't and it's why blowing two first round picks on one would be foolish. -
Ken Dorsey - would he choose OC here or leave to be Daboll's OC?
Nextmanup replied to Heavy Kevi's topic in The Stadium Wall
Because he'd be promoted to OC (under the hypothetical) and that's a move up the ladder? -
As much as Sabres vs. Senators game in an empty arena is a total nothing-burger, I actually enjoyed this game. It was quite chippy at times and I got a huge kick out of Dell's semi-cheap shot on Drake Batherson...knocked him out of the game with that. The funny thing is that when these types of things happen in the NHL now, nothing really happens, other than a big hug fest. Why? There is no one on the rosters anymore to do anything about it. What a shame.

He probably was, but he's still utterly replaceable.

Urban Meyer - "Worst experience in my professional life“
Nextmanup replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not sure. I think a certain type of fan tanks following the sideshows of the league is somehow funny or entertaining.
