Josh Allen Draft Commercial (I love this man)
MJS replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seriously. One of the dumbest comments I've ever heard regarding Josh Allen. He helped the Bills go to the playoffs his 2nd year. He showed flashes of what he could do in every single game he ever played those first two years. So idiotic. Anyone who says that didn't watch him play. -

That might be a disincentive at this point... -
Devin Singletary - Will he be playing for the Bills this year?

I do think he will be on the team and a significant contributor. -
NFL admits it screwed Buffalo 15 months after-the-fact

I would suggest reading the rule. The important part is coming back towards your own end zone. Ford did that. The only argument is whether or not his hit was "forcible" contact or not. The word forcible implies "vigorous or strong". It wasn't a big hit, but Ford did thrust forward, leading with his shoulder, and almost left the ground with the force of his contact. The defender was able to defend himself and counter the momentum pretty well, which is partly why the hit did not seem like much, in my opinion. I thought it was a good call at the time, albeit ticky-tack. -

Well, I agree with you for the most part. I think it was dumb of Ford to do that. All he has to do is extend his arms and push the guy. Or even just run and try to get in the way. I felt like it was consistently called within the definition of the rule, albeit a ticky-tack call. I see the point of some people who say it wasn't "forcible" contact, but that's too much of a gray area to expect the officials to say one thing is forcible and one thing is not. -
Of course they are. Eventually they'll be pushing for virtual games, too. Just have both teams login and play Madden. Players safety, you know.

I don't see why anyone needs to worry. Our defense was not bad last year, especially as the season progressed. It was an average defense that played like a top 10 defense late in the year. I think people are a little spoiled at having a top 5 defense for so long. I don't like his lack of mobility and explosiveness. His 40 time and 3 cone drill were really disappointing.
-
Based on what? If he is a top 10 nickel corner, why did McDermott bench him? I totally agree that you can do worse than Taron Johnson. If we go with him in 2021 I will not be shocked or disappointed. But he is just an average player. I don't see how anyone could think he is top 10 at his position. He makes plays sometimes. He gets beat fairly often. An upgrade would be nice at some point.

If they had every crime on the news from the general population you could read until your eyes fall out and not even scratch the surface. You hear about NFL players because they are famous and the stories get clicks. But they do not commit more crimes than normal. In fact, they commit less than normal. Look up thread at the actual rates. NFL players are well behaved for the most part. It is a shame that a few bad apples seem to spoil the entire bunch just because people make assumptions based on a few, isolated incidences.

You beat me to it. My thoughts exactly. I actually like Taron Johnson, but he is totally replaceable and an upgrade there would help this defense a ton.
-
Is Johnson so valuable? I know he made a couple great plays down the stretch last year (one a historic play), but he is a liability sometimes in pass coverage. I like the way he plays the run, but I wouldn't mind if we had more options than just Taron Johnson. Don't get me wrong, I don't think he completely deserved all the hate he got early last year, but he does have his issues. And obviously McDermott agrees because he benched him against the Chiefs the first go around.

I wasn't a big fan of the personalities of Lesean McCoy and also Stevie Johnson. McCoy was always pretty narcissistic, but I do think he was excellent and hard working on the football field. Johnson seemed pretty full of himself as well, and I didn't like the episode of blaming God when he dropped that pass. But these are just minor things. I wish both guys well and aknowledge their contributions to the team, especially during tough years.

What about Ted Bundy? Should we have sympathy for him? Adolph Hitler? Stalin? Pablo Escobar? Are we supposed to talk about how hard it must have been for these guys because surely they all had mental illness that led to their murders? Mental illness is not an excuse for murder or genocide. Millions of people live with those same illnesses without managing to kill a bunch of people.

Who’s the ONE guy you want the Bills to draft no matter what!!?

I also am not a Will Ferrell fan. He is pretty much the same character in every movie and it gets kind of old to me. What really did it was that basketball movie he was in. Not a single joke was funny to me. He did a terrible job on that one. But, I can see why some people love him. He has a few movies that are really funny. -

Am I defensive? I don't feel defensive. Just giving more facts about that game. -
Go look elsewhere, I suppose.

The big two asterisks is that they played by CFL rules and it was just a preseason game for the Bills. The Bills finished last in the AFL East that year and the Tiger Cats went to the Grey Cup, but lost to Winnipeg in overtime. The Bills had only been in existence for a year, right?
