  1. THANK YOU GOD!! Post of the year right here. It's good to know common sense still exists in the world!
  2. Do me a favor and take a look back at the history of "difference makers" signed in free agency who signed huge deals and lived up to them. Smart teams know better than to do this. These guys, again, are available for a reason. The Bills have signed three free agents outside of their franchise, signed 4 of their own free agents and reworked multiple deals. What you, and others on this board really mean is "The Bills havent signed anyone that excites me yet so I am upset and am going to post sarcastic things about the team."
  3. Beyond the Regier comparison you called Beane a "very conservative GM." In my opinion he has been exactly the opposite of that. If you said he has been "very conservative this offseason" I'd agree, the Bills just dont have the money to make a big splash in free agency. But if you look at his entire history as Bills GM, to call him "very conservative" is not just unfair its blatantly wrong. A "very conservative" GM doesnt trade his way into the number 7 pick in the draft a year after making the playoffs and draft maybe the most wild card QB prospect in history. Neither does he send 1st round picks to Minnesota for Diggs. He's made big moves, he didnt get the nickname Big Baller Beane by being conservative.
  4. I think thats incredibly unfair. He wheeled and dealed his way to a franchise QB. When he has had money he has spent money. As I've said here leading up to Free Agency, bored fans were going to piss and moan this week because the Bills have their franchise QB, paid him, and now dont have a ton of money to spend in a low cap year. Meanwhile all of the armchair GMs had the Bills cutting and trading a 5th of their roster to sign Von Miller, JC Jackson, Brandon Schreff, and Chandler Jones. Not conservative, smart. You dont overspend in Free Agency, there is a reason these guys are on the market. You dont spend money you dont have.
  5. I dont think I ever said that. What I said was he took the money over a chance to win a Lombardi. I said that because he went to a team that while being in the playoffs last year, has no legitimate chance to win the Super Bowl with Derek Carr as their QB. Like it or not, there 5-10 teams a year that have a real chance of going to and winning a Super Bowl. Then there are 22-27 other teams that have average to below average QBs who have to sign Chandler Jones for $17 million dollars a year to either sell tickets, or make it to the first round of the playoffs. The Bills are in the 5-10 teams because of who they have at QB. That was my point. He took the money, like he said in his tweet.
  6. Because the Bills dont have $17 million to offer him. So common sense and the least amount of assumptions would tell me he took more money.
  7. Seriously? These guys are still getting paid, by teams who would much rather have a franchise QB. As a player they need to decide to take the money and not truly contend for a Super Bowl, or take less and be one of the maybe 7 teams who have a legit shot at winning a Super Bowl. None of these guys are hurting for cash. Once you are getting paid 10 million, you can afford to take the 5-7 million dollars left. The Nuclear arms race in the AFC West isnt a bad thing for the Bills. Its going to be very hard for 3 of the teams from the same division to make the Playoffs. 1 or 2 less good teams the Bills have to worry about in the playoffs.
  8. Played out exactly like the JJ Watt chase last year. Said it wasnt about money, and in the end it was about money. Nobody should be surprised it ended this way, and I'll be happy watching him collect $17 million a year for a team thats not going to sniff the Lombardi.
  9. Perfect! If we get him and Tyson Clabo to both sign this week we should be all set!
  10. He is a tone setter. 5am workouts, first one in, last one out. I'd take him on my team any day.
  11. I think teams look at him as a product of McDermott's scheme. Josh Norman, James Bradberry, Darryl Worley, Tre Boston, and Captain Munnerlyn are all guys who played their best football under McDermott, made money in free agency and then failed to live up to their contracts. I imagine teams dont want to repeat that history.
  12. Feliciano missed 7 games the year before too. Phillips got bottom end of what starting Defensive Tackles get in the NFL. His average salary is 27th in the league, and thats before free agency ends. Now I see why Morse gets so much crap on this board for missing 2 games in three years.
  13. A lot of them were. If you recall that was the Adam Gase offense with Smoking Jay Cutler and Matt Moore as his Quarterbacks, so you do have to give the stats some context. Landry is a good football player, but I dont disagree that he is probably on the downside of his career.
  14. Shenault is bigger, and does the sames things, but he shouldnt. He was used that way at Colorado, so yes he has done it, but he shouldnt be in the NFL. The guy is a 4.6 40 guy and has been miscast with teams trying to recreate what he was doing in college. He is shifty with the ball in his hands, and has decent hands but as far as being an elite athlete like McKenzie or even Deebo Samuel, who he is often compared to, he is a long ways off.
  15. Not 100% sure I love the player, but on the rookie contract he would be a good get to at the very least compete with McKenzie for the slot position.
  16. But whats your definition of perform? Both Feliciano and Phillips played less than 75% of their games while in Buffalo. They may have been good locker room guys, and may have played ok when they were actually available, but I wouldnt call that performing. If I miss 25% of the days I am supposed to be at work, I doubt my boss gives me a raise to stay. The Bills have very little cap space. They need to sign guys who are available to play football on Sunday. If you take a look at Jones, Settle, and Saffold you'll notice those guys havent missed a lot of games in the near term. Every year there is turnover. I'll start to worry when they cut and lose guys who are good in the lockerroom, consistent performers, and dont collect their paychecks from the bench.
  17. If true Baker gets to go back to Texas. He'll be fine with it.
  18. Can we stop with "another Panther thing" he played one year in Carolina and it wasnt with anyone in our current regime.
  19. I think he plays with Brady in Tampa or nowhere.
  20. Given his track record Albright may want to get off his soap box.
  21. Good signing. Still very young, and is more productive than Star has been the last four years despite being a backup. r.
  22. Sal was actually incredibly gracious about the Pats the entire year and then a couple radio hacks from Bahston went in on him. Hes been on the warpath since. Just 1 of the reasons I love the guy.
  23. To be fair to Foster he has had a longer career than old Da'Rick, not much more productive but three times longer. Plenty of pieces left. Free Agency shouldnt be where you build your team, its where you supplement it. Bad teams that are in a hurry to get good overpay in free agency, and it hardly ever works.
  24. May need some cotton based products to boot.
