Incognito's Retirement? [update: Now Released]
Dadonkadonk replied to Spiderweb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You realize the team signs the contract too and they can cut him at any time? The NFL salary structure is at least 75% based on signing bonuses. This is not the NBA or MLB. The player has every right to hold out and demand what the market will pay. The team has no obligation to renegotiate of course. This has nothing to do with honor. It is economics. -
Looks like you are correct. Still seems odd to treat your ProBowl OG this way. Maybe the crap that went down in the Jags game was real and McD and Beane aren't messing around. If that were the case though he would have just been cut not renegotiated. Truth will come out most likely one day

I like the look of this roster/Defense
Dadonkadonk replied to RPbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like most of the moves made especially Edmunds but he is only 20. I can see overpaying for Star. I don't get the Trent Murphy signing. PED user and coming off two ligament surgery. He should have been a one year prove it type of deal. Hope I'm wrong, but he is on my short list of training camp busts/cuts. I'm most worried about the pass rush for reasons above and Kyle is aging rapidly. Star and Lawson offer little in the pass rush. Maybe this will be a breakout year for Lawson. He held his own with the move back to DE. He looked slimmer yet seemed to hold up well against the run. Can he add 8-10 sacks? That would be a huge lift. Hughes was average last year. He had some real fine moments but disappeared for long stretches. Harrison Phillips on paper looks like a steal. Can he offer an inside pass rush? The secondary looks great. Hope McD and Frazier add a few more blitzes this year. The secondary keeps almost everyone in front of them. I think they can take a few risks and send an extra man from time to time. -
Thurman Thomas - 1991 NFL mvp
Dadonkadonk replied to MtlBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My favorite player of all time He was what made that offense go -
I think it is better than 50/50 Incognito comes back. I still like Miller to win the RG spot back. Agree Mills is adequate to hold down the RT spot for another year. He is near elite run blocker but may be bottom 5 pass protector. If Dawkins does not regress they can help Mills with a TE or RB most of the time. Dawkins really impressed me. He couldn't beat out Mills for RT but was able to step in at LT with good success. Maybe McD planned it that way all along to move Cordy in a trade no matter what. Lastly, Ducasse played his best football in the final 6 games. Maybe both he and Miller start but I really like Teller. The Bills could use a late round gem for the OL. I think the OP greatly overestimates Ivory and DiMarco. I think Ivory will be a training camp cut. He is done. The back-up RB may not be on the roster yet. DiMarco will make the team but he is not as good a blocker as is commonly thought. I would like to see DiMarco used more in the passing game. If the new OC does not then I don't see a reason to carry a FB. Keep 4 TE and 6 WR and get rid of the FB. Despite the presumed lack of WR talent the base offense will be a single back with either two TE and Two WR or 3-4 WRs. Zay got better as the season went on and kudos to McD for letting him play through the nightmare start. KB is a star when healthy. Clay is above average and in a contract year. He will be quite good this year. I defended TT quite a bit the last two years but many of his most arrant or delayed throws were to Clay. Clay should produce much more with a new QB and a new system.

Top 10 Boneheaded Moves of NFL offseason

10 year contract for a HC out of the game for a decade is nuts The Saints trade up was also a terrible waste of draft picks Star contract could easily be in this top 10 list -
What Do YOU Remember about Thurman Thomas?
Dadonkadonk replied to Fadingpain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I remember him winning SuperBowl XXV MVP. Oh crap Marv Levy and Darryl Talley screwed that up... Counter trey started by Washington and perfected by Buffalo. Not used much anymore with both the G and OT pulling. Not sure why. Counter is still used in multiple different formations and variations. Curious if anyone knows if defenses eventually found a counter measure? OLB/DE reading the puling OT and immediately attacking the backfield ignoring the RB motion? -
What jerseys do you own?

Which Bills Decision Infuriated You?
Dadonkadonk replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really? He didn't do anything in Seattle. He was done. Great guy but there must be 100 or probably 200 more infuriating moves than releasing Fred Jackson. Hell with RBs alone, there is letting Cribbs go, trading Lynch, misusing OJ early in his career, drafting Spiller and McGahee, and if you want to add cutting aging players - releasing Thurman Thomas who could have still played a year and retired never having worn a Dolphins jersey. -
Which Bills Decision Infuriated You?
Dadonkadonk replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1. Marv letting Kelly keep throwing the ball in the best chance to win a SB in franchise history 2. Not paying Jason Peters 3. Hiring Marv as GM 4. Hiring Dave Wannstedt as DC 5. Allowing Rex to dismantle the Jim Schwartz defense. I had no issue with Rex as a HC hire. I thought wrongly that he would retain Schwartz and just add a few blitz/coverage wrinkles to what Schwartz was doing. If Rex had simply played the role of HC, both he and Whaley would be here now with multiple playoff seasons. Then you only watched the first 8 games he played and not the second 8. -
OJ was the most talented. Thomas the most productive. Cribbs was Thomas with a worse QB and an injured star WR. Thomas is the only jersey I own. Signed HOF edition. Enough said.

