  1. Schmidt was below average. I have no issue with trying someone new and without NFL experience.
  2. Wallace will be on the 53 man roster by the end of September Surprised they do not have another QB but maybe the idea is to give Allen as many practice reps as possible assuming they go with Peterman game 1
  3. Boettger claimed by Chiefs. I liked his signing after the draft. Thought he had a good shot to make the team.
  4. Daboll can certainly do things that help the OL. He can go max protect and limit the number of receivers in the play. He can go five wide, shotgun, and throw more bubble screens and short passes. He can call some run/pass option plays. But there is little he can do when facing 3rd and 7+ and from LG to RT none of them can pass block. Those four may be adequate in the run game but they are easily the four worst pass blocking starting linemen in the league. And without RI next to Dawkins who knows how he will do. He was owned by Miles Garrett in preseason and that was a straight 1:1 matchup and he played terribly. Now Garrett may be a top 5 DE this year but still have to worry about even Dawkins mathcing up against elite competition.
  5. Chargers game - 27 yard run for TD. 20+ yard runs are more ran than 40+ yard completions But as the other poster said perfectly, he doesn't have elite speed, but he has elite quickness and vision.
  6. Good call. I knew he was UDFA but thought he made the roster right out of camp. He might be the greatest come from nowhere story in NFL history.
  7. Help my memory. Please remind me of any PS player that has ever done anything in the NFL? Bills? I can recall a few WR call ups when the Bills lost their top 4 or 5 wrs to injury.
  8. 2-2 with wins over Baltimore and Chargers keeps them in playoff hunt well into Nov. F/u with win over Tenn and they likely make the playoffs with split with Jets and sweep Miami
  9. This makes no sense. The Bills allowed him to compete in the Olympics. He never competed in track during a NFL season. And if there was even a hint of faking injuries, the 49ers would have likely figured it out when looking at his medical records.
  10. Seantrel Henderson is starting at OT for the Texans. Pretty incredible with how bad the OT play was and with the Cordy soon to be shipped out to Cinci that they let Seantrel go.
  11. Go back in time and see most of us didn't want to keep him and felt San Fran grossly overpaid for him. Hard to know who was right given his history of injuries. Is he a one hit wonder with the 49ers or did he just need more time to develop. Don't tell me he had TT as a QB or the Olympics. It was injuries that held him back in Buffalo.
  12. I feel McD is a better GM with Whaley than he is with Beane. I think Beane has traded away more talent than he has brought in. I think he values draft picks more than players. I respect that he has positioned the team well for FA next year. But that also scares the hell out of me because his FA decisions so far score a solid F. Star, PED Murphy, Ivory, Bodine, and AJ all are either terribly over paid, just flat out suck, or both. But if he hit on Allen which is the QB I wanted, then it really doesn't matter. If he has found a franchise QB a multitude of sins can be forgiven. But if Allen is a bust or hell even average then Beane only survives if he absolutely nails the 2019 off-season and FA. I want them to win, and usually I am an optimist. But my head says this is a 4-12 team that will jettison Shady and KB perhaps even before the year is over but certainly before next year. The team is worse or no better at every position except TE and QB. But my head also says, the preseason means nothing, Beane probably knows more than I do, and lots of stuff can happen over then next 17 weeks.
  13. The overwhelming majority of this board loved this pick. You know who you were. Most thought they got a steal and he would be a dominant pass rusher. Now he just looks so dam slow. First I thought he was just fat and out of shape. Now he just looks so unathletic.
  14. Surprise: Zay, DeMarco, Bodine, AJ, Ivory, O'Leary Ivory would be gone if not for the guaranteed money Beane signed him to PED Murphy will be put on PUP and IR settlement Biggest shock: After Mack is acquired, Lorax is let go
  15. Improve 1. Browns 2. Jets 3. Colts 4. Giants 5. 49ers Regress 1. Bills 2. Jags 3. Seahawks 4. Patriots 5. Dolphins (i think they will be worst team in the league)
  16. Cover an opposing Tight End
  17. And for full disclosure I really liked the MCcarron signing. Thought he could start and win if they missed out on a QB.
  18. Of course there are many. No reason to get him hurt in a meaningless game. None of these guys will ever see the field on offense the entire year. He will be the Game 1 starter.
  19. Don't give up hope. If they start Peterman the opposing offense won't have very far to go to score. Hell the oppsoing offense won;t even need to take the field to score.
  20. He played average football last year. Nothing to deserve a first round grade but if he was a third round pick no one would be complaining. He was fat and slow for two years. He has trimmed down. My guess is he will get 4-5 sacks and if healthy will start at DE the entire year even if they trade for Mack. Mack puts Lorax on the bench in the 4-3 and replaces Shaq at DE in the nickel. PED Murphy is on track to be in the Bills Top 10 worst FA signings.
  21. I only trade a QB for a decent OG. They have little value and if AJ or Nate plays well in the regular season their value will only go up.
  22. Why do you think the decision has not already been made? Of course the decision has been made. Do you think a few reps against 3rd, 4th, and 5th string guys is going to make any difference in who starts at Baltimore. Of course it won't. My guess is all three play with one guy getting one series followed by another getting two and the third playing the remainder of the game. I think it will be AJ, Nate, and then Allen. I think Mcd will play it safe and go with AJ to start the season. Of course if AJ doesn't play it will be a week of speculation as to whether that was due to injury or because he is the game 1 starter.
