  1. Guys, dont overthink it. Lets look at the opinions of experts. Such as oddsmakers, various NFL powerranksings, etc. https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-power-rankings-week-10-2024-nfl-season Bills are consistently in the top 5. They are contenders. Can this change in a week? Damn straight. Key players can get injured. Its the NFL. But right now? Yeah, of course Bills are one of the top contenders. This isnt a difficult concept.
  2. ahh...I'm not sure how one defines "true Superbowl contending team". To me, it would be one of the top 6 or so teams with a reasonable--define as at least 25% that of the top team--chance. So, KC is +400, Lions are +450, Ravens +600, Bills +800. And, of course, its obvious that any Super Bowl winner needs a few bounces along the way. Unless you're talking about a truly dominant team, like the 18-0 2007 Patriots. That comment is a bit sarcastic, as the dominant 2007 Patriots actually lost the game where they didnt get all the bounces. Point being, there is no team in todays NFL that is truly dominant. A team that you'd take against the field. Chief are +400. To me, Bills would fit the definition of legit contender.
  3. Maybe McD can subtly remind the officials that they owe us one.
  4. Couple of thoughts. 1) As stated above, there certainly is recent precedent to eject a player for these types of hits. Like last nite. 2) Poyer is a repeat offender. Including his time with Bills. So I think he deserves a suspension in addition to a fine. The wrist injury was just bad luck and not relevant to any penalty, fine, or suspension fir roughness
  5. Call me crazy, but i think Bills coaches are giving him a chance to show how he transitions and plays different coverages in practice.
  6. Maybe a tiny bit off topic, but this somehow seems appropriate here.
  7. Yes. That was a cheap shot. Poyer deserves a fine and a couple weeks off.
  8. Does anyone know what Allen’s speed on that 30yd TD? I think there might be a next gen stats site that tracks this. I would bet he hit over 20 mph, maybe 21-22.
  9. By rule that was PI. The dolphin CB was going for the ball, so that was ok. But with his other arm he was around Coleman’s waist and pulling him down. So yea, PI
  10. Just rewatched the play. That was a cheap shot by Poyer. I hope he gets a week or two off.
  11. I was the right call. Punt or Hail Mary would be playing not to lose. im a big PSU football fan. PSU coach played not to lose and ended up with zero points after a first and goal inside the 5 at end of first half. Psu lost the game.
  12. Or the days when Bills had a player who was more of a punt catcher than punt returner.
  13. Now that the thread has moved to complaints about British English, let me add a few.. Why is it that Brits will randomly throw extra vowels into perfectly good words? Such as oesophagus, haematology, and leukaemia? Also, for reasons I don’t understand, many American physicians will pronounce centimeter as “sontimeter”. I think that they think it makes them sound smart. But for some reason, they’re not complaining that a cup of coffee now costs 50 sonts more than it did in the last sontury.
  14. This is funny, as my Brit colleagues use the c word liberally “I was really c*nted last night”, and Americans rarely use that word when any recording devices are out. Spaz is sort of an ancient term that I really don’t hear in everyday life. I don’t think Brady meant to insult Allen or an entire group of people, it just came off to me like something an 8 yo would have said 50 yrs ago. Sort of like the word “tard”.
  15. Excellent summary. You said what I was thinking far more eloquently than I could have.
  16. absolutely correct Rush 4 1 guy on each eligible reciever. 1 guy deep to cover tip 1 guy short to cover tip
  17. Watched the end of the Commies game yesterday. That was a terrific play by the QB, but also really bad D by the Bears. I’ve been a Bills fan since the late 60s, but don’t remember a single game won by Hail Mary. I might have missed one in the pre internet days when it was harder to follow out of town teams.
  18. In retrospect, the 1 spot drop which got us a 5 for 6 swap may not have been a great deal, cause we don’t get the 5th yr option on Coleman now. As an aside, I watched a bit of Legette yesterday. He doesn’t have nearly as much polish as Coleman.
  19. Good thing Jerry Hughes wasn’t on the field when this happened or he’d have gotten flagged.
  20. I’m thinking that our WR room got quietly better today.
  21. Doesn’t matter who the player is. Non contact knees that buckle like that are either ACL or medial meniscus injuries.
  22. Geno threw that into a tub of goo and it stuck.
  23. Is that true? I thought that once you started taking social security you were practice squad ineligible
  24. So, if these numbers are true, you are saying that, on average, small LB are better than bigger LBs.
  25. I’m not debating whether the rugby evaluation is better than the NFL But the idea that it is better because it’s longer is just silly. if it takes you 10 minutes to scan 15 items in a self checkout line, and it takes me 3 minutes, are you doing a better job of scanning?
