I agree that Beane isn't going to move up. There are always players that fall into the 20's that everyone had going top 10. With the exception of Barkley, I see no other game changing sure-thing worth trading up for.

i'll tell you one thing, they needed some interior radiant heaters in the hallways the day of the Indy game. Everyone was freezing and nowhere to warm up even for a few minutes unless you were in club seating of course, which the majority of the fans aren't. Saw some young kids dangerously cold, girls literally crying in the hallways. Its nice that Pegula is renovating the clubs, but if he experienced the scene during that game he would be embarrassed at how ugly it was. I love the history of the stadium and like that it's old school and not glitzy/casino looking like all the new ones, but she needs some hallway heating for the masses. Concessions employees were freezing too, no pads to stand on, no heaters. Nice compassion Jacobs fat cats. .

you said we can't win without Shady. i say you are wrong. i've watched all their games (sadly enough) because of fantasy guys. they're not that good.

they also allowed over 250 on the ground to the jets without Forte and looked like a pop warner team in SF two weeks ago in a game they wanted to win. Sorry but 8 points is way too high, Jville is overrated by a lot. They're the likely winner but I've watched a lot of their games, very inconsistent. You should have heard their local newscaster going on about how dominant they are, you'd think they hadn't lost a game all year. #takeTheBillsAndThePointsBaby

Good point about Rico. He's had a full season now to get a feel for this offense and its nuances. The Oline seems to have climbed out of that abysmal performance in San Diego and stabilized enough to give a legit mix of pass and run opportunities. We know Marrone isn't exactly a great game caller and may be slow to adjust, can Rico stay ahead of him and call a better game?

Hauschka all day. He won us two games with long range bombers, in the same way our kicker last year lost us Seattle and Miami(2nd game) We are the same team as last year, just better kicking both punts and kickoffs. Wish we had Gillislee and Watkins we could use those horses right now.

i liked the move. in hindsight we still made the playoffs and got a good prospect some game film. The Chargers defensive line was too much for us to handle, most of Peterman's issues that day stemmed from that. I wonder how things might have worked out if differently if stone hands DiMarco had caught the pass that bounced off his hands and gave the Chargers a touchdown. What if we scored on that drive and moved to a power running approach instead of playing desperately from behind for the rest of the game.

It will be with our primary running back (Murph), and our two best WR's (Deonte and Kelvin) guys that weren't even on the team until halfway through the season at the earliest. So much for having any idea what's going to happen with players as a season progresses.

He's listed at only 193 pounds but it looks to me like he's much thicker and heavier than that. Like 20 lbs more. Is that an illusion? The knock on him in New Orleans was fumbling, maybe the way around that is getting Andre Reed biceps and forearms. I think that's why he's not returning kicks for us, despite his skills in that area and Tate being less-than-average back there, there's no way you can add that much muscle and lose a little speed. I think Shady will be active for the game but very limited, and this castoff from the Saints might be our best hope. Weird they signed Jonathan Williams to a 2yr deal, and here we are with a kid they drafted in the 7th round two years ago and waived in camp this year, who may very get the bulk of the carries in our first playoff game in forever.

I'm sure he could come in and pass protect like a madman, but that would be it. I think this situation calls for some serious strategy. I'm still at a loss about the Jonathan Williams situation, the kid was having a great camp, we just parked him on the practice squad, then Denver grabbed him and a few months ago the Saints signed him to a 2 year deal. I know roster spots are gold, and they felt Tolbert and Shady were enough, but we're at the point now where we're signing dudes off the street who have never seen our offense before. Saints must be laughing. They got our guy that we had all through camp/preseason and here we are in playoff time plugging in their castoffs Cadet and now Murphy in huge games, hoping they can learn enough in a few weeks. Whaley did the same thing (Boom Herron anyone?) maybe the GM's just feel a RB doesn't have to know that much to get up to speed right away. I'll say this, if we're going against the number one defense at home with Tolbert and Murphy as our lead RB's, our GM deserves a blow to the head. Who knows, maybe the Murph will light 'em up. We already know what Tolbert is.

Been there once. Got food poisoning at the McDonalds and had to deal with it for the next 18 hours on my drive back to Geneseo from Daytona Beach in my Dodge Omni crammed with 5 guys. The Jags front 7 will destroy Tolbert. The guys that have done well against them are speed runners, not power backs. Banyard and Murph will need to step up.

He probably isn't the best OC McD could have hired, but I'd like to see him run an offense with an accurate pocket passer, which is why I think he gets to keep his job another year and Tyrod doesn't.

This is a good observation. I've always wondered that. I can guarantee you this, sticking your arm out to break your fall lessens your chance of holding on to the ball significantly. We see it all the time, and just saw it with clay who wasn't going to hit the ground very hard at all, especially in the context of a game that's physical and rough to begin with. Secondly, putting your arm out to "break your fall" doesn't really do much more to soften the blow, and may in fact hurt you worse as an earlier poster described. It's so lame. Something Tom Brady would do, or Pete Carroll when he played football in high school. Even the mascots hit the turf holding on to the ball with both hands.

Agreed. Another example of Goodell pushing for something that is the exact opposite of what football fans want. Feel so bad for Chargers fans, they meant a lot to their city. I have a friend who lives in San Diego, has two boys age 8 n 10, they were season ticket holders. Said it really hit them hard.

I think we need a guy that can do an even split with Shady on carries. He was an animal this year, stayed healthy and had some games go over 30 touches, but if he went down we basically had nothing. The fact that Jonathan Williams was never signed off anyone's practice squad this year tells me there's a large supply of backs out there. Is Karlos the Killer over his food addiction yet?

Maybe. Weird that he didn't get picked up elsewhere off the practice squad. Looked like Jordy Nelson in the preseason, but McD felt the need to develop Zay as a priority. Turns out Zay isn't looking like a very good pro, and we know nothing about Reilly. Give the new guy some reps, he might be a game changer.
