Trade market for Rosen "soft"
RobbRiddick replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If I was in need of a QB I would definitely trade a third for him without blinking. Probably a second. I'm glad we got Allen but I think Rosen showed real potential on a really bad team. Plus he's got the cockiness to not let a trade effect him too much -
Where Are They Now? Safety Coy Wire
RobbRiddick replied to The Avenger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I kinda like hearing about where certain players are now. In some ways, I prefer hearing what happened to the busts/lower draft picks that I remember really well. So here's another. Ashton Youboty. I always remember him for having the longest neck I've ever seen. Dude looked like a cartoon character. Drafted in the third round back in 2006 - the same year we took Whitner in the first. After getting 23 tackles, an int and a sack in 2007 I remember hoping he might amount to something. Sadly it didn't happen. He hung on with the Bills until 2010, then spent a year with the Jags (mostly injured), then rode off into the sunset, his immense neck creating the oddest shadow you can imagine. So what's he doing now? "Former NFL cornerback Ashton Youboty is in his third season on staff at Wisconsin in 2019, serving in a quality control role that has him assisting with the Badgers' defense… Youboty went on to play five seasons in Buffalo before finishing his pro career with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2011. Most recently, Youboty spent the 2016 season as a volunteer in the Miami (Fla.) recruiting department and also took part in a scouting fellowship with the Bills. An Academic All-Big Ten selection, Youboty earned a bachelor's degree in family resource management from Ohio State. He completed graduate studies at Miami and earned an MBA in management and mergers & acquisitions in May 2017." -
I purchased a pair of Allen's underpants off ebay last week. Is that normal? In all seriousness (really, I didn't buy the underwear, I was outbid) I have watched his highlights numerous times, particularly the second Dolphins game. Part of it is excitement for the new season and part of it is that he's just so fun to watch. Far more fun than Tyrod or Edwards or Losman etc. He better be good this season otherwise I'll be highly pissed

News! Real news. Why is this thread not at 30 pages?! I do like the clip of him taking down Brady. To be fair I'd become a fan of a toy car if Brady fell over it

Yeah, crazy is good so long as you don't have to live with them. She looks like she'd be able to suck a golf ball through a length of hose pipe

Your All-Time Fav/Memorable Bills Plays
RobbRiddick replied to NoHuddleKelly12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kelly fumbles the snap on the first drive against the Raiders in the championship game. He picks it up, turns, runs to his right and (in the words of the great Dick Enberg) "throws to Lofton for a touchdown!" Some others that jump straight to mind: Sam Adams lumbering into the endzone during the 31-0 win on opening day Vs the Pats Any play involving a Fred Jackson stiff arm Bruce stopping OJ Anderson on 4th and short in the Super Bowl The Terrence McGee return that didn't quite make the endzone Josh's hurdle Josh's flick of the wrist throw down the field against the Jags Andre's 3TDs in the comeback So many -

The Offseason Has Officially Reached a New Low
RobbRiddick replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, it's like the world's worst singles advert... Good humoured gent, 51, seeks not hugely fat to lower end of obesity female. Own teeth not essential. -
A very interesting mock and you describe it all with such confidence and conviction that there were a couple of moments where I thought the draft had already taken place and you were merely recapping what had happened.

Really enjoying this thread. It's great reading all the opinions from guys who know their stuff regarding these college prospects (I personally know zilch). Great stuff everyone.

Love this sounder. When I get to the age when I need to start taking Viagra, this is the sound effect I'm going to use to let the wife know that things are 'looking up'

I think we should send him to the AA... oh

Theory on Brady’s retirement
RobbRiddick replied to quinnearlysghost88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brady's like the ***** Duracell battery bunny, or that Whitney Houston song from The Bodyguard. He's just going to go on and on and on and on. I was thinking the other day about the time we beat them 31-0, how full of hope I was for the season. Then it occurred to me how young I was then and how different my life was. And Brady is STILL playing. We've been to Afghanistan, Bin Laden is dead, Saddam is dead, a million episodes of Lost, about 1000 seasons of the Big Bang Theory, my pubes have started turning grey and BRADY IS STILL PLAYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
With ten picks I think it's very likely they could move back up into the 2nd or 3rd round. Though I could see Beane doing a lot of wheeling and dealing during the draft. Like, if things shake out properly, I could see him either trading up in the first round, or trading down in the first to get an extra 2nd, then maybe trading back into the 2nd (so THREE 2nd rounders). That's the one I'd like the most. Move down, get an extra 2nd, grab Hockenson, get a DT and WR in the 2nd, then move back into the 2nd and grab another position of need, whether that be LB, pass rusher, RB or even CB.

