  1. 7 and some change wouldnt put him in the top twenty of CB contracts. Injuries may limit his ability to get paid top ten money, but I would be incredibly surprised if he doesn't go after top 15 money which puts him in the 9.5 Million dollar range.
  2. A broken back, even if its just a small crack or whatever cant be really fun. They have failed as an entire team though. Defense had one take away for much of the season. Tackles stink, wideouts drop balls like crazy. Honestly, I dont think Del Rio will be long for that job.
  3. So would they save $11 Million or $2 Million based on the dead cap hit?
  4. Even if the Bills cut Tyrod, Glenn, Hughes, and Alexander, signing Cousins to $25 Million plus would virtually ensure they would handcuff themselves free agent wise. The cap is high next year and contracts will be inflated. If you want E.J. Gaines back you better have 9-10 Million. They need to draft a quarterback.
  5. I think Rosen's stature is strikingly similar to Goff, and from that standpoint I agree the size is different. On the off the field issues, Rosen hasnt been arrested thats true, but if you're speaking about attention seeking and me first I think its fair his name come up in that category. And just for argument sake, I am sure Rosen would have had even more attention grabbing headlines if he had performed or won in the fashion Mayfield has this year.
  6. This is where I have always had a problem. Mayfield is off the board for being "high maintenance" and "attention seeking" but we leave Rosen on? If Mayfield is off, then Rosen is off for the same reasons.
  7. Appreciate the topic. Just one question though, if they dont feel like they may be able to trade Glenn now because he wont pass a physical why did they think they could two months ago? What I mean is this, if the injury is indeed chronic he wouldn't have passed a physical eight weeks ago either. So essentially, that being a point of contention doesn't really fly well.
  8. Other options are Alex Smith and Cam Newton.
  9. Pretty incredible turn around. But I think the real question is, do you play him in fantasy?
  10. Thank you. I appreciate that. Was getting that feeling from other discussions, but hadnt got there yet.
  11. Feel like I should be wearing a shirt that says "I'm New Here"
  12. As I said I disagreed with his decision. But to say its a no brainer is not accurate at all. It seems like the people giving him grief around the decision wont even acknowledge the fact that the decision has to be made considering variables. The average 4th down conversion rate in the NFL is currently 44%. The Bills are one of the worst teams in the league at picking up 4th down conversions, coming in at just below 17%. So I ask you, with your season on the line and a 83% chance youll fail, do you still think its a no brainer?
  13. Agree with this. His catch percentage is abysmal, but the quarterbacking this year is as bad as I remember it being.
  14. I didn't agree with the decision to punt yesterday but to your point I also find it troubling how hard it is for people to see the forest through the trees. Have to take these things on a game by game basis, and the result should be considered in that as well. Had they gone for it and missed, and then lost the game people would be killing him for that. Bottom line is just win.
  15. He had three tackles yesterday...Watkins isnt going to break 1k or 60 receptions. It will be ok.
  16. No, because if you follow the draft enough you know this happens every year. Next year is always the better class until its not. IMO you cant decide if a class is over or underrated until the players start some games in the NFL.
  17. I dont think the awards matter in terms of draft stock. Based on team need I think he has a realistic shot of going in the top ten. Will depend on if GMs favor him to Lamar Jackson. Regardless he should be a 1st round pick.
  18. I will not be surprised at all if he is let go and McCoy is hired.
  19. The Bills no longer have the fear advantage. It was much easier to sell tickets to meaningless games in December when people had the specter of losing their team hanging over their heads. Reality sets in a bit more when the romantic ideal of supporting your team to show them how much you care is gone. All of us still care, we wouldnt be on a message board otherwise. The tickets may only cost six dollars a piece, but add parking a few beers and some food to the equation and you still end up with a close to $75 dollar outing. May not be a lot to some of you, but when it's around Christmas and you have other things to spend your money on watching a 6-6 team with the slim hopes of being in the playoffs play a 3-9 team in the snow doesnt sound that appealing. The league tried to do the Bills a favor by making the Patriots games later in the season but it still didnt shake out.
  20. But would you agree then that correlation to height and the ability to play quarterback is a result not of smaller players inability to play the position, but rather the predilection of coaches to place players at a position based on their size regardless of the fact that the predisposition may not necessarily be based on statistical fact? Reminds me of when Moss and Owens were killing the league at wideout. Suddenly everyone wanted giant receivers, so you end up with Devin Thomas, James Hardy, Malcolm Kelly and Limas Sweed being mentioned in the same conversation as Desean Jackson. Or when the league suddenly wanted smaller faster defensive ends like Dwight Freeney, and you get Aaron Maybin in the first round. My point is, size, especially when you're talking inches should really take a back seat to who is the best player at their position.
  21. Yeah they rounded up. He was measured at 72 3/4. Using that method Manziel would have been 6'0 as I believe he was 71 3/4. Its amazing how quarters of an inch can cost a guy hundreds of thousands of dollars.
  22. Technically three. Tyrod measured below 73 inches at the combine.
  23. I agree on your point about the comparisons to those quarterbacks, I dont think that makes sense to do for anyone who hasnt played a down in the league yet. I guess I just dont know what else the kid has to do to prove he is worthy of being a 1st round pick. I dont know if he will be good in the NFL any better than I do Rosen, Darnold, Jackson etc but he is the most elite player at his position in coll ege football and he hasnt done it in a gimmicky fashion. What is incredibly irritating is to see players like Josh Allen and Clayton Thorson rated above him because they are 6'5. Literally saw a national columnist from CBS say yesterday he wasnt on the Mayfield train because he wants to wait and see what he does in the CFB Playoffs. Seriously man? The kid has played 47 games to this point and won 83% of them including some really impressive games against great defenses, including games in the CFB Playoffs. Again, I have no problem with someone not hitching their wagon to him as you say, but lets be real if anyone tries to pretend its because of his play on the field they are full of it.
  24. In regards to your statement here statistics need to be measured and compared in a normalized fashion to tell the actual story, mainly because your discounting the fact that an immense number of players who are taller than 6'2 have been massive failures as well. The more true statement is players under 6'2 just dont really get a chance to show their worth in the NFL. For instance since 2010 (not including this year) 85 quarterbacks have been drafted, of those only seven players have been 6'1 or less. Still, within that group of seven, two players have proven to be either a viable NFL starter (Tyrod Taylor) or a NFL superstar (Russell Wilson) thats 28%, or if you want to look at it pessimistically a 72% failure rate. On the flip side 78 players have been drafted who were 6'2 or greater and of those players only 13 became viable starters or superstars, 16% or a 84% failure rate. I would say this stat tells us one of two things, A. Height doesnt matter at all or B. NFL GMs are so blind they dont realize their is no magic height/weight formula for a franchise quarterback and it really should be looked at on a player by player basis. And on the point about Mayfield being 5'9, whoever had those rumblings either has an agenda against Mayfield or hasnt watched one OU game. When he stands next to his RB Rodney Anderson who happens to be 6'2 he isnt dwarfed in the manner someone 5'9 would be.
