Given the time of the voting, this makes sense. It wasn't until after the Tampa Bay game that Allen really went nuclear and started dominating, and then took it to another level in the playoffs. Everyone saw it. If the vote happened in February he would have been higher. Potentially top 5. He will be a man on a mission this year and take the league by storm. I feel it and I think a lot of other people feel it too, including many who aren't even Bills fans.

What Bills QB has not taken cheap shots from the fans? That's the nature of the position.

Our new punter will be (Update pg. 38 - Martin Signed)

All the fine ones are taken too. Whoever we sign will be a lesser punter. -
I used to think Donald was pretty calm and collected. He is pretty soft spoken. But he has shown that he is kind of a jerk. He definitely drank his own cool aid. Phenomenal player, but I feel like his personality has changed. He also tried to choke a player last year.

All the good punters are on a team already. If you pick one up off the garbage heap, they are going to be less than ideal and you are going to need to worry about them. That's where we are. -

I remember he got a lot of penalties for dumb stuff like taunting and other preventable stuff. I think he had some good kicks, but lacked consistency. Kind of like Bojo. He got popular because of his unique personality and story, not because he was an elite punter. After being cut by the Raiders unexpectedly, the Broncos signed him and he wasn't great. He was placed on IR and then cut. And that's the last we saw of him. -
Yes. Do you have doubts?

Elam and Benford both showed flashes of excellence, in my opinion.

Whoever it is, their nickname needs to be something like "Punt Angel" or "Punt Boy Scout". Yes, and forward passes used to be against the rules. Things change. -
McDermott/Beane press conference 8/27: Matt Araiza released
MJS replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
I like their explanations. Everything they said makes sense. This is something that could drag on without a resolution for more than a year. You can't have a player on your team for that long playing in games like everything is normal. And I like how they said that Matt Araiza needs to focus on this and not on football. Makes sense. Good on them for trying to do the right thing, not rushing to judgement, and trying to do what they can with the information they have. I do think they have a lot more information than we do. And I think they were far more transparent and honest than they even needed to be. Proud of Beane and McDermott. They are really good guys. If Araiza turns out to be innocent, I hope the Bills are the first team in line to welcome him back. If he is guilty, may he rot in hell. -
A lot of them do both in college. Matt Araiza was a pretty good kicker as well as punter. But I'm the NFL you have to be elite (relative to the general public) at your craft and can't devote time to both without sacrificing your ability to be elite at one.

I don't know why this is so hard for people to accept. The mob justice urge will never die, it seems. This is so much bigger than a "distraction" or an inconvenience to your favorite football team. You do what's right regardless of how inconvenient it is. It's not right to fire someone without the facts first.
-
He is a human being and it is wrong to fire human beings without allowing the facts to come out first. I'm not defending him. I'm defending truth and justice. We have a legal process for a reason. This isn't the wild west.
-
The football season is what matters to you in this? I find principles of innocence and justice to be more important, even if it is a distraction for the team. It is WRONG to fire someone without going through the proper steps to ensure that there is actual cause for it. To do that, you have to wait for the facts to come out.
-
You read an article. You must be an expert on the law and know exactly what happened, right?
-
Let's find the nearest tree and hang him right now! Due process be damned!
-
When is a snap judgement and execution ever a good idea? "Wait and see" is always the correct approach. If it turns out he was in the wrong, he'll be cut. If he is innocent, the Bills will keep him. Any other outcome is just stupid. It's mob mentality. It's frontier "justice". If waiting for the fact to come out is too hard for you, go root for another team. These were the same people calling for Ed Oliver to be cut. What happened with him? If Araiza is guilty, the facts will come out and he will face justice. Allow the process of justice to happen.

Wow. 147 pages. I guess everyone has it all figured out.

I think Beane said they would actually be a bit over the cap to start the season (contrary to what the cap websites have been claiming), so this is to get under the cap and to get a little spending room for the season. I do not expect them to sign anyone of note after this.

13 Bills players make CBS Sports All AFC East team
MJS replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sanders wasn't good last year. Only 74% field goal percentage. Bass was 87.5%. In fact, Bass has both a better career field goal percentage and XP percentage than Sanders. -
He's not a good blocker.
-
He only shows up against Buffalo. He disappears in too many other games.
-
I want him to have a Josh Allen kind of career. Running the ball does not lead to more injuries. QB's are hurt more in the pocket than anywhere else. In fact, Cam Newton was beat up IN THE POCKET, not on his run plays.
