  1. Inconvenience to the people who actually attend the game will be the absolute least of the NFL's concerns through this.
  2. I say we will play the Patriots this Sunday as planned. Almost for sure.
  3. That's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. With a crazy situation like this there is going to have to be slack that is picked up somewhere, by someone. You can't just wave a magic wand and "fix" the situation with zero ramifications.
  4. A game being stopped and postponed (at least as of now) or a player going into cardiac arrest and needing CPR on the field is unfortunately not unprecedented. Maybe it was for the NFL specifically. And as was mentioned, NO, WGR didn't do anything special after their post-game show signed off last night. They did, obviously, talk almost exclusively abut the injury for the entirety of the post game show.
  5. I would push the start of the playoffs back 1 weekend, with the Bills vs. Bengals being the sole NFL marquee matchup on that following weekend after the end of the regular season. Ratings will be phenomenal and there would be huge implications surrounding the winner with all the other games completed at that time, most likely. Then, absorb the pushed back week by only having ONE off weekend prior to the Super Bowl, instead of the usual, silly, two. That way you preserve the scheduling of the SB and the huge amounts of travel planning that must go into that for tons of people/entities. That's one of a BUNCH of ways you can handle this. It's not impossible.
  6. How many times have we watched players stretchered off the field only to have the game resumed in a minute or two? Not sure why people are so hard on the league here; I guess because it's a Bill. Christ, when Ryan Shaziar had his career ended, he was carted off the field unable to move his body from neck down. The game resumed in a few minutes.
  7. The league didn't leave it to them. The league's response was to resume the game after a 5 minute delay. Not sure how closely you are following this on ESPN but this point is fairly clear from the reporting there. The players/teams/coaches then told the league "NO, we are not playing again tonight."
  8. Huh? There was a detailed post up thread discussing the 5 reasons why this will be difficult to fix for the league. If you are too emotionally upset to participate here now, why don't you leave the computer?
  9. Nah. You can handle this anyway you want. This isn't mathematics or physics, where you can't break the rule. There are MANY ways this could play out. The honorable and easy thing would be for both teams to take a loss as a mutual forfeit.
  10. That jibes with what we heard a while ago; heart is beating; can't breathe on his own. This is not over for Damar!
  11. Happened in an NHL game not that long ago Chris Pronger
  12. Don't continue and rule it a "mutual forfeit" in which both teams take a loss.
  13. Sadly not unprecedented. Well, maybe in the world of the NFL.
  14. If the NFL cannot get confirmation--and soon--that he is alive and stable on his way to a hospital, THIS GAME WILL NOT CONTINUE. That's my take.
  15. The NFL is probably waiting to find out his situation. If he died, they will cancel/postpone the game simply due to the look of continuing. Reminds me of some F1 car races over the years where fatalities were involved.
  16. I CANNOT BELIEVE that the "worldwide leader in sports" (ESPN) has STILL NOT BROUGHT UP CHRISTIAN ERICSEN'S SITUATION. His heart stopped in the middle of a game and he fell straight on his face. They went out and were engaged in a LOT of very graphic and upsetting CPR on him. Got him revived, took him off the field...and a few days later he was FINE in a hospital bed smiling for cameras for the world to see. Big soccer country this is, huh? It was HUGE INTERNATIONAL STORY.
  17. As a resident of Florida, I urge you to reconsider your trip and stay in TO.
  18. Sounds like a motor vehicle accident in which Renner was the only vehicle. He could have driven off the road and flipped his vehicle or hit a tree or a million other things. He may not have worn a seatbelt and been ejected from the car...who knows. He was hurt bad enough that they flew him to the hospital on a chopper. He's probably in bad shape.
  19. I think we can do it, yes. When Josh is really on his game and we are playing well, we can beat anyone in the league, and home or away doesn't matter. I would argue Josh is usually nervous on the road! Our success in the playoffs will depend entirely on which Josh shows up.
  20. Upper 50s at game time...gray sky....lower chance of some rain. Maybe by 10:00pm the possible rain may develop into more serious thunderstorms, but like 40% chance. Should be pretty nice weather, especially if the rain stays away.
  21. Yeah, but the Raiders play in Las Vegas now.
  22. I haven't heard a lot of talk about weather this week. Right now it looks like gray sky and upper 50s at kickoff...with some rain maybe getting into the mix and then maybe even turning into some more serious thunderstorms before the game is over. Fairly decent weather overall, especially if that rain stays away.
  23. That's how the NFL rolls.
  24. I hav been frustrated that we tend to leave Kelce alone in particular. Being extremely physical with him at the line is the best way to try and control him.
