  1. Did anyone key in on Oliver? I didn't really notice him much
  2. Not worried about Gore. He looked great last year and in preseason. He'll be just fine doing whatever he is asked to do.. and he will usually do it well. It's just one game
  3. There is probably one (crazy) scenario in which I would consider this: The Bills look like contenders, Frank Gore is injured, Devin Singletary doesn't look the part, and the Bills (aside from the running back situation) are looking like contenders. Even then, I don't you should be giving up much in order to get him on the roster
  4. If preseason is any indication, Meyers is going to be good
  5. Not surprised and glad McCoy is gone. He was going to be unhappy.. being in a multi RB timeshare. It's not that he doesn't have it anymore, because I think he would still make an excellent 3rd down back/pass catcher. But for the price, you're getting a situational player at best, a distraction/ineffective player at worst
  6. Thought he would make the team. He adds a different dimension to the WR core
  7. With John Brown's injury history and sickle cell issues, I don't think carrying seven is too big of a stretch. It's pretty likely we don't end up getting a full 16 out of him
  8. He's the type of player that if he develops, you are looking at real potential value. Yes, the chances of him developing into anything are small, but wouldn't you rather hold that spot on the PS for a year and see where things go?
  9. The way I see it.. there are 2 possible end game strategies for Josh: 1) try to force him to become an efficient passer that takes less risks and runs less. i.e. a Ben Roethlisberger type 2) a player that runs and passes very aggressively. I'm not sure who would be the best comparison for this type of player. Maybe somewhere in between Mahomes and Cam Newton? there are things he can do that no other QB can. if you actively try to coach it out of him, he might not be able to make use of his biggest advantage: his physical gifts. it's kind of a fine line to walk because you want to play to his strengths, but you don't want costly turnovers. In case 1, you would want him coax him out of that sort of thing, whereas in case 2 you would want him to learn what he can get away with and what he can't (i.e. when to make that cross body throw that almost no one else in the league would even attempt) and maybe even help him develop these talents so that he is more efficient using them. how the coaching staff proceeds with him is going to be interesting.
  10. You think we're doing good.. until you realize that the Patriots have the highest rated offensive rookie (Jakobi Meyers), the 3rd highest offensive rookie (Jarret Stidham), the 8th highest offensive rookie (Hjalte Froholdt), and the 2nd highest rated defensive rookie (Chase Winovich). Hopefully in the Pats case preseason play isn't an indicator of regular season success!
  11. Barnwell says: I don't think I've ever read something from Barnwell that hasn't mentioned how the Bills shouldn't have let go of Tyrod
  12. Hmm. Clearly better and assuming team is healthy? I'd say: Patriots Chiefs Rams Chargers Colts Saints
  13. Next year the running back situation will likely be more open, seeing as we will likely have no more Gore or McCoy. I think there might be room for a guy like Wade next year, if he's able to continue improving. Rugby guys have to play both offense and defense. Granted, he did play wing, which isn't exactly in the thick of things. But I would bet that he can tackle / play special teams and carve out a role similar to someone like Taiwan Jones. Plus the added upside of having that incredible burst out of the backfield if he actually gets in games. If he comes around and finds other ways to contribute, I'd be surprised if doesn't make the team next year.
  14. McKenzie has never really had issues with making plays. He's really good.. as long as he's not fumbling the ball. I'm just worried that the fumble issue is going to pop up again at the most inopportune time. If the coaching staff believes he is over the issue, it shouldn't be a hard decision to make.
  15. I remember hearing him mentioned for a drop that he should have caught. It looks like he was targeted a bunch of times too, but only came down with one catch. Those others could have been on the QB and not him
  16. I missed about half of the game, but the parts I did hear on the radio said that: Played well: Darryl Johnson Devin Singletary Barkley McKenzie Didn't help themselves: Zay Jones Yeldon Tyree Jackson McCloud
  17. All of the rookies. In particular: Oliver Singletary Johnson Sweeney Tyree Not noticing Ford would be nice too (unless it's for an amazing block)!
  18. Now Ford is playing center? What? I think we'll be okay as long as Eddy O doesn't get any ideas about trying on the warmup jackets Thursday in front of McDermott