Looks solid in the run game. His pass blocking is below average. Instead of standing tall and absorbing the pass rusher he dips his shoulders and tries to deflect the pass rusher. That might work with Big 10 DEs but not NFL speed guys. NFL OT's beat the pass rusher after taking a drop, setting their feet, and delivering a powerful blow to halt the momentum of the LB or DE. He moves better in the run game than the pass game. Maybe he can find a way to battle for the RT spot.

1. Lorenzo Alexander - I don't think he will make it out of camp. If he does he will be just a special teams player. I still believe they will add a veteran OLB prior to the start of the season. 2. Ducasse - I think Miller will win the RG spot back. I would not be surprised to be 100% wrong here though. Ducasse played better the final five games. I just think Miller is a bigger, stronger, straight line blocker and will be more effective in a new scheme. But Ducasse was awful the first half of the season and Miller still couldn't win the job. 3. Peterman - The Bills will go with just two QBs and will hope they can sign Peterman to the practice squad 4. Kyle Williams - he wasn't that good last year. He will be worse this year. With Star occupying more blockers perhaps I will be wrong. With limited snaps maybe he can be effective as an inside pass rusher. He has never been great against the run. I hope I am wrong, but I see a retirement announcement a week into camp 5. Trent Murphy - I think he will be boom or bust. He is a PED guy coming off injury. If the Bills had added a DE in the second or third round I would say Murphy would be more than likely cut. At this point it will probably be 50/50 as the DE depth is terrible. ***Wildcard*** Zay Jones. All things being equal it is less than 1% chance a second year second round draft pick WR gets cut. Then again what are the odds you find yourself naked yelling at your brother who is stopping you from finding Jesus on the 30th floor? And what is the chance Zay dropped more passes than his brother's apartment building has floors???

I just have to believe that almost every one of these guys are on PEDs to keep up the muscle mass. No doubt calorie intake and weight training changes. But the average size of NFL lineman has increased dramatically in 30 years. Evolution doesnt happen that quickly. PEDs alone can not produce these changes but I don't tjink even these elite athletes can add this much muscle without help.

He and Murphy can trade PED sources

My Buffalo Bills Draft Grades
Dadonkadonk replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ray Ray is an UDFA level talent that will be a PS designee. Probably could have had both DBs a round later. I would have drafted an OLB in round 4. The Teller pick is probably more boom or bust than Allen. According to all I read he was a bottom of the first round talent in 2016 and was not good in 2017. Could be a huge steal and hell he might start game 1. -
You don't give up two second round picks to move up 5 picks for a LB. The third round pick was hard enough to swallow. If Edmunds was a top 10 pick why did he last until 16? Allen was gone at 7 if we didn't make the deal to get to 7. Now if you said I could have Rosen at 9 - giving up a second and a fifth, , Edmunds at 16 giving up a second, and keep #65 I would take that deal. I would have been happy with either Allen or Rosen.

Interesting quote from MMQB, possibly in reference to Bills
Dadonkadonk replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Once Mayfield went #1, there was no need to trade to #2. The Giants were taking Barkely or Darnold, leaving the Jets Darnold or Rosen. The Bills were taking Allen all the way. -
Current Bills on Chopping Block
Dadonkadonk replied to D. L. Hot-Flamethrower's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think they will caary three QBs. Alexander will not make it out of camp. Adolphus will backup DT and DE. Miller will win back starting G spot. If the rookie looks good, they will cut Ducasse. Lastly Ivory will be gone after the first preseason game. He is done. WR is a mess so who knows who will stick with that group. -
Position Group Ranking Post-draft
Dadonkadonk replied to Dadonkadonk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree with most comments above. I still put the overall group of DTs above the RB group. If I am going to be consistent though, then I need to knock the QB group down as they have not proven anything. I disagree with Ivory being a plus. He is on my short list along with Lorax of veteran training camp cuts. But Shady does not look like he will have a major drop off yet. If Edmunds and Milano play well, they could be a top 10 defense but just seems like a lot to ask of a 20 year old. Anthony Barr who he has drawn comparisons to was 22. Revised: S CB/Nickel DT RB DE P/PK/LS OT TE WR QB C/G MLB OLB -
Lorax will not make the team
