Sit tight and hope Allen falls to 12. If he does the Bills are set for a decade. He can sit for a year or two. If AJ is a star then you can trade Allen. With the remaining picks get a WR a OG and 5 defenders. The whole draft hinges on what the Giants do at #2. If they take a QB then the best move is to wait and see if Allen or Mayfield falls to 12. If they are not going to take a QB then a trade can be made to get the QB the Bills truly want or if they take Barkely the Browns will probably trade out of #4. Honestly I'm ok either way. Both approaches will be fine. They have AJ and should be competitive at the QB position for the next two years.

Darryl Talley was a grat player. He was a B- player who played behind the greatest DE in NFL history. He missed more tackles in SuperBowl XXL than any other player and was the second reason they lost the game. He just was never that great and does not deserve a spot on WOF. Marv Levy was a great coach. He was a very good coach but not a HOF coach. He is the number one reason they lost SuperBowl XXL. He didnt control the players during the week and let Kelly keep throwing. Thurman would have had 250 all purpose yards had he told Kelly to stop.

Was breaking the drought worth it?
Dadonkadonk replied to The 9 Isles's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Completely agree with your assessment. Glenn would not have allowed a move much higher than 12. The only thing that will get us higher than 12 is giving up multiple draft picks. -
Speculation...Hughes to Giants???
Dadonkadonk replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hughes is far more valuable as a player for the Bills than any trade compensation they woukd receive. He might fetch a 5th round pick but the Bills probably would have send back a pick with Hughes. Not worth it. Giants have us by the balls. If the Bills want #2 pick it will take 4-5 picks this year or three first rounders. -
No RB coaches at Penn State pro day
Dadonkadonk replied to BuffAlone's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He won't last past #4 unless four QB's go in the first four picks. So that leaves two teams that need to see him. He will have private workouts for Browns and NY Giants. Jets are taking a QB. Bills if they move up are taking a QB. Denver and Colts are taking defense. -
So far it is a far criticism to say Beane has overpaid his FA signings. Could be he is afraid of losing them but he let Davis walk out of the building and still got him signed. Is this the premium that has to be paid to attract players to Buffalo? Not sure. It just puts more pressure to hit on the draft and makes it more likely than not they need to trade down at least once to get more picks. The two o-lineman they signed are borderline starters but not upgrades. The signings let Beane trade up for a QB and use the rest of the draft on the front 7. That leaves WR and TE as the biggest holes on the team if they can get two quality linebackers in second and third rounds.

1. Allen: elite arm, played in a more pro-style offense than all other QB's except Darnold, low comp % is scary though his supporting cast was terrible 2. Rosen: athletically probably the most all-around gifted QB but does not have near the arm of Allen or Darnold. Played in more than one offensive system at UCLA 3. Mayfield: may have second highest ceiling and the lowest floor, can accuracy trump height? He is either Drew Brees/Russell Wilson or pick any of 20 short QBs to flame out over the last 10 years. 4. Darnold: pro-style system with above average arm talent. Throws too many picks which for me is more of a red flag than Allen's comp percentage. Got worse as time went on just like almost all USC QBs do.

Why do u think Bills will be worse next year? Not to hijab my own thread. AJ is probably as good as TT. KB will be there all year. New OC. Star is an upgrade over the guys trying to fill in for Dareus. Multiple picks to add to the front 7. And on paper the schedule is not crazy difficult. You may be correct. But Jets did not trade up for a non-QB. That means at least two of top 4 players are a QB and it could be 3 of 4 if the Giants draft QB.

Ditka traded for a RB. No one other than Ditka thought that was a good idea. And every scenario I outlined keeps multiple picks for this year.

In most instances I would agree with you. The issue I have is why move to 12 if not to keep moving up. The move up cost them a quality OT. There is no difference in quality or bust probability between 12 and 21 for every position except QB. If they think one of the top 3 guys is franchise caliber then you have to go get one. In a perfect world, they stay put and Allen falls to them. Worst case scenario they keep all 6 picks in the first three rounds, half of them become day 1 starters and they see what AJ can do. I would probably trade #65 for a second in 2019 and a late third this year. Keep stockpiling every year. Not in your opinion, but I'm sure there is in Beane's. I'm sure he knows what he wants and where he wants to get his QB. What he doesn't know is what Denver, NYG, and Cleveland will do.

