  1. I'm totally fine with them losing. I just think it's silly to think that it means less to beat them undefeated than it is to beat them with one loss already. As if to say the Bills have some unfair advantage because of the extra motivation you get facing an unbeaten team (as if that's how our coach and players operate anyway...).
  2. I was going to make the same comparison. Coordinators can certainly come in and run the same offense. And I would expect them to add their own perspective, own plays, and own wrinkles to the offense. I bet McDermott would make it clear that they are not willing to have a full change of offensive scheme. If Dorsey is the guy, that transition would be really easy. If they want to bring in a third party, it might be a little tougher because a lot of coordinators would want to run their own scheme. So it's up to McDermott to find a coordinator that is willing to work with the current system in place.
  3. So you're saying if the Bills would beat them when they are undefeated it would be a lesser victory because the Bills would have additional motivation? That's... pretty dumb.
  4. Nobody claimed the offense was good. We all just realized that it takes some time to add talent and coach up young guys like Allen. Meanwhile, we went to the playoffs two out of three years and fixed the cap. If you want to condemn the coaches and GM for offensive failures the past couple of seasons, go right ahead. It just is not a fair or logical way to look at it. The team was rebuilding. There was huge turnover. We had a young, extremely raw QB prospect. And other NFL coaches and GM's give ours a ton of credit and praise. And Flores for the Dolphins has openly said that he is using McDermott and Beane as an example and template for fixing the Dolphins.
  5. 300 yards is not the meaningful threshold. The real number is like 200 to 220. Less than that and yes, you are limiting your team's ability to win. But I highly doubt that getting over 300 yards is equated with more winning than, say 250 yards. Seriously. Nick Mullens threw for 300 yards against us. He must be super awesome. Oh, and also two INT's, but who's counting?
  6. He is routinely suggested as a replacement for Daboll.
  7. No. I don't excuse you. Now go root for the Pats. You would fit in well with their arrogant fan base.
  8. It's certainly nice to have some competent backups who can step up and play when needed. But I still want to see more from Bates. I've liked what I have seen whenever he is on the field. I guess you have been the Boettger advocate. I have been the Bates advocate. Honestly, I think both are good players.
  9. Wow. I guess you should be coaching the team? Is that what you are trying to say? You should probably be GM too, I reckon. Maybe owner as well?
  10. We'll have OC candidates lining up to come coach this explosive offense. We'll get the cream of the crop. I am not concerned.
  11. Sorry, he still shanks them sometimes and sometimes out kicks the coverage. Hey, I'm a Bojo defender. He does need to be more consistent though.
  12. It was a great punt too. Keep developing him. If he gets more consistent we'll have two of the strongest, best legs in the NFL.
  13. I think the turnovers have hurt him in the MVP conversation. But if he goes on a nice run, who knows?
  14. Yeah, that's pretty awesome. That was one of the statistics I saw this week, that Allen is one of only a couple QB's who is top 5 in QBR against BOTH man and zone. That's pretty impressive. And he proved he knows what to do against both tonight.
  15. He did, other than the 2nd QB sneak. I thought that was a bad decision. I also think Allen telegraphs the sneak a little too much. He seems to lean over the center more before taking the snap. If I noticed it, for sure opposing defenses have noticed. The other call I didn't like was running it on 2nd and goal from the 10 yard line. They picked up 2 or 3. I'd rather take an extra shot at the TD than pick up a couple meaningless yards. I think that was the drive we went for it on 4th down and got stuffed. But overall I really like how Daboll calls the games.
  16. Oh yeah. I was really quick to condemn that pick. Such a horrible, horrible decision. Even if he turned out good it would have been a terrible pick.
  17. I'm sure Sherman has a lot of respect for Allen after tonight. He got beat a ton, and had that PI against Diggs.
  18. That's what I'm thinking. The Steelers were close to or at the top in their division ever since he has been there most years, so we would face them only on the normal rotation. And he was out last time we played them. Pretty sure McDermott has not faced Big Ben as Bills HC. So everything else is moot. Makes sense that a good Steelers team would beat our crappy drought teams.
  19. The only team that finds ways to win and makes up for errors better than the Bills is the Chiefs. They are legitimately the only team I have doubts we can beat. I mean, we obviously could, but I think they would win it 7 out of 10 times against us. There are other teams that are probably better than the Bills as well, but it's really close, and you know of the Bills come out and fire on all cylinders they could beat anyone.
  20. I saw them pick up blitzes expertly and give him time. They are really, really good. Yeah, Big Ben does get rid of it quickly sometimes and that helps them out, but I was watching them and came away impressed by what they did. And those receivers dropped like 1 million balls today. You have to know that will be emphasized for them all week. Hope they keep it up against us.
  21. It likely seeps all the way through, so all sides are the drool sides.
  22. I'll tell you what, that Steelers offensive line looked REALLY impressive to me. And they mentioned Big Ben hasn't been sacked in 18 quarters of football. And he wasn't sacked today. I think we can expect a very physical game in the trenches. I hope our dline is up to the challenge (and oline, for that matter). It's because he isn't a great athlete (compared to some of the freaks in the NFL, that is). He is a smart, consistent player, though. And he seems to not let emotions and pressure get to him. He just stays even keeled. When you have an all pro on one side, the other corner is going to get victimized sometimes. He gets a ton of targets because they avoid White. I guess I'm not as concerned as others are. Don't get me wrong, the Bills should try to upgrade. It would be amazing to have two really good corners. But you can do a lot worse than Wallace as a CB2.
  23. A three way tie uses different tie breaker rules.
  24. I have never suggested that Jones is a bust. He just seems pretty average to me. What has ALWAYS set Allen apart, even from his rookie season, is his clutch factor, his 4th quarter and red zone play, his competitive fire, and his supreme athleticism. Jones doesn't have anything like that. He doesn't have any of those separating factors, in my opinion. Even as Allen struggled, you always knew he had those special things about him.
  25. I'm thinking he'll get 14-15 mill. I guess I'll leave that up to McDermott and Beane. If they think he is worth it I'll have to defer to them. I'm still kind of on the fence with him, but there's no questioning what a freak athlete he is and body he has. He would be tough to replace.
