I agree. Listening to the pressers today. These are not bad guys who tried to beat the system. Both acknowledge that it is their responsibility to know what they are putting in their bodies and that they failed in that area. That is why they are not appealing the suspensions and are taking their punishment.
Listening to Beane, based on their prior records he had no reason to doubt their sincerity and move forward.
Listen to his presser. Hoecht took responsibility. He's simply explaining that he had always had his supplements tested by a third party and he stopped because he'd never had an issue. Yes, he got the supplements from his trainer, but he said it was his responsibility to continue the separate testing and he got complacent.
Hoecht said he was getting all of his supplements from his trainer. Additionally he'd have them tested to make sure he was taking what the product was labeled. Since he hadn't had an issue, he trusted his trainer and got complacent with the testing. After the season he was notified he'd tested positive for testosterone.
This is valid. Hoecht and his agent made the Bills aware during contract negotiation. Ogunjobi just found out in the past few days and immediately told Beane. His B sample results aren't even in yet.
Beane addressed this in his presser. He said that right now, they are tight on the cap. They love Benford and said they've got this year and will address a potential extension when the time is right, either before the season, during the season, etc.
Beane in his presser said that Ogunjobi had just found out (they don't even have the results of his B sample yet). He said because neither player has a history of issues and the market of other players had been depleted by signings, they decided to move forward with both players anyway.
Beane is talking now. He said that Ogunjobi just found out the other day and immediately contacted Beane. He said that because the market had been depleted and the fact that neither player had ever had any issues of this nature in the past, they decided to move forward.
There was a false report by AirRaid on Twitter that was a joke. It was from 2023. I and a couple others fell for it, much to my embarrassment. I have since unfollowed AirRaid.
It's got to be the neck issues that are keeping Samuel unsigned at this point. Beane has to have a plan, though, since he traded Kair. I'm also wondering if the back to back concussions are contributing to the wait on a Benford extension.