Why not give McCarron an honest chance?

Losman -
In any negotiation you have anchors where you will not go past. What is your anchor point for #2? I would give up as much as #12, #22, #65, and next year's first round pick. That is as far as I would go. Any deal that includes three first round picks can not include any of this year's second round picks. My initial offer would be #12,#22, #53, and next year's round two. If initial offer is rejected I would counter with the three first rounders, leaving my final anchor point as a last ditch attempt to get to #2. I hate trading up but if they really love one of the top 3 then this is the year to do it.

Which QB is most likely to fall?
Dadonkadonk replied to Dadonkadonk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. If the draft starts Darnold/Barkely and Denver goes with a player to win now, then the Bills can sit back and wait for pick 8 or so. Miami is not trading up. Arizona could try to jump over the BIlls. If Allen and Mayfield are still on the board at 6 then the Bills are set to get one of them. I want Allen. -
I have a feeling, the Browns take Allen first overall and Darnold falls to #4. This assumes the Giants take Barkely. If Darnold is available at #4 do you move up? I don't know. His turnovers scare me as does the history of recent USC QB's.
-
First of all the Giants have to want to make a trade. Second, if the Giants want to take Rosen or Allen it is game over. That means Browns get a QB and Barkely. Jets get a QB and the best QB on the board at that point is Mayfield who is not worth a top 5 pick. At that point it is best to sit at 12 and see if Mayfield falls. Mayfield is my least favorite of the top 4 but I woudl take him at 12. Rudolph and Jackson are guys that are borderline first round picks. In this doomsday scenario, I would be happy to take BPA at 12 or even move back a few spots and pick up another pick. They have AJ. I don't think much of him but he has shown he can play a little and some think highly of him. Put 6 more high draft picks around him and see what happens. That would be my approach if the Giants won't trade. If Allen is still on the board at #4(assuming Darnold, Barkely, Rosen go 1,2,3) I do whatever it takes to get to #4 ahead of the Broncos. If Cleveland shocks and takes Barkely then the G-men might be more open to a trade. If Cleveland shocks and takes Allen then Jets may have to choose from Darnold and Rosen.

Tremaine Edmunds & Best Available QB at 22
Dadonkadonk replied to RPbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen is far from a left over. He is the wildcard in the draft. He could go first or still be on the board at 12. -
Bills still have 7 major holes.
Dadonkadonk replied to The Bills Blog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
QB has been addressed and they will still draft another QB. RG is ok with either Ducasse or Miller. RT Mills is serviceable and this is worst draft for OT in two decades WR is huge need but can wait Two or three LB are needed and one will be taken in the second round Swing C/G in third would be nice. -
Jets just traded with Colts for #3 pick in first round
Dadonkadonk replied to Hurricane's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To get to #2 it will now take #12,22, next years number 1, and maybe even a bit more. Beane has to put his bug boy pants on now if they want Rosen -
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000921886/article/buccaneers-make-ryan-jensen-highestpaid-center 4 years over $10M per year. My number one target in FA. No way Bills could afford.

I'm ok with this. Move up and draft QB and then at least 4 front 7 defenders in the draft Don't see any hate on this thread. Apathy yes but no hate. Brown was not polarizing enough to hate nor good enough to care.
-
Because both had a drug (recreation or PED) related suspension and the reaction on this board was far different for the black player than the white player. I could have just as easily used Dareus though he had performance issues on the field. That was never an issue with Lynch. Yes and honestly I wouldn't care if they took both marijuana and HGH off the testing list. But as it stands right now another failed test and he is out for the year (it may be 10 games for PED but still most of the year)

Who is your favorite free agent signing so far?
Dadonkadonk replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To answer the OP question, I like the Davis signing. Should be a solid vet DB. Would like to have Gaines back and maybe the league won't overpay and he comes back on a reasonable salary. Doubt it but one can hope. Star should be an upgrade over current roster talent but still not nearly as good as Dareus. If Ivory averages 4.1 YPC and gets 20-30 cathces it will be a solid signing as well.
