Chandler Jones signing with Raiders - 3 years, $52.5 mill
thenorthremembers replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Played out exactly like the JJ Watt chase last year. Said it wasnt about money, and in the end it was about money. Nobody should be surprised it ended this way, and I'll be happy watching him collect $17 million a year for a team thats not going to sniff the Lombardi. -

He is a tone setter. 5am workouts, first one in, last one out. I'd take him on my team any day. -

I think teams look at him as a product of McDermott's scheme. Josh Norman, James Bradberry, Darryl Worley, Tre Boston, and Captain Munnerlyn are all guys who played their best football under McDermott, made money in free agency and then failed to live up to their contracts. I imagine teams dont want to repeat that history. -
Feliciano missed 7 games the year before too. Phillips got bottom end of what starting Defensive Tackles get in the NFL. His average salary is 27th in the league, and thats before free agency ends. Now I see why Morse gets so much crap on this board for missing 2 games in three years.

Shenault is bigger, and does the sames things, but he shouldnt. He was used that way at Colorado, so yes he has done it, but he shouldnt be in the NFL. The guy is a 4.6 40 guy and has been miscast with teams trying to recreate what he was doing in college. He is shifty with the ball in his hands, and has decent hands but as far as being an elite athlete like McKenzie or even Deebo Samuel, who he is often compared to, he is a long ways off. -
Not 100% sure I love the player, but on the rookie contract he would be a good get to at the very least compete with McKenzie for the slot position.

But whats your definition of perform? Both Feliciano and Phillips played less than 75% of their games while in Buffalo. They may have been good locker room guys, and may have played ok when they were actually available, but I wouldnt call that performing. If I miss 25% of the days I am supposed to be at work, I doubt my boss gives me a raise to stay. The Bills have very little cap space. They need to sign guys who are available to play football on Sunday. If you take a look at Jones, Settle, and Saffold you'll notice those guys havent missed a lot of games in the near term. Every year there is turnover. I'll start to worry when they cut and lose guys who are good in the lockerroom, consistent performers, and dont collect their paychecks from the bench.

If true Baker gets to go back to Texas. He'll be fine with it. -

Can we stop with "another Panther thing" he played one year in Carolina and it wasnt with anyone in our current regime. -
I think he plays with Brady in Tampa or nowhere.

Given his track record Albright may want to get off his soap box. -
Sal was actually incredibly gracious about the Pats the entire year and then a couple radio hacks from Bahston went in on him. Hes been on the warpath since. Just 1 of the reasons I love the guy.

To be fair to Foster he has had a longer career than old Da'Rick, not much more productive but three times longer. Plenty of pieces left. Free Agency shouldnt be where you build your team, its where you supplement it. Bad teams that are in a hurry to get good overpay in free agency, and it hardly ever works. -

No more band-aid QBs eh. -
Good pass rusher. But has always been a OLB in a 3-4 defense. Not sure he fits the Bills defense. Think he may end up back in Baltimore.

You nailed it. The dude never threatened to move the team.
