  1. Can someone explain to me why we want to give up a 1st round pick for WR we will never be able to afford extending? Seems like a popular take on this board recently, just go and get DK Metcalf like he isnt going to be the first WR to ever get 30 million dollars a year next offseason.
  2. He may not take the paycut, but I still think releasing him and signing Blythe and Noteboom is still cutting off your nose to spite your face. Blythe is a replacement level player. While Noteboom does bring your something in terms of talent and versatility, he 's never been a full time starter in the league. I'd much rather keep Williams, even at his current salary, than cut him pre-June 1st, cost yourself 3.6 in dead cap, and have a competition between Noteboom and an unproven rookie. What I'd like to see the Bills do is work on keeping the offensive line unit they ended the year with in 2021. Dawkins, Bates, Morse, Williams, and Brown were humming at the end of the season, and Id much rather have continuity with them than cut Williams and try to replace him with unknowns.
  3. I disagree. He played poorly when asked to move over to tackle. But when he was in at guard he was one of the better olineman last year. He has been available every game for Buffalo since he signed here, has played both guard and tackle, and when he's played guard he has played very well. You don't cut a guy who is available and plays well, to replace him with a rookie, it doesnt make sense and you're asking for trouble. Does he need to restructure to a guard's salary yes, but he has been a good player for the team.
  4. Wouldnt be a fan of this. While Daryl Williams struggled at tackle last year, he played at a very high level at guard. To me he is a restructure candidate only, not a cut. You'd be cutting off your nose to spite your face. I cannot tell you how much I hate cutting a starter to draft his replacement. Makes so much more sense to keep the starter, draft his replacement, and then have them compete. Like the free agent signings. Hate the draft.
  5. To me he is maybe the 30th best TE in the league. Multiple that salary times .80 number of games started and it came out to 1.3 million. Guy is all potential.
  6. It depends how much 12 personnel they run, and if they see Engram as a potential slot WR, but from where I am standing the guy is a suspect blocker, doesnt have great hands, and has missed 20% of his games. I am all for the Bills taking a flyer on the guy, but I wouldnt spend more than 2 million to bring the guy in. I hope someone overpays so we dont have to find out, but no way I am paying my backup tight end more than Knox.
  7. Love them some Ole Miss tight ends.
  8. After what they owe him in dead cap, the Lions spent 6,938,438 million dollars a sack for this guy. This is a perfect example of why teams who win free agency continue to suck for years and years. Great job lions. You spent 72 million dollars on a guy who averaged 3.5 sacks a year. For contrast, the Lions paid Flowers 72 million over the last three years for a total of 10.5 sacks. While his time has come and gone, the Bills have paid Jerry Hughes 71 million dollars total in the last 9 years, he had 53 sacks in that time. What a mind numbingly bad signing for the Lions.
  9. Isnt Spiranac a beer?
  10. Going to be Neal unless someone trades up. One of the oldest stories in the book, can hear Kiper now "ya know the Jags got their franchise QB last year, he struggled, he struggled ok. But last year is last year. Urban Meyer...gone. Doug Pederson gets his big ugly to protect Lawrence here, gotta love this pick for the Jaguars"
  11. If wins arent a QB stat, why do the best QBs always have the most wins?
  12. Prayers for your family brother. Lifting this man up in prayers for healing.
  13. I 100% agree. They already have a strong idea of what the cap will be in 2023 and 2024 so they can pretty quick work on restructures that include adding more years to the contract. I think they will probably go into free agency with money to spend. But I think the skepticism from other posters saying we dont have cap is warranted. Legal tampering is less than a week away and the Bills are still over the cap by a couple million.
  14. To be fair they aren't wrong. As it stands today we have no cap. So any potential cut/trade/restructure the board makes up to get us cap is a figment of our imagination until it actually happens. The amount of cap we make up in our heads isnt reality right now. The reality is the Bills are currently over the salary cap.
  15. Odd. He is a 3-4 OLB through and through. Decent player, but not a world beater by any means.
  16. Problem is 341 is light for him. Probably the best shape of his entire life. Good player but worry about him having Dareus Syndrome weight wise.
  17. I think thats just the reality of the NFL right now. The reality is there are maybe 5-7 teams who are legit Super Bowl Contenders year in and year out, and it has everything to do with the QB. But like you said, what are the other teams really supposed to do at QB? The real top tier guys are rare, so you cant expect to bottom out and just go get one in the draft, because like I just said, they dont come along that often. The league has parity week to week. But when it comes to Championships I'd argue they really dont. So what to do if you're one of 25-27 teams that dont have an elite QB? I'd say you keep someone like Carr and try to maximize putting fans in the seats, and make money off of delusional hope. Trading the guy, unless its for a better QB really doesnt do much for your organization.
  18. Love what Bease brought to the team but its time. Wheels are coming off and too much bad blood from last year.
  19. I am also a transplant. I remember stinker tinkering wondering why the hell I couldnt log in. Now I stinker tinker here, and the tinkering is much better.
  20. Hope McDermott proves everyone wrong next year. The players, and coaches quoted in these articles have short memories. Also with how much Isaiah Mckenize likes to talk to Tyler Dunne, I'd be surprised if he is back next year.
  21. 21 years old. I was a total idiot at 21 as well. I figure most of us probably were. Hope he gets a real job, stops living off his brother's fame, and grows up. Still a long way to go.
