  1. Jackson over Darnold? See this is why the draft is maddening because there's probably a significant chance you're right. It's almost a total crapshoot.
  2. i agree. had some great screen play runs too. when healthy, my favorite Bill to watch.
  3. everybody seems to be puttinf garrapolo in a class with the elites? the guy had one great game against Jax, who had an overrated defense as we saw in Pittsburgh (gave up over 40 pts in that game too). I watched the Bears game Jimmy should have been benched. Niners win less than 6 games this year, wait and see.....
  4. we won't need to. moving to the 4th spot works with just giving up our 12 n 22.
  5. We tried to build a wall to keep the BBMB'ers out. We aren't exactly getting their best and brightest over here. But we're nothing if we're not tolerant (right Zay?) so welcome aboard to all the nubes. We left a light on for ya..
  6. We have a great young LT, need a versatile guard and rt. i think if we stay put you will see Vita Vea become a Bill. the next Ngata
  7. jets way overpaid for that move up. No way Beane was giving up that much. take the browns #4 spot for much cheaper and still get a great qb prospect
  8. Most drops in the league and now a felon Did not see that coming, seemed like such a stable, quality kid. Someone on this board was yelling for Smith-Shuster in the 2nd round instead of Zay last year, too bad we didn't go that way, he's a legit force.
  9. Yes I think you're right. Sticking to a general trade up chart value system, the trade to #4 allows us to keep BOTH second round picks vs trading up to #2 which basically crushes our entire draft until 3rd round. No matter what anyone says, there is still a very large amount of guesswork involved on which qb is going to be better than the other one. We need those 2nd round picks
  10. if that were the case we'd just burn a pick with Philly and get Foles. I still think that's not a bad way to go if he could be had for a reasonable value.
  11. Oh Chucky. He also likes his job, and realizes his career is staked on this draft. GM's don't stay employed unless they win, and they don't win without a stud qb. I think Allen could thrive in a place where he had an AJ Green, Julio, etc. Big targets with big catch radius. Obviously nobody knows which (if any) of these qb's are going to pan out, but Allen reminds me of Ryan Leaf, which isn't fair to the kid, but I can't help it.
  12. Oh Chucky. He also likes his job, and realizes his career is staked on this draft. GM's don't stay employed unless they win, and they don't win without a stud qb.
  13. He's better than Michael Irvin, Steven Smith or Chris "you gots to have a fall guy" Carter. Those dudes are a joke, at least Deon has some decent insights now and then.
  14. And a nice drive at end of Saints game. The San Diego game seemed like a great place to start him at the time, because that stadium was not loud at all and there would be no issues with sound. The biggest problem was that we could not handle Bosa and the Chargers pass rush. Mills was such a mess that day--he can hold his own in run blocking but he whiffed repeatedly and Peterman had a guy in his face all day. Obviously the first pick wasn't his fault, DiMarco's stone hands were. But the biggest problem he showed was not enough zip on the out routes that day, and trying to do too much. That might be his downfall for the pro's, although at training camp he seemed to have a cannon on those sideline throws. I specifically remember thinking that watching guys catch his passes from 30 feet away--this guy can rope this ball when he wants to. Go to camp this year and judge it yourself. Good showing at the Indy game, although I couldn't see much with a frozen face. .
  15. Lots of reasons we lost. I wouldn't blame the defense at all, they went on the road in the playoffs and held a team to 10 points. The two key plays in that game were KB pushing off on 1st and goal at the one, and Clay's huge drop. Neither one of them Tyrods fault, although he definitely missed some opportunities on other plays. It's the reason he's in Cleveland now. 3 points is absurd, that Jax defense wasn't that good.
  16. I see the only reasonable move is up to the 4th spot. Getting to 2 isn't necessary or worth the price. Brownies will have their qb at 1, and pick up 12th and 22nd overall to get two more impact starters. The Jets got smoked in that trade up, if they don't hit on their qb pick it's going to kill them for awhile.
  17. There is a significant difference between 2 and 4 on the trade up values. I know they vary, and there was a 700 point discrepancy in the Jets trade up (Jets overpaying), but I believe the deal is not with the Giants but with Cleveland at #4. The chart says we can get to the Browns #4 spot with our pair of first round picks. I would think the draft would then go Cleveland QB (allen or darnold), Barkley to Giants, Mayfield or Darnold to Jets and we grab Jewish Lightning at #4. This way we don't give up ANY second or third round picks and still get a top qb prospect. There isn't such a clear cut KNOWN difference between the top QB guys that is worth dumping both of our second rounders as well. That's two likely starters (possibly more) we'd be giving up just to get in front of the Jets. Gettleman and Beane are friends, but I think that's meaningless. This is business, and the Browns #4 spot makes much more sense in every scenario from Beane's perspective. We aren't a team that's close and only needs a position or two to win a championship. We need these second round picks badly and it's likely whoever we take at 2 is still there at 4 anyway.
  18. That's what killed Tyrod last season. We dumped Goody and Watkins and left one of the best longball throwers in the league with a dink dunk Dennison playbook. Not a huge surprise that we scored 3 points on Jax in the playoffs and the Steelers scored over 40.
  19. Unless he does a major turnaround, the dude is not worth more than a few mil per year. I followed him closely because of Fantasy, thought he would light it up with better qb play and playing opposite legit receiving threats, but he didn't, and it wasn't all due to physical injury. Reportedly not a great worker, Cousins lost confidence in him, had some drops, struggled with separation. Hopefully Seahawks sign him because, well, I hate Pete Carrol and anything that frustrates him brings me joy
  20. Shady stays. It turns out the guy isn't a selfish head case at all, but an awesome teammate and locker room guy, as well as a great player. Philly, NJ and NY fans really seem to hate their own players, even the good ones. So thanks for that. I'd like to see Barkley go to the Browns so I can root for the guy.
  21. i'm sure they called about the #4 pick as well. We certainly don't need to be #1 here, it's not like there's a clear cut choice at that spot anyway.
  22. This is still over a month away, and the draft order is still very much unknown because of the trading, so it's just a wild guess at this point. How each team evaluates players is still unknown, there is no clear cut #1 this year. I'd be surprised if the Jets gave away that much to trade up for Mayfield, but maybe they did. The one certainty is how incredibly powerful a losing season or two can be towards helping the future of your team. If the Giants traded with us, they'd have SIX picks in the top 66. That's averaging one every 11 picks for the first two rounds. Talk about a massive shot in the arm for a team, adding that many likely starters all under cheap contracts for at least four years (five for some) is pretty savvy managing. Even our little one game tank against the Jets two years ago when we started Cardale in a meaningless last game of the year slid us up four draft spots to the 10th spot and got us KC's pick this year. The Chiefs weren't waiting until 14 to get Mahomes. Without that loss that nobody remembers, we aren't remotely close to sniffing a trade up with the Giants right now. My last point on QB drafting: If you pick a qb and he pans out, you have your key guy for a decade or more. You aren't letting him go. If you pick any other position it's very likely the dude is gone after 5 years to injury or free agency. To never have to waste a high pick on a qb until the year 2030 (and be a playoff team in the meantime) sounds really nice to me.
  23. any upward move for us is either the #2 spot or nothing
  24. They didn't want another team sliding in there on draft day. We still get to #2 anyway.
