  1. I posted earlier. Spot 3-8 for WR are all the same +/- some return abilities. None of them really matter for this offense. And none of them are any better than a street FA. The most critical position group with the most uncertainty id the OL. Can Miller play at a high level. Can Ducasse play as well as he did down the stretch. Who the hell is going to be center? There are question marks at all 5 spots on the line. This is of far greater concern than if Zay or Streeter is the # 2 to KB.
  2. Wow if this is for the ground crew, could you imagine? Bills v Patriots in Buffalo. Bills down by 1 at the 20. Last second FG and out comes a ground crew guy. Turns out he was born in Boston and has a FB page with Pats all over it. Maybe even a photo of him talking to BB before the game.
  3. I would put him in the category with Aikman and Bradshaw but ahead of Tarkenton and Kelly. He was not the reason his teams won championships but he was a very good QB on a great team. Championships don't outweigh talent. That is why I would still put Fouts and Marino ahead of all the guys that won championships with great teams. For me Marino is top 5 with no rings and Young is top 10 even with only one championship.
  4. Leaving out Steve Young and Aaron Rodgers is really bad. Rodgers, Fouts, Young, and Brees are all better than Kelly, Bradshaw, Tarkenton, and Bradshaw Brady is #1. I was a Montana holdout until a few years ago. I can only imagine what Montana would do in this era. I still put Montana ahead of Manning. The era argument is kind of funny. What would Ronnie Lott or Dick Labeau or Dick NIghtrain Lane be in today's era? The great DB's of the past might not be so great in today's era. That is why you have to keep guys like Unitus and Baugh in the list. They dominated there era just as much as Brady does this one.
  5. Dawkins surprised me quite a bit. I posted last training camp that he was a disappointment due to the fact he could not beat out Mills. Maybe Mills is a serviceable RT that just gets exposed from time to time. Maybe Dawkins is just a better LT. Regardless he played well enough to be the least of the OL concerns heading into 2018.
  6. I loved the Allen pick. But if he is a bust Beane will be gone after the 2019 season. That is just the way it is.
  7. When has the cap prevented the Bills from keeping or signing anyone in the last ten years? Without a franchise QB salary anyone on this board could manage the cap.
  8. Me too and plane tickets for four. Left before halftime. Threw my hat in the garbage walking to the car.
  9. Savvy shopper? Star and Ivory deals are above market. DiMarco and Tolbert deals were terrible though those were made by McDermott. So far McBeane has shown an ability to jettison talent for decent returns and cap space. It is yet to be determined he can spend wisely.
  10. Taken into what context? You can't state that and then not give the context to which you are referring. It is illogical. The Jags had just as bad a passing game as the Bills did and were run heavy with a clear #1 back. Seems pretty similar to Bills 2017. Tolbert was terrible in 2017. He should have never made the team and his presence the entire year played a role in no comp picks. I'm happy they moved on and if Ivory looks anything like his 2015 season it will be a great signing. You just don't see that many backs declining in YPC have a resurrection. But like you and others have said, 30 catches, good run blocking, and a few key reps per game may be just enough.
  11. Ivory had 3.4 YPC in 2017. Tolbert was 3.7 in 2017. I suspect he is done. Hope I'm wrong but running backs go from great to out of the league at his age and with his decline in production. They have no cap issues so keeping him to see how it goes is probably wise. But my guess is he looks old and slow in training camp and they cut him. If he has a bounce back year and can catch 35 balls and run 100 times for 3.8 YPC then he should be a good complement to Shady.
  12. Im happy Marv is in the HOF but still dont think he deserves it. I dont think Tally should be on the WOF but donated to his go fund me. My guess is Tasker in 2017 would catch 100 passes. That said he doesnt belong in HOF either. Not until about four more kickers and punters make it.
  13. I predicted and wanted Nick O'Leary cut during training camp of his second year. He has proven to be an adequate player. Never will be a star but he is fine as a back-up TE.
  14. He was decent. The defense was one of the worst in NFL.
  15. I wanted DeShone Kizer in 2017 draft. Would have taken instead of White in the first. Though for sure they would take in second round, instead they took Zay. Also hated giving up a pick to move up to get Dawkins.
  16. If they wanted to trade him, I don't think they would be calling him out in the media. They showcased Watkins before trading him. Dareus also got more praise from Leslie Frazier the last few weeks before he was traded. Calling him out is either a motivational tool or prepping the fan base for his release.
  17. Only two issues with McD the coach is the fact he let Tolbert play and starting Peterman on the road in the playoff hunt.
  18. 1 TT - Playoff appearance. That is the only stat that matters 0 Fitz, Bledsoe, Losman, Edwards, Manuel, Orton and bunch of other scrubs
  19. If Lorax makes the team I agree. I would let him pass rush 15-20 snaps a game and play STs. I'm really hoping Lawson steps up especially in the pass rush.
  20. He definitely made some nice plays last year. Reminds me ok Kiko. I think ultimately he will be too small to play the position. He is only 6-0 and 221. That is a SS not an OLB. But instincts and speed can turn into great plays of which he delivered last year.
  21. Interesting take on the 53 man roster. Joe B takes the two worst position groups and deals with that with quantity over quality. I appreciate his approach but my take is the opposite. In my mind the WR #4 is really no different than #7. None of them are any good. Same goes for LB #3-6. Only Edmunds is a true talent. Milano is a borderline starter. The rest are terrible including Lorax who only makes the team because of leadership(I still predict he won't). Any one of them can be cut and signed at a later date if the starters get injured. I would carry 5 WR and 5 LB. The majority of the time they will be in nickel and dime meaning Edmunds and only one other LB will see much playing time. I would add a DE, a TE, and another DB. Clay is nearly certain to miss some time and carrying a blocking TE is wise. I would be ok with three TE and an extra OL here as well. I like the idea of an extra body on the DL more so at DE. Lastly, this defense took a significant step back when Gaines was hurt. If Davis can't hold up they will need plenty of reserves to choose from. Therefore carrying an extra DB is more important to me than a 6th WR. I'm sure they can find a DB to catch punts and play STs.
  22. Is there some sort of prerequisite with a portion of the fan base to hate the best players on the team? Fans wanted Reich over Kelly. Labelled Jason Peters not a Buffalo guy. Rejoicing over trading away Lynch for nothing. Constantly taking shots at Watkins despite when healthy being a dominant WR. Blame Whaley for giving up too much to get him if you feel the talent, the position, or the alternatives were not worth giving up extra picks. In fact, agree it was dumb to give up picks to trade up for a WR. But denying the talent he had is foolish.
  23. RBs don't slow down. They fall off the cliff. Not saying it is going to happen this year but it can. As I have stated before, Ivory will not make it out of camp. He has already fallen off the cliff. What will determine whether the offense will succeed or not is the TD/INT ratio. If the QB and passing game can be more productive without a significant increase in INT's the offense can be more successful. The next most important issue will be third down conversions. Even under TT this was a big issue. He did convert some first downs with his legs but there was a high number of 3 and outs. Again this is all negated by turnovers. If they can convert more third downs and keep the defense off the field that should be a positive. But if it is at the expense of a pick six or a red zone turnover then the offense will be worse off. This board screamed for more points (apparently top 10 was not good enough), yards, and TD passes. None of those matter if the turnovers increase significantly. Even for me TT was too conservative, but those of us that defended him did so based on low turnover rate. Those that wanted him gone pointed to yards, TD passes, and 4th quarter comebacks. I hope AJ and then Josh are the right blend of aggressiveness and ball security.
