  1. It appeared that everyone on ST's was ready for a squib kick. Everyone but Bass. Apparently no one pulled him aside to tell him. You could see the teams players throwing their arms out when the ball was kicked like...WTF????
  2. I agree coaching is a big part...but injuries particularly on defense the last two years cannot be ignored. Injuries happen but multiple starters at every level of the defense have had a huge impact. Yet the Bills lost by less than 6 pts.
  3. The press has questioned McD about the Bills not reaching the SB. One inferred that since Josh has not yet reached the SB, he hasn't been successsful. McD defended him saying it was a narrow minded view to suggest the SB as the only crriteria for success. He offered that Josh has been successful and the Bills have been successful. However, he continued with "they need to take the next step." They played the footage on NFL Live and the question was posed to Sam Acho and Mina KImes whether they agreed with McD. Interestingly, they did, reasoning that if the only criteria to define success is winning a SB, there are very few successful teams. They also cited the 17 year drought and the strides the Bills have taken since McD got here and Josh was drafted. Like this board, they stated that unfortunately the Bills got successful at the same time Mahomes was drafted by KC. So...there is another step to be taken beyond their current success. Mina talked about the current roster more favorably than what has been offered by the media since all of the cuts had occurred. She mentioned their need to get younger, and then cited their loss of talent...which to me was rather contrary since the players they've moved on from are largely the older players. Still...I was appreciative of the positive comments.
  4. They just had Dean Blandino on One Bills Live. He talked about the potential new kick off rules...likely being tabled to the May meeting. He also addressed the Hip drop tackle and confirmed that the initial enforcement will be through film reviews and fines, not flags...as it will be a learning curve for both players and the referees.
  5. I don't look at it as a refusal to address the WR position as much as where we've been drafting, the quality has not been there in the first round at the WR position. It could be argued that even the WRs we've taken in later rounds have been just as good as those taken in the 2nd round for the most part. I am hoping that with the depth at that position in this year's draft, Beane uses one of the first two picks on a WR...the first if one of the top guys is there for the taking.
  6. And yet I always leave if they don't give me the deal I want.
  7. If we got those two players, I think I'd be happy!
  8. Texans have loaded up on the defensive side of the ball.
  9. Wasn't next year's second part of the trade with Houston?
  10. They've also done well with the WR picks in the later rounds. Davis was a good number 2 until he got the dropsies and Shakir has been excellent and seems to be getting better with more playing time.
  11. Good point. I'm a Penn State alum and fan. I hated when we drafted Maybin. I knew he'd be a bust in the pros.
  12. Apparently the Chiefs contacted Pittsburgh about trading for Johnson, but the Steelers avoided them, preferring not to help them out. Thank you, Pittsburgh.
  13. I ecpected a restructure for Mahomes. Bengals are not paying $30M per year to Jefferson...not with Chase up for a contract next year. So I don't expect much from that rumor. I thought Jags already had decent WRs so don't know how many wins they've added. Texans have made some solid moves. Can't deny that.
  14. Jags are pussyfooting. Apparently, if they sign Ridley prior to the start of the league year, they have to give Atlanta a 2nd round pick (per the initial trade agreement). If however, he is signed after the start of the league year, the compensation is only a 3rd round pick. Shefter was talking about this today on NFL Live.
  15. That's exactly it. They need to build around Young and see what they've got in him. So that means jettisoning the Defense and building up the Offense.
  16. More teams added to now needing QBs. Let's push those WRs down the draft!
  17. Out of that group, I would take Legette.
  18. This was expected and Chris Jones is getting the money he wanted and deserves...$32M per year. As to KC trading Sneed...I know there is interest from a number of teams, but if they are smart, they hold out. KC is asking for a 2, or so I've heard. Now with Jones' cap hit, they will be more desirous of moving Sneed to get his $19M off the books...or they could renegotiate...but it's still going to cost them likely $16M per year. So...teams should not be in a hurry to help KC out. They've won 3 SBs...they should pay a major price for that to the players largely responsible.
  19. Well perhaps it's a low 3rd (which they were expecting anyway) and the Bills have to give up one of their lower round picks in exchange.
  20. This makes sense especially if the Bills are targeting WR with their first pick. They could drop down a few slots, recoup a 3rd round pick and still have a nice selection of WR targets.
  21. You said he's a UFA, implying this year, when someone asked if he'd been cut. He's under contract through 2025.
