  1. I like Vander Esch a lot, but he has some weakness in his game. He does not do well with the trash. If you can keep him untouched he is a terror when he is under control and not over aggressive. But if you watch the game vs Wyoming and UVA he had tough outings because people got their hands on him. To his credit though, he's fairly young at the position and his ceiling is very high and easily a 1st round talent but he's got some things to work on. Evans at this point does a better job using his hands against blockers. You can see this when he's on the 2nd level at the middle spot, but it also shows up when he has his hands in the dirt as a pass rusher going up against offensive tackles. I'm not sure why Evans is choosing not to run. I take either him or Vander Esch.
  2. Definitely reminds me of Shaq Thompson. Very similar player physique wise and play wise.
  3. Rudolph has questions to answer about how he translates to other offensive systems. I think the one plus going for him though is that even though he played in that system, he's in big football circles. He has a good relationship with the Mannings, attended all their camps for years. People like his height. The arm strength is a question. I think the one thing that he needs to work on immediately is getting used to the timing of when a WR is going to be where. As I said in a thread last night, I don't know how he will turn out. And honestly, outside of arm talent, I think he's ahead of Allen at this point. It's just when you project down the line, Allen has tons more upside and that's why he is being talked about in the top 10.
  4. Do you think he's a process guy? Once you answer this question you'll know the kind of guys that we will attempt to bring in.
  5. Doubtful. Sounds like more wrinkles but no radical shifts.
  6. In most years I would follow this line of thinking. I still lean this way at times, but I realize it's situational. The Bills are a pretty bad team on paper. They have a few spots that are really good, but on paper they are not a lot to write home about. In saying all of that, our QB drought is just like the playoff drought was. We ended one and we need to end the other one as swiftly as possible and it's possible this year. I don't know who their top guy is. And I'm sure whoever we select, even if it is a CB, it will be their top guy at least that is what we will be told. In any case, we must land a QB. Our QB situation has been ranked the worse in the NFL, I think it is pretty clear we are going QB somewhere and early.
  7. LOL I was going to say don't forget to smoke the medicinals first
  8. You had that synthetic ish too didn't you??
  9. Maybin was certainly one of those OMG, we did not just.... WTF did we just.... I can't believe we ..... How, Orak.... F it let me end this now LOL
  10. I just want one of these QBs 1) Darnold 2) Allen 3) Mayfield 4) Jackson To clarify, Josh Rosen is my #1 prospect. He's my favorite QB in the draft but I just can't see him behind the Bills pass protection. While Rosen is a tennis player and has athleticism there is a difference between being athletic and having wiggle and knowing how to escape. He hasn't shown a lot of the latter. I think the four guys I listed are all QBs that primarily make plays from the pocket, but also have the wiggle and know how to get the hell out of dodge when things break down. After the QB selection, I want Darius Leonard Would be great if Vander Esch stays out of round 1 as well LOL. I'd actually like both Vander Esch and Leonard in round 2 (won't happen, I know).
  11. Yeah I just like Baker for his athleticism. Darius Leonard is the player I'd prefer.
  12. Quiet as kept he has had extensive talks with a few teams. Steelers, Patriots being two of them.
  13. To avoid disappoint just don't get locked in on a player. Sure we all have our preferences and our own wishlists but just don't get locked in onto any one guy because that's exactly the road to disappointment. I should clarify I'm speaking from the perspective of a fan. The FO should be locked in on players and maneuver to get their guys.
  14. Now I do like Ward and Baker though. I would love to have those guys on defense. But you cannot have it all and we have to have a better prospect at QB. I don't know how Mason will turn out so I don't want to cast any aspersions at the guy but man I can't help but feel like this at the thought of him being our next QB
  15. Not going to lie, Rudolph doesn't make me jump out of my seat like Stone Cold Steve Austin or the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels music just hit. A Mason Rudolph selection at QB would actually have me more like this:
  16. True, but I still think you have to see how at least the top 4 picks play out. If Chubb and Barkley go in the first 4 picks then I think you can relax a little. Not much, but a little. But if three QB's go in the first 4 picks then you have to hope Denver will accept 7 and let us move into 5 or Cleveland will accept what we have and be willing to give up 4. But if we move into 7 now, it gives GM's of Zona and Miami time to make a stupid deal to cripple their franchise and jump in front of us IF Denver or Cleveland are willing to sell those picks. And if that happens we are stuck at 7 and better not take Jackson or Rudolph there just because we need a QB.
  17. Part of the draft is about talent and value and I just don't see how Chubb, Barkley, and Nelson make it past 6. All three should be gone no later than 6. That leaves three QBs possibly going in the first 6 picks. I certainly think a good one will be available at 7. One of Mayfield, Allen, Rosen, will be available at 6 or 7. I'd be happy with either there. I have preferences but it's getting to 7 and not paying crazy assets to do so. I wouldn't do it now though. The Colts still could trade back then we'd be screwed by a team with better seeding. I'd be on the phone with the Colts on draft night seeing what's going on. IF they make their pick then I'd already have someone on the Bucs line. And once that pick goes through then make the trade with the Bucs. But I would have to be prepared that if someone is offering the Colts a deal, I'd have to be prepared to top that offer and perhaps move into the 6 spot instead. I get what you are saying though. Move into that spot now and then if need be move again.
  18. While this is true, my point was not that. My point is playmakers need to be paid regardless of what position they play and Bell is a playmaker that just happens to play HB. I'm not even making the case that the Steelers should be the team to pay him. All I'm saying is in general playmakers should be paid.
  19. If the draft goes this way then somebody is going to get some crazy talent in Chubb and Nelson. I'd think that Chubb Nelson and Barkley all go in the top 6, but if they do not that's crazy IMO.
  20. No. He's not a process guy.
  21. He's not a process guy. That's all.
  22. I just wish people would stop it with the HB stuff. This is about a playmaker on your team that just happens to be playing HB. He's a playmaker first. If he does that for my offense it doesn't matter what position he plays he deserves to get paid. Now, as someone else has already said, I would knock it down slightly due to him missing games for being suspended and hurt, but not by much. Yeah but let's be honest the Steelers defense carried those teams, not Big Ben and since their defense has fallen off they haven't been back to the SB. That's not to say that Ben didn't have a par in their championship years because he did, but their defense was really good on those teams to the point that they probably lose the SB to Arizona if it were not for Harrison's TD. Take that TD off the board and they don't win the game. Yet Ben's TD in the clutch to Holmes is not to be overlooked. I'm starting to hate the QB is Jesus narrative as well LOL. QB can't do anything if there is nothing around him. Elite QB's are winners not because they are Elite. They are winners because their team is Elite. Brees is an elite QB that made it to the mountaintop 1 time and has missed the playoffs more than he's made it. Phillip Rivers can say the same thing. When the team is elite, elite QB's are winners. When you just have an elite QB with no elite team around him who cares?? His name will go down in history with all the other losers. To add to DeGaulle's statement, the graves are also filled with elite QBs who amounted to nothing without an elite team surrounding them.
  23. Just another thread that tells us the Bills are interested in a QB that a particular group on TBD likes. We've been over this. The Bills covet them all until they can't or don't. More nothing news.
  24. If the Browns take Allen I would see if Dave G would accept 12, 22, and next year's first. That's all I can give you. Three firsts should be plenty. If I have to give up more than that man that's just crazy. Then I would take Darnold and go light up a fat cigar. After that in round 2 I'd target Darius Leonard and Malik Jefferson to complete my LB unit. Round 3 Frank Ragnow and a WR. Rd 4 I'd look for a small school Corner like D'Montre Wade from Murray State. Still smoke a fat ass cigar.
