  1. I don't get this modern trend of making the stadium about anything and everything OTHER than a place to watch a football game. Who the hell is going to go in there to "hang out" while a football game is going on? Who is going to go in there to hang out while a football game is NOT going on? If only this country spent as much time and money on our roads and bridges.
  2. I'd let Dorsey go in a heartbeat, and lose no sleep over it. He is easily replaced. Would also not mind to see Frazier go. Neither of them are critical assets to be retained.
  3. Kevyn Adams spoke to the press yesterday, and you can listen to it at gr-55 in their recorded content section. He spoke for a while on the goaltender situation. Short version is they are essentially keeping 3 goalies up, they will be playing around with them all the time, they anticipate injury trouble before the year is out, and they are by no means done with 6K in Buffalo.
  4. Hey Inigo, how about fixing your thread title?
  5. The little guy fan sitting in a seat at a stadium is just about the last thing on Earth the NFL thinks--or cares--about. Why? There's no money in it. Not real money.
  6. Is this "revelation" somehow news? It was fairly obvious the night of the game that this is how it played out, and that didn't surprise me at all. Do you really think billion dollar business is going to voluntarily detour itself because a player was hurt? The NFL's position at the time was "he's off the field now, let's play football" and the 2 teams at the scene chose not to continue. It's not a pleasant situation but that's the country you folks live in. No surprises here.
  7. Doesn't sound that way, at least according to the Miami Herald. The nature of the thumb injury sustained by Mostert on Sunday against the Jets typically sidelines running backs for multiple weeks. Grasping and carrying the ball becomes nearly impossible with this type of injury. Read more at: https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/barry-jackson/article270503322.html#storylink=cpy
  8. Talking about "flipping a switch" is just nonsense that sports fans invent and then discuss. It's not a part of reality, just like "trap games", "momentum", and tons of other commonly discussed sports topics. These guys are pros; when the game starts they go out and try to play their best. Some games go better than others. No one is coasting; no one is "saving the good plays for the playoffs," and no one is pressing harder on the accelerator in a playoff game. We just have to hope that it all comes together in the right way for a few games, and we'll be back to the SB. Luck is a real thing, as are injuries. Let's hope both of those are on our side.
  9. I would answer the question in the thread title with the following question: Why in the world would you watch/listen to/follow programming of this type? It's just garbage designed to create content to sell ad time around. Just like pre-game shows, post-game shows, and halftime shows.
  10. I agree. What will be different in the future, IMO, are big contracts for players who are not QBs. I think the NFL is learning that all you need is an elite core of maybe 5 or 6 extreme difference makers. The rest of the names just need to be around league avg. players. This is why, for example, I would NEVER pay Edmunds what he will want. Or many other players comparable to him--too far removed from determining wins and losses. Never would have given Von Miller his K either, especially at his age. I think contracts like THAT will die out.
  11. It's a lousy batch of games. It will get a lot better the following round.
  12. It's a local newspaper article chronicling the many injuries on offense. Not sure how that's unusual.
  13. I have made a few pieces of furniture but my skills are not in your league. Nowadays, my "wood working" is limited to model ships, like this HMS Agamemnon:
  14. Now is not the time to be looking back and romanticizing about our pretty win streak. We are at ZERO right now and have to start from NOTHING. It's all right there in our hands, and in front of us.
  15. So I've been listening to radio call highlights from yesterday's game today. Not sure what the entire game sounded like, but John Murphy's replacement has been found. Greg Brown has been phenomenal on the big play highlights; reminds of Van Miller in terms of enthusiasm. Hate to see a guy lose a job due to injury, as the old saying goes, but sorry John. You should go!
  16. Good little article chronicling Miami's pretty severe injury problems after yesterday's game. Tua "in severe doubt" to play; starting RT getting MRI today; may not play; entire OL remains beaten up. Starting RB out with broken thumb. Both the star WRs were beaten up yesterday but finished the game; each is babying an ankle injury. https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/barry-jackson/article270503322.html
  17. Here's a good summary of what's happened so far, as of @ 1pm eastern time. https://www.bostonglobe.com/2023/01/09/sports/nfl-coaches-fired-2023/#updates
  18. Anyone notice that almost ALL of these games are crap on paper? Can't recall it being this bad. Other than the Bills (which hopefully will be a terrible game and Bills blowout without Tua), I am eager to watch the Baltimore vs. Bengals game. That's it.
  19. A situation like this was ALWAYS going to have positive and negative consequences, depending on who you are and what your perspective is. No way around that. There was no "perfect" resolution to this incident. Move forward!
  20. I agree; the OP is looking at anecdotal incidents and drawing broad conclusions from them. It doesn't work that way. We are starting at ZERO right now. We have to see what we do in each game ahead. Last year Josh was beyond phenomenal in the playoff games. Will he return to that? Be horrible? We don't know yet.
  21. Disagree that Von's absence has some sort of major impact on the pass rush He almost always lines up way outside on the D left side, and goes one-on-one against the right tackle...who man handles him nicely out of the way at which point Von quits on the play. He does this many times per game...for the limited plays that he is actually on the field (he misses LOTS of plays). Then he'll get a pressure or maybe a sack once and everyone says "Wow, Von Miller! What an impact on the game!" He then goes back to obscurity. He's not like Bruce Smith routinely drawing double teams and making all the other D-llnemen better because of him.
  22. And what? They were telling you the score to a football game while in line for Space Mountain? It will be EASY to avoid news of the game if he wants to.
  23. I'm curious as to why you would post this here.
  24. If what you are saying is the inconsistency is just a part of who he is, I totally agree with you. It's also why you never know what he might look like in the upcoming playoffs. Last year he was other-worldly. If he throws that switch again winning everything is more than possible. If he turns the ball over 3 or 4 times in a single game to a solid playoff team, we're done.
  25. I'm curious if people think Lamar Jackson will play next week--and if he does--you see the Ravens having a shot at beating the Bengals? I didn't even consider this possibility, but it would be great if the Ravens could eliminate the Bengals for us. I feel like it is about the same as hoping KC would lose last night to LV.
