NFL Week #18 - Around the NFL Saturday edition
Nextmanup replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Along the same lines, is it possible the Chiefs will be psychologically distracted or somehow off their game thinking that they don't want to get the #1 seed in this manner? I doubt it, but what the heck! I'll hope so at least until the game is over. -
It seems like a bit of a faux pas to throw the Billdo at a Patriots team not being quarterbacked by Tom Brady. That Bildo was all for Tom, wasn't it? 🤷♂️

I don't remember our game being 7 minutes. I think it ended with about 5 minutes left in the 2nd quarter.

NFL Week #18 - Around the NFL Saturday edition
Nextmanup replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Raiders can DEFINITELY win this game. I'm looking forward to this one as much as the Bills game tomorrow. -
Not only is that a huge difference, but just look at what our path could have been as the No. 1 seed! Or still could be with the KC loss! I've said this for years: the Super Bowl is, by far, the easiest championship to win in N. American team sports. That's really not a lot of football to propel yourself to a championship game. In contrast, it's almost impossible to win a Stanley Cup.

Never understood the fascination with eating extremely hot wings or food in general. Is this supposed to prove your manliness? All you are doing is blowing out your taste buds in the first few seconds such that you can't taste or enjoy ANYTHING for the rest of the evening. You can make anything as hot as you want it! Why you would go to extreme levels makes no sense.

What are your favorite Sports Documentaries?
Nextmanup replied to BillsPride12's topic in Off the Wall
Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel is a regular series on HBO, and is excellent. Each show is an hour and they usually have 3 or 4 segments on different stories. There's a documentary you can watch on Youtube about the Broad Street Bullies that I love, if we are talking about "feature film" documentaries. -
Weather will be good enough and I do believe the team will come out on an emotional tear. I suspect Josh will be way too tight to start, but will settle down, and then... We win 31-10

NFL Resolution to Adjust the AFC Playoffs- Poll
Nextmanup replied to Rocky Landing's topic in The Stadium Wall
I voted for a re-scheduling of the game. I know it's complicated, but it's not impossible. I think things could have been moved around with the elimination of the extra off week before the SB taking up the slack (which should be eliminated anyway). -
I think the Raiders/KC game is going to be close and a fun watch. I can't wait for it, to be honest.

Bills and Sabres both simultaneously on a 6-game winning streak
Nextmanup replied to Kaenon's topic in Off the Wall
January 6th and the Sabres are 6 points out of a playoff spot. Not sure they can do it this year, but they MIGHT. As long as they can keep it reasonably close, the rest of the year should be fun. -
I wouldn't trust it's "battery power". That thing will suck juice like crazy and the idea of NOT having it hardwired into the electrical system in the house is stupid. It's not THAT big a deal to hide a power cable inside the drywall.

I thought the thread would be the opposite, mentioning how sports betting/gambling is now taking over the realm of general sports media. Increasingly, "sports talk" is really "gambling talk" which I can't stand. I have zero interest in gambling, fantasy sports, or any of it, and it is NOT "sports" discussion. It's an off-shoot sub-topic, like "sport collectibles" which is another area I have zero interest in, despite being a huge sports fan. Anyway, I'm all in favor of the gambling folks having a thread to discuss gambling matters! Have at it.

If Chiefs win on Sat. does Bills/Pats game matter (much)?
Nextmanup replied to ProcessTruster's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's worth pointing out that any "neutral field" the Bills play on will in effect be a "home" field, or mostly home field, which could make a big difference in terms of communication on offense. KC and others have wonderful fan bases too, but no one is going to out-travel the Bills fanbase. Bills on a "neutral" field with maybe 60-70% Bills fans on hand is a big improvement over a straight up away game, especially at Arrowhead. -
Pick him up; could be fairly decent stand-in for Von in the playoff push. Dump him at end of season if it doesn't work.

Updated scenario for scheduling to be voted on Friday
Nextmanup replied to The 9 Isles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seeing as I have confidence we will beat NE on Sunday (we may kill them with the good news today), suddenly, the GAME OF THE YEAR seems to be KC vs. Raiders on Saturday! What Bills fan won't watch? 4:30pm! -
Peterman starting for the bears this Sunday
Nextmanup replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not sure if he's the worst of all time, but he should have easily played himself out of any backup or clipboard holding role by this point. The fact that he is still bouncing around is astounding. It's common in sports for people to somehow think a player will be different if they come play for ME. Rarely works, if ever. -
What if the Bills refuse to play the Patriots?
Nextmanup replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
The game is going to be played. I think there is an outside chance it get moves back, maybe to Monday night, but not much more than that. It will probably take place on Sunday at 1pm.
