  1. Not making this up. When my Uncle Rico was young, he could throw a football over mountains.
  2. A tiny bit off topic, but reminded me of this classic trick play. Oops https://www.maxpreps.com/m/news/71wiObbAfUWlRbY7x7iNKQ/video-wrong-ball-trick-play-goes-wrong.htm
  3. I put $100 on Josh for MVP at +850. Bills defense seems likely to take a step back this year. And give up more points. So Bills will need to score more points to win games. More offensive scoring means more passing yards for Bills. And Josh. Better stats means MVP. Now, of course this line of reasoning could also mean more Josh hero ball, more turnovers, fewer wins, and no MVP. im gambling that Josh has matured a bit, which hopefully decreases the low probability hero ball adventures. We’ll see. Go Bills!
  4. Commies at 11-6? Really? I live in the DMV, and even the local sports talk doesnt have them above 9 wins. Vegas has them at 6.5. Hard to take this very seriously.
  5. Bills QB is Josh Allen instead of Kelly Holcomb. Or JP Losman.
  6. Lolz. I was at that game. Was like 10-1 penalties in first half. Eagles kicker kicked a 60 yd FG in 35 degree pouring rain. Bass missed 2 and Davis turned the wrong way on potential game winning td
  7. Thanks for posting the RAS scores. Vine was heavily recruited by PSU out of high school and I’ve followed his career; was hoping Bills would take him in 21. I don’t know what happened in MN but he clearly fell out of favor. Hope that he can learn Bills scheme quickly.
  8. Depending on what the injury deal is, Hardy may not be that attractive to other teams. If Hardy heals up and is sitting on another teams practice squad, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Bills sign him to the 53 after the inevitable run of CB injuries.
  9. Goes without saying I watched all of Hardy’s college games. He was the return guy for only 6 games. He’s not real experienced, but I think he can be coached up to make better decisions. IMO he was a much better NCB than PR. Very sticky in coverage, good tackler, and good blitzer. Im not sure what the deal is with the injury rumors but it seems to have legs. Again, IMO, the only way he doesn’t end up on Bills practice squad or 53 is if he’s scooped up by another team.
  10. 1) Re Oliver "nowhere near a top 10 talent". Do yourself a favor and look at the data for 2018-2022. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2020/draft.htm. Oliver is a ++ starter, easily in the midrange of these draft picks. 2) Not sure how you say that Knox is more physically gifted than Kincaid. As far as i know, Kincaid didnt get a RAS score due to a late season injury. But watching the games, its pretty obvious that Kincaid is more talented at football than Knox.
  11. Maybe ima selling McSorely short.
  12. McSorely is an interesting thought. I think he could fill in for a couple games and do well, but that’s about it. Best Bills comp would be Flutie, but not quite as quick and lesser arm. His biggest shortcoming is size. DC would quickly realize he has trouble with intermediate middle routes because he has trouble seeing and identifying throwing lanes. Im guessing that’s why he hasn’t stuck with his prior teams. But for a couple games, he may do well.
  13. You're right, I'm confused. This entire discussion reminds me of Alice in Wonderland. "The failure is the construction of the WR room. You weren’t in position to add a prospect capable of losing reps to Mack Hollins this year. You needed to do better." So the failure isnt because Coleman is a failure, but because you needed to draft someone better than Coleman. But Coleman hasnt played a single snap of regulation NFL football. How do you know he wont be outstanding? What WR drafted between 20-50 is better than Coleman? You're entire argument is premised on Coleman not being successful. But how do you know that? Your eye test? Some other posters' eye test? But if your eye test is so wonderful, why arent you in an NFL front office? In essence, you guys are saying that you're smarter than Bill FO, based on, well, nothing. Meanwhile, I'm saying, ah, lets wait a few moments before we eviscerate the guys who have shown the most success at building a Bills team this century.
  14. The exact word he used was “failure”.
  15. C’mon dude, your stance doesn’t make any sense, and flys in the face of reality. Are all 32 1st round picks starting in game 1? And if they don’t, are they (the players and the GMs who picked them) all failures? Because that’s what you’re saying.
  16. FWIW, I’d take Shakir over Dotson right now. They’re similar players I think. Similar size, similar strengths. Dotson is faster and maybe a better deep ball tracker. Shakir is a better rote runner and separator and has more consistent hands.
  17. Ahh... Not exactly sure it would be crazy to play Dotson as Z and Smith in slot. Smith played about 1/3 of snaps in slot last year. Here's a couple data points. https://www.rotowire.com/football/player/devonta-smith-15406
  18. Having followed Hardy’s career in college, I think he’s a better CB than returner. He was PSU starting PR for only half the season, so I’m guessing the PSU staff thought the other guy was better. And Hardy did have 2 TDs but both against the UMass powerhouse. As a CB, Hardy is a dog. Really sticky without being grabby. Reminds me of Nikel Robey. Hardy is also a surprisingly good blitzer, had a few sacks as I recall.
  19. Ok. Agree to disagree. I think eagles will use Dotson mostly at Z and Davonte Smith as their slot. I guess we’ll see.
  20. Disagree. He’s best as a slot, but a much different player than Samuels. Dotson is a WR only, not a hybrid WR/RB. Dotson’s strengths are similar to Diggs or Shakir. Footwork, route running, hands, and ball tracking. I would have made this trade, and I’m not nearly as down in our existing WR group as some posters. I live in the DMV and follow the Commies. They’ve been a train wreck the past few years. Gotta at I’m surprised they gave up on him.
  21. I’m the opposite. I’m more interested in this season than the last two. I think that the team of the last 3 years. Diggs, Davis, Tre, Hyde and Poyer had peaked, thus the rebuild. There are fresh faces which may fail miserably, or may bring a Super Bowl to Buffalo. None of us know. Thus the excitement.
  22. Ah yeah, right. I forgot that rookies can’t get injured per new NFL bylaws. I think most people would take Coleman + MVS and Samuels over Coleman + two day 2-3 draft picks.
  23. It’s not really quite that simple. NFL WR run a bunch of choice or option routes, where a WR may be asked to run a flag route if the defense is in a cover 2, unless the CB I playing outside leverage. TheWR and the QB may interpret the same information differently. This is wher experience and multiple reps become important. im not sure why, but JA and Davis had a bunch of misreads last year. One let directly to OT loss at Eagles last year.
  24. https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/sports/football/nfl/bills/2024/08/12/ben-dinucci-buffalo-bills-sign-quarterback-hats-streetwear-true-brvnd-business/74772803007/ XFL vet. Maybe has some pointers on kickoff strategies.
  25. Nah, I was thinking Deon Sanders. BTW, Nebraska scored 84 on U Minnesota? Yikes!
