Ah. Well that splains it!

Barley ... we're not talking a couple million. We're talking $211 million. Something is obviously amiss.

I don't recall it being Trepasso. I know who Trepasso is. This was some young guy on Zoom that they've had on before, I believe from PFF. I never catch his name, but he loved the Bills' draft.
-
There was a guy on OBL last week I think that talked about Prather. He was from PFF but I don't recall his name. He thinks that he'll be a better wideout in the pros than his teammate Tai Felton.

Spotrac is showing the Bills are $211M over the cap. I think someone may have misplaced a decimal point or two.
-
He'll obviously get more than them...but $15M is too much.

To me, Babich has to be better at DC. Maybe he didn't have the players last year, so this year there can be no excuses.

I disagree . I don't think it was planned at all. Beane was really yanked at the WGR criticism and the accusation that he doesn't value WRs. He defended drafting defense because that is the side of the ball that has failed miserably in the playoffs. Plus the value in this draft was clearly on the defensive side of the ball. I think the reason they led with the media criticism in the Embedded piece was that the National media overwhelmingly agreed with Beane and felt the push back against WGR was justified. They showed the ESPN, NFL, et al takes. It was only members of the local media that were critical of Beane. Plus, since the piece dealt with the draft, it was the perfect lead in.

Totally agree. They got the players they wanted, and were in lock step, especially with the first 5 picks. Even when they pivoted to offense, they got good value.

Beane: "After taking so many defensive players, I was worried Joe Brady was going to put my car on blocks."
-
Loved his combine interview.

Very obvious, McD really wanted Hairston! "We gotta get this guy." And he pointed out teams that needed a corner picking before Buffalo.

Watching as we speak. I always love draft insights.

I remember the first time I saw Ruth Buzzi. She was in a "magic" act with comedian, Dom Deluise. He played the magician, Dominic the Great, and she was his assistant Shagugula. I keep remembering Dom saying "No applause please. Save until the end." And Ruth just smiled with this goofy grin. It was laugh out loud funny! Next time I saw her was on Laugh In, which we watched as a family every week.

Elijah Moore Visiting the Bills today (Update: Signed!)

Beane said on OBL that he and Moore had conversations prior to the draft and decided to "stick a pin in it" until after the draft to garner interest depending on what the Bills did (sign a WR, what round, etc). Since Beane did not have an available WR that he valued where he was drafting, above other players, he waited until round 7. Based on that, the mutual interest was there post draft. That's why Moore was in the building right after the draft. -

Thank you, Gonzo. To many dates are being thrown around. Didn't it used to be June 1 and not the day after the draft? -

If Rasul Douglas or Cooper signs, they may get us back to zero. -

"Crash Out" is mild compared to some takes I've seen posted. Buffalo Rumblings headline included "expletive-laden." -
Elijah Moore Visiting the Bills today (Update: Signed!)

I think the reason Beane "crashed out" was that Beane explained the draft in his post draft presser. He said that had there been a WR at a position of value as opposed to those players he drafted in rounds 4 thru 7 he would have grabbed one. There wasn't. So...he hears the radio guys griping about him not drafting a WR and accusing him of devaluing the position, and he defended himself. These same radio guys thought he drafted the wrong Josh and griped about that in 2018. So he started out with a trip down memory lane. He's built a winning roster. He realized that in each instance for not advancing to the Super Bowl, it was the defense that let the team down, not the lack of a WR. First off...why can't we give Beane the benefit of the doubt? Secondly, do your homework and listen to the pressers and the way he already addressed the questions beforehand. BTW, they talked about the radio interview on NFL Live and as much as they would have liked the Bills to add speed at WR (Mina Kimes especially), by and large they could not argue with Beane's approach to the draft noting the defensive woes during the playoffs. -
Beane said as much today on OBL. He said sometimes they have the desire to move up for a player, but can't find a trading partner willing to move down to their spot.

Elijah Moore Visiting the Bills today (Update: Signed!)

The WGR interview did not prompt Elijah Moore coming in. Beane was on OBL today. He said they had discussions with Moore prior to the draft and decided to "stick a pin in it" until post draft depending on what Buffalo did. For example, had the Bills drafted a WR in the first or second round, likely the interest would wane on both sides. Since the value wasn't there for Buffalo and they waited until the 7th round, the interest on both the Bills and Moore's end is higher. I got the impression, Moore was already in the building. -
Bills First Rnd pick in 2025 draft: Maxwell Hairston - CB - Kentucky
jkeerie replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
You may be right, but largely a sexual assault is not something a woman wants to publicize. Even though there is more success in prosecuting cases with DNA testing, women are very hesitant to come forward publicly. There is still always the he said/she said aspect challenging consensuality, having one's sexual history put out for public consumption. When you post to social media, you aren't looking for justice. You're looking for something else in "the court of public opinion.". That something else could be a number of things ranging from vindication to vengeance. Naturally, this is just my opinion. -

Beane did address this in his presser. They and the NFL found there was nothing there. In fact, Hairston offered at the time to take a polygraph.
