  1. Duke was targeted in most of the critical plays on Saturday and got his hands on the ball several times but they were difficult catches and he didn't make them. Maybe we should throw more to DiMarco on the critical plays.?
  2. I love Duke but after the Houston game I'm wondering if his hands are good enough for an NFL receiver.
  3. You obviously weren't watching in the 1980s This guy, on the other hand, remembers the 1980s very well
  4. How did you do on reading comprehension tests in school?
  5. This was just as bad as the Music City Miracle except that the pain was spread out over an hour this time, making it real torture. Maybe the MCMiracle was karma payback for the Frank Reich comeback game against that francise (and the flag that was never thrown on Don Bebee for stepping out of bounds). And maybe this is karma payback to the Houston fans for the same thing? I'm tired of being philosophical about it, I just want to curl up into fetal position and suck my thumb.
  6. Isn't that the whole point of having message boards? It was fun to see the Pats have to do the multi-lateral thing twice in less than a week.
  7. I like that the back judge is a quality control manager. They should put him in charge of face mask penalties. But I'd really rather have Steve Freeman
  8. ALSO: here's how you end fighting in hockey... If you drop your gloves, no gloves for you the rest of the game. Of course who wants to end fighting in hockey?
  9. I've already been silenced by my family with all my ideas for rule changes that would improve games, such as having an over and back rule in soccer like in basketball. But I DID come up with 3-on-3 for overtime before the NHL did. Actually my idea was 5 minutes of 4-on-4, followed by 5 minutes of 3-on-3, followed by 5 minutes of 2-on-2, then 5 minutes of just the goalies. Don't know about you but I would NEVER leave a game early if that was the rule.
  10. The NFL should allow teams to dress their entire roster and practice squad in week 17. It doesn't do the league any good to have playoff-bound teams watch their starters go down in meaningless games. Baseball has a version of this with the 40 man rosters in September.
  11. I remember a game a few years ago when Lee Smith got an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty even though he was a healthy scratch. Standing on the sidelines in street clothes he got in the way of an official and knocked him down.
  12. Those DBs suck and one of them pulled a hammy on that first TD. Let's see him against NFL competition.
  13. Ah yes, the attendance figure from the first game at "The Home of the Buffalo Bills"
  14. In order to qualify you must have seen Johnny Unitas at the Rockpile
  15. To get a fair comparison you need to have Daboll calling plays on first and second downs for all 32 teams.
  16. Sounds crazy to take a punter in the first round. Just ask Aaron Maybin or Mike Williams.
  17. I'm curious why the Smartest Coach Ever didn't take the half-the distance on the 2 point try instead of taking a meaningless 15 yard penalty on the kickoff.
  18. Like everyone else, I HATE HATE HATE losing to the Patriots, and my stomach was in knots for the whole game (although this week I didn't cover my eyes when the FG team was on the field). BUT.... 1. If the most important thing is winning in the playoffs, then a loss yesterday means we can rest our starters for some or all of the Jets game and give the guys who are banged up an extra week to recuperate. 2. If we had won and needed Miami to win in NE next week, what would we do if the Patriots are winning by 17 at halftime? Pull the plug on the Jets game and get ready for the playoffs? What if the Patriots are up by 3 at halftime? You still KNOW that they're going to do what they almost always do... 3. Lots of criticism here about the plain vanilla game plan but it may have been smart not to put too much on tape for playoff teams to study. Don't forget that we may be back in Foxborough in a few weeks. The only wrinkle was the tackle-eligible play to Dawkins but the world has seen that one already. Going in I felt that it was an ideal situation: nothing to lose and everything to gain, play your hearts out but keep focused on the long picture. As it turns out, we escaped the game without serious injuries (except maybe Morse) and if certain players needed to lay an egg it was as good a time as any. On to Houston!!
  19. That's nothing compared to what happened in the Sabres game yesterday. There was the longest stretch I can remember seeing of uninterrupted play. One of the Kings broke his stick and it sat on the ice for what seemed like half an hour, I think by the time play was stopped the guy whose stick it was had come back and skated another shift.
  20. First Bills game I ever watched on TV: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1966_American_Football_League_Championship_Game I should have learned my lesson right away but instead I'm still there in front of the TV 53 years later
