  1. The Titan's punter is Buffalo area born/raised. His father was a professional soccer goalie and the former owner of a local collegiate summer baseball team-the Niagara Power. Real nice people. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niagara_Power https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cal_Kern https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brett_Kern
  2. Couple Allen related thoughts: Allen really needs to learn to feel the pressure better. You watch any of the top QBs and they are able to make the most out of just taking a few steps within the pocket. With him though, it just feels like he gets happy feet and stops thinking about how to move about in the pocket to maximize his chance to get off a good throw. When we had Tyrod, it was hard to evaluate how good our receivers really were. It's the opposite now; it's hard to evaluate Allen's progress because of how bad our receivers (and o-line) are. Along the same lines, I think it's difficult to say how bad (or good?) of a game Daboll is calling when their is team-wide failure to execute on offense.
  3. Why was he being marginalized in Tennessee? Was his play falling off? I don't watch the Titans at all, but looking at their list of receivers.. it's hard to imagine a decent player struggling for playing time in that particular position group.
  4. I'd go with Flacco, personally. Dolphins have faced bad competition thus far and I think it's hard to count on Tannehill vs decent teams. The two rookies could be good, but it is likely too early to count on them reliably. Maybe stash one of the rookies and pick up Flacco to start for now? Flacco's floor is higher than the others, IMO.
  5. Whether you all like it or not, Foster is going to continue to be utilized in this offense. Having a QB like Allen who can throw the deep ball necessitates having a burner like Foster, because it opens everything up. Yes, it would be ideal if the guy didn't have stone hands, but a player like him is a necessity. Forces the defense to play honest and cover the whole field
  6. Besides Allen's play, this was probably the most encouraging thing. You can't get those turnovers without pressuring the QB. They disrupted the rhythm of a VERY good quarterback in Cousins. I read a stat on ESPN that said that Jerry Hughes had 15 QB pressures today, which was the highest single game number for any player in the last 3 seasons. Absolutely incredible, the guy was a monster out there and the primary reason the defense looked so good. I think having Murphy back has helped shift some of the O-line's focus away from him, letting him just wreak havoc.
  7. This call makes zero sense. How can they say it is "unnecessary roughness"? If he doesn't hit him and prevent him from gaining yards, dude gets the first down! I'd say it was necessary roughness
  8. Am I in the twilight zone? What is going on? This is AMAZING!
  9. Kirk Cousins or Patrick Mahomes this week?
  10. Quite honestly, poor Browns fans have suffered enough. I hope that they do make the playoffs. I tend to root for our fellow bottom feeders/underdogs when they aren't playing the Bills If a team that is inept as Cleveland can eventually become good with a few draft picks, why not the Bills in the next few years?
  11. Ain't happening this year, no matter what the odds are
  12. Hopefully they are setting themselves up for future success. Building through good draft picks and then retaining those draft picks. We have a promising young QB, cap space next year, and lots of players with the right mindset. They are trying to do things the right way this time, unlike in the past when we have operated in a "win now" mode with regards to player acquisition. In other words, hopefully setting us up for sustained success in the future. Things could be a lot worse. We could have Hue Jackson running the show And if the McBeane brain trust's draft picks don't work out, we're just plain screwed
  13. I know that Vontae released that statement saying that his retiring had nothing to do with the Bill's players or coaching staff, but the optics of this are really bad. When you combine two bad losses with this.. things could get ugly.
  14. McDermott obviously valued character very highly in filling this team out. This is when that character needs to shine. People like Tre White etc. need to be leaders and keep everyone on track, working that grind daily trying to improve despite the results. I hope their collective mental toughness is enough to withstand this season
  15. Not upset that we lost. But I am upset about the manner in which we have lost the first two games. They have not looked competitive at all, and it's really depressing to watch.
  16. Why is Andre Holmes leading the team in targets? I'm not even sure that he should have made the team over someone like Streater
  17. I wouldn't be surprised if they give Allen a chance to show his arm strength on the very first play, kind of like they did vs. the panthers. My guess is they throw Foster in and let him run the go, which he either drops or Allen doesn't throw a catch-able ball.
  18. I feel like I'm getting elaborately trolled, but I'll take the bait anyway: If your main point is that Tebow is better than Peterman, than basically every quarterback that has ever played in the NFL meets your criteria (and likely a lot of college QBs too). Out of all of those, why Tebow? If your main argument for signing Tebow is that he is a Christian (this isn't a logical reason to sign someone to QB a professional football team), then once again: there a lot of them out there. Why Tebow? There are so many other quarterbacks out there that are better than Tebow, Christian and still actually play football
  19. I understand trading up for a QB. Okay. That's fine by me. The QB position is so important that if you think you have your guy.. absolutely. Pull the trigger. But any other position on the squad is simply not worth trading up for, IMO. I hope at some point our GMs will begin to realize that more picks=more chances to hit the jackpot or at least get a quality starter. With all those extra picks they could have added a lot of quality players and filled a lot of holes
  20. I was actually wondering the same thing. Anyone know contract details for our lackluster free agent additions? How beholden to these guys are we? If they are short deals meant to get us through this season, that would say that they have a plan to -effectively- suck this year. If the contracts are more long term, then it's just a failure to properly evaluate players
  21. I could absolutely imagine "I thought we punted well" coming out of McDermott's mouth this season
  22. Yeah I agree about Milano. Even Lorenzo Alexander seemed to be doing okay, from what I could see. He was a real weakness last year. That one hit that he had on Buck Allen (I think it was him?) was pretty nice. Lorax lead the team in tackles
  23. Lol. Name calling, real mature my friend. Just because they got crushed doesn't mean that individuals didn't perform well in their particular role.