Schein: "Buffalo Bills, Cinderella team?"
RobbRiddick replied to HansLanda's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Schein can take his journalism pen and stick it right up his wife's a... what? He thinks the Bills are good? Always said he was one of the best out there! Hope he replaces Chris Brown -
This wasn't a GM, it was Doug Whaley

Tom Dundon is obviously a very smart businessman, why would he invest all that money into something only to scrap it so soon? The answer: the in-game betting app tech, which he now owns the rights to. Apparently it's still not been perfected, but he owns the patent, and with so many places allowing legalised gambling now and in the future, whoever gets a foot in the door first will make billions from it. As for the AAF folding, you just have to have the connection in some way to NFL teams. Whether that's expanding the draft and adding extra rounds for developmental guys so that fans of the NFL follow the guys who could be in training camp with their 'real' team come August, or the high school player idea that's been put around. Imagine if each NFL team had the rights to a few really promising graduates that ditched going to college and went to a pro league instead to earn some cash and learn a pro style game under former NFL coaches. Are you telling me you wouldn't at least keep up to date with news of how the Bills players were doing? I know I would. Even if I wasn't watching every snap of every game, I'd be reading articles, Googling the league etc. and all that plays a part in showing how much interest people have. They showed a chart in one article that illustrated how the interest on Twitter etc for the AAF have dive bombed after the first few weeks, peaking a little when Johnny Ball came to play, but that's just not enough. You also need to at least sustain the league for a few years to create loyalty and tradition among the fans. Those are two of the most important things with sports. No one has any connection to something that's new, so you need patience to develop that. To my above point, if the Bills had some HS grads or college guys from an expanded draft in the league, or primarily with one specific team then obviously that's the team I would follow. If even one of those guys tore up the league and then ended up being a decent player for the Bills then I'd be excited to see which players we had in the following season, which means I'd watch the other league's team more, which means I now have 2 years worth of history and memories watching them, and so on. There were 8 teams in the AAF, how about this: each team is filled with players from expanded NFL rosters that come via an expanded NFL draft. 8 teams in the league, 8 divisions in the NFL. You could have each team essentially representing a division from the NFL, so one would contain Jets, Bills, Pats and Dolphins. OF course, many fans wouldn't want to cheer any team that had future Pats or Jets or Phins on it, so instead you could have each team being a mix of 4 NFL teams from different divisions, related to conference. So team 1 is Bills, Steelers, Chiefs and Titans. Team 2 is Bengals, Jets, Jags and Chargers, and so on. Flawed I'm sure, but if I had to come up with a successful spring league and funds were tight, that's what I would do.

Poyer meets Bills legendary RB
RobbRiddick replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thank God he didn't kill them with scissors otherwise that picture would look really insensitive They tried but it was a family photo and you couldn't see Poyer behind the crowd of kids -
Okay, it may be way too early but for what it's worth I'm going to predict the Bills wins/losses: Titans - win Cowboys - win Browns - Loss (but a great game - I'd love it if they made this a primetime game) Steelers - Loss Giants - Win Broncos - Win Ravens - Win (revenge is sweet!) Eagles - Loss Bengals - Win Skins - Win Dolphins - Win Dolphins - Win Jets - Win Jets - Loss Pats - Loss Pats -------------------------------------------------- Win (yes, I have a feeling we get one off the bastards this year) And now I get to count 'em up and see if we're playoff bound... 11 - 5 Haha, I didn't think it would be that many. I'll live with that (live in this case spelled H-A-R-D O-N). This would have us not only in the playoffs but challenging for the division crown. Man, what a Christmas/New Year that would be. Also, I'd love to qualify for the playoffs with a few weeks remaining, just so we can all relax a bit and enjoy the push for the division, safe in the knowledge that whatever happens we're definitely going to be alive past December.

Looking at those teams, there are a hell of a lot of them we can beat. Yes, other teams will be looking to get better too, but I can already smell a good shot at the playoffs
