  1. Neither were dirty, in my opinion. The first one had a bad outcome, but he got hit right as he threw and I'm sure he counted as a runner there (if not, he probably should have gotten the flag because he was hit low). Second one is not a flag in any way. Not sure how any fan could complain about that. He hit him at the waist level and fell down with him.
  2. Rob Johnson threw for 131 yards, had a completion percentage of 45.5%, thew zero TD's, and was sacked 6 times, for a wonderful rating of 64.8. Those who say he had a good game are either misremembering or trying to sell you something. He DID have a final drive where he led the team down for a score (bringing the total to 16 points). But that's about all he was good for. Rob Johnson was a terrible QB. Yes, we should all be able to agree that he was a loser, regardless of where everyone was on the Flute vs Johnson debate. He was great at losing games. He was 9-17 as a starter in Buffalo.
  3. I agree 100%. I like him as a player, but I am so sick of hearing how great a pass rusher he is when he never gets sacks. I get it. Pressures are important. But "great" pass rushers get pressures AND sacks. Doesn't matter if they are double teamed. Doesn't matter if they are held. They finish. Hughes is a good complementary pass rusher, but he needs a dominant guy on the other side to take away the focus on him in order to play to his potential. That's why he did so well when Mario Williams was on the other side. Hopefully one of the new guys becomes that, but Hughes will probably be gone by the time that happens. Hole heartedly agree. I do not know if he is qualified to grade players watching the all-22. I put as much stock in his grades as my friend Joe Schmo sitting on the couch next to me. But kudos to him for doing it.
  4. So far he has been our most consistent receiver this season. He is obviously an upgrade. Him coming in has little to do with other players getting less or more playing time. The Bills want a more balanced approach running the ball and also utilizing TE's in the passing game. That means less instances of 4 WR sets, so guys like Davis aren't on the field as much. Beasley has always had great games and games where he is less utilized just based on the game plan and how things are going. This was the same last year.
  5. If they got a bunch of draft picks as well, that would be a home run. Tua can hold down the fort till they get a real QB.
  6. They really, really needed a sustained drive there. They should have grinded out first downs, not thrown the ball deep unless they had it open. I agree.
  7. Personally, I'm a little unhappy with Daboll's play calling in the red zone. Either he gets too cute or he tries running it up the middle to get stuffed. He really needs to work on his red zone packages. It's almost as if he is scared to just have Allen throw it into the end zone or call normal plays.
  8. That would be impossible the way Brady does it. He pushes immediately forward right over his center and doesn't leave any time for tackles to be pushed into him or anything else.
  9. I don't think half the board is blaming Allen. Most are blaming the defense.
  10. I thought it was a below-the-belt move by Vrabel. They probably thought they were being funny.
  11. Before the season if you would have asked me how I'd feel coming out of the Chiefs and Titans 1-1, I'd take it. Ideally you beat both of them, but you can't win them all. This will be a good wake up call for the team. They have a lot of great film to review and will be able to identify some issues to clean up and some personnel that isn't getting the job done.
  12. Tom Brady just snaps the ball and barrels his way through. Allen has been hesitating and looking for an opening lately. That was not the time to do that. If you are going to sneak it, just put your head down and do it. I don't prefer the sneak there anyway. Our interior oline is kind of weak. Roll Josh out and let him find a running lane or an open pass.
  13. This is just nonsense. Edmunds had a good game. I seriously do not know what you people are watching.
  14. It has been proven over and over that McDermott is not a conservative coach and has countless instances of being aggressive and going for it on fourth down. He sometimes chooses a conservative route, and sometimes you should as a coach. A coach needs to know when to be aggressive and when to be conservative.
  15. It is a penalty. But it's also smart to try to punch the ball out. Just can't miss and hit people. If you miss bad enough and punch someone, the intent doesn't matter.
  16. What a bunch of BS. Feel sorry for other fans and teams if you want, but I have no intention of doing so.
  17. Possibly, but the defender definately shoved Murray too. So, whatever. I am not outraged by the call, personally. But it was definitely a weak one.
  18. On the particular call in question, if Murray would have fallen down (flopped to get a call like a lot of players do, including Josh Allen) it would have looked like a pretty legit roughing the passer. Murray released the ball, the defender took multiple steps toward him and gave him a shove. Definately a weak call, but defenders should know not to do that. If they see a ball released, they should be doing everything in their power to avoid contact because that's the way the game is played now and you don't want to hurt your team with a penalty.
  19. No, suspensions don't make any sense for refs. They are humans making judgement calls. The rules are ambiguous enough to make some of these things hard to officiate. I think they do a better job than most think. But as long as we have humans as refs, there are going to be elements of missed and poor calls in the game.
  20. Rob Johnson wasn't a draft pick for the Bills.
  21. He threw a ton of interceptions. That's on him. He lost a ton of games. That's partly on him. And I think if you were to ask him if he has been playing better in recent years than he did in Buffalo, he would say yes. He has made comments recently that he is playing the best football of his career.
  22. I created a QB index awhile ago that looked at passing and rushing stats. I also included wins, playoff appearances, championships, etc. These are how the post Kelly era QB's rank in that index: Josh Allen Tyrod Taylor Doug Flutie Kyle Orton Drew Bledsoe Ryan Fitzpatrick Kelly Holcomb Trent Edwards Rob Johnson Thad Lewis Todd Collins JP Losman EJ Manuel Matt Barkley Alex Van Pelt Nathan Peterman Jeff Tuel Derek Anderson Brian Brohm What did Fitz do besides lose a ton of games? Yeah, he is a good guy. He is smart and funny. But he was not a good QB for the Bills. He was exciting because he threw the ball all over the place, but it was almost as likely to go to a defender as it was to a receiver. Fitz today is a much better QB than he was with the Bills. Tyrod Taylor was a better Bills QB than three of the four QB's you listed, in my opinion.
  23. People were wrong. The team wasn't as bad as everyone thought.
  24. I agree. People talked about how great he was leading his team to a 5-11 record. Honestly? The team just probably wasn't as bad as everyone thought that year. I can point to plenty of Bills teams that "overachieved" and still only pulled out 6 or 7 wins. Last year they had Fitz to give them a few miracle plays and wins. I think the personnel decisions he has made each year have been bad. He is probably a decent coach overall, but definately not a top coach in the league. His first year he went 5-11. It wasn't a good season.
