  1. You'd start him over Knox? Knox has almost matched Hollister's career stats in 2 seasons, whereas Hollister has been in the league for 4 seasons. I just think Hollister seems like a depth signing. But hey, we'll see.
  2. Personally, I think people are crazy to think that Hollister is going to be a major contributor. He is your average, run of the mill TE that you can find on any team.
  3. Yeah. He's been back in the league for only a year and somehow is the 15th highest tenured coach. That's crazy to me.
  4. The post I responded to specifically stated that he could get cut due to his vaccine status. No team would touch that with a 10 foot pole. If Beasley violates protocol, he'll get fined and be ineligible to play, plus possibly have to quarantine. If I were the Bills, I'd let that situation play itself out and allow the NFL and NFLPA to work it out. I would not take a stance, and I certainly would not cut him.
  5. I'm interested in the interior oline battles. Will Forest Lamp push for a starting spot? A rookie? What will Cody Ford look like? Can Ike Boettger develop further and lock down a spot?
  6. Absolutely crazy that Bruce Arians is the 15th longest tenured head coach in the league. Holy cow.
  7. If Cole Beasley gets cut for his vaccine status, all hell will break loose. The NFLPA will have a field day. Why would Beasley be often injured this season?
  8. Man, that's crazy. I feel like McDermott is just now coming into his own and producing a team that can consistently contend. Just shows how hard it is to build a winning team. It takes so many things. Players, development, scouting, drafting, paying for the right free agents, finding a quality QB, having effective schemes, staying innovative and unpredictable, culture, fundamentals, contracts, motivating the team, and the list go on. It's just a dang hard job to get it all right and find people to help you get everything right.
  9. It sure was fun having a great pass rush.
  10. I say you're wrong. Now what? I guess we cancel each other out.
  11. To be honest, the Bills were not much more talented Allen's rookie year. I'd say they were even worse than that list on offense. So I'd say that team could win a solid 5 or 6 games.
  12. Announcers do usually talk about how good our safeties are, but yeah, they don't go on and on about it. Poyer actually is a pretty good hitter, in my opinion. I seem to remember Hyde having a huge hit on someone last year... anybody remember that?
  13. And that's exactly what we didn't have in previous years: elite talent. Josh Allen has grown into an elite player. Diggs is elite. White is elite. If we could add (or develop) a top 5 pass rusher, this team would just be set for years to come and contending for Super Bowls every year. Having good depth and coaching is important for consistent winning, but having elite playmakers is what puts you over the top. It's great to see that we are finally putting all the pieces together.
  14. Come on. Go look it up. That was nothing. Everything was completely dropped because he did nothing wrong.
  15. McCoy was a great player and he always ran hard and gave his all. By no stretch of the imagination was he ever a good mentor for other players, though. Good friend and teammate? Probably. But a mentor? No way. I'm just glad he didn't get other players into trouble or cause problems in the locker room.
  16. It's not even close to a debate. The Chiefs have a boat load of crappy people. Far more than the average football team.
  17. I didn't discount the first 12 games. I said they struggled early on and got better as the season progressed. That's exactly what they did. The individual I responded to was discounting the previous years of defensive success and saying that the investments the team made int he defense did not produce. But they have produced. McDermott has had a too defense his entire time in Buffalo except for the first few games of the 2020 season.
  18. And my point is that previous years, also years that you are discussing the assets put into the defense, they were one of the best defenses in the league. The Bills defense in 2020 struggled early on, but towards the end of the season was producing like a top 5 unit. That's what brought their averages up to middle of the pack. 2020 was a strange season. It is silly to believe, given the consistent success of the defense and their improvement in 2020, that they are an average unit.
  19. The Bills have had one of the best defenses in the NFL the past handful of years. They absolutely HAVE been producing. A rocky start to 2020 and all of the sudden we are claiming that the Bills have had a bad defense? They haven't. And they turned it around and played very well down the stretch even in 2020. This narrative is just so false it's funny.
  20. There's also an extra game to consider.
  21. Well, you know what they say about broken clocks...
  22. I'm not really comparing them. I'd be fine with both of them leaving. I like Hughes. He is a good player. But I don't put as much stock into pass rush win rate and pressures as everyone else, apparently. I want a defensive end who can finish. I have always felt that Jerry Hughes shines best when he has another elite rusher to take the pressure off him, like when he had Mario Williams. But we haven't had that in a long time. He's old. He is a decent player. But I'd move on from him if there was a good offer or if the young guys show they can contribute sooner than expected. As for Addison, I think he is a better player than what he showed last year, but I would not mind moving on from him either. Advanced stats tell a story, but they will never be worth as much as the basic stats of sacks, hits, tackles, tackles for loss, forced fumbles, etc. That's my opinion, anyway. And I do pay attention to Hughes in the game and he does have an impact, but not as much as I would like. He'll put together a good game or two, sometimes a really excellent game, then have a stretch of three games where his impact is minimal.
