  1. And that makes all the difference. If I see them as very similar I completely agree with you. But if I think Rudolph is a level above White, then that makes all the difference too. In the end it's just how the Bills have these guys graded. Man I really don't want to watch more film LOL. I watched some Rudolph film a week and a half ago and I stopped watching after that Texas Longhorns game. The first game I didn't know where to place him because this was a game where he shined. But then that Texas game, he struggled vs tight man coverage. I turned it off.
  2. I dunno. If I think Rudolph is a tier two guy/maybe borderline 1 and I see White is a tier 3 guy, I'd go ahead and pull the trigger on Rudolph, especially since QB is an area on our team that is a problem and needs to get fixed. I think if you pass up there is something that you will miss out on. Again, I'm not saying that 1st round, especially at 12, is his actual value, but if I have him graded higher than White by a decent margin and given whatever happens with the guys I have rated in front of him I'd go ahead and pull the trigger. Let me provide another example using the Giants. Your team has problems that need to get fixed or else you are in the same position. What needs fixing for them? OL and HB. Those are immediate. Sure taking a future signal caller would be a good move, but if I do that I still have these two problems. The way I think about it is I need the best talent I can get that's on the board to help me fix this problem. If I'm Gettleman, with the 2nd pick in the 2018 NFL draft the NY Giants select either 1) Quenton Nelson 2) Saquon Barkley 3) Trade and take Hernandez and Guice if I have them graded relatively close to Nelson and Barkley Those are my options. Selecting a future signal caller is not going to help me solve the biggest problem on my team. Now, if I think Eli is done then QB is the biggest problem so then my thinking changes. To me, Fix your biggest problems with the best available players even if I think they probably should go a little later. I admit, it is a strategy that has its flaws too. But you only find out after the fact, which when it comes to the draft, no matter what strategy you take, you only find out after the fact. I don't disagree, I'm just saying, what if the Pats are not bluffing. You sit at 22, the Pats are 23 and 31. You don't take Rudolph at 12, the Pats will jump you before 22. Then you have to get a little more desperate to land Falk or White. Either way you're going to have to take a guy before your projected value area for him. Preferably we get to a spot where we can take Rosen or Mayfield but if we can't I'm just saying it makes it very difficult to sit and wait because of inflation.
  3. Only problem is because of inflation and because QB is a problem area that needs to be fixed for the Bills you'd probably have to take him at 12. I definitely don't think he should go there, but hey, if you say I'll take him at 22 then you better get ready to trade up for Falk or White later. What can you do?
  4. Honestly, I have two guys that I'd trade up for that's it. The Bills FO probably has more but to me, if it's not for Rosen or Mayfield, I'm not moving. Darnold's turnovers, and throwing motion concern me. I'd take him around 10/12 but not before that. Allen I'd sit right at 12 and take him. Way too many concerns about him to move up and take him. Rudolph I wouldn't trade up for, but because of inflation would probably take him at 12. That's just how I see it. Outside or Rosen or Mayfield, I'm not giving up the assets for the other guys.
  5. This is only if they cannot get down to 2, I can see Jackson at either 22 or in the 2nd round. I wouldn't have a problem with Jackson. Davis is a 1-year rental and Gaines is depth so the position is not really solidified. He certainly will. He's going to go higher than his tape because of the 4.32 40.
  6. Not to mention the Bucs defense hasn't done much to help their offense out and the Bucs running game doesn't help him much either. When he finally gets all the pieces around him it might be different. The other problem is he's in a division with Brees, Ryan, Cam/Luke.
  7. I'll be honest, and I need to see more than 1 game, but as it stands from that 1 game, I was wrong on Pat Mahomes. His footwork cleaned up a ton. His posture was world's better. My critique of him was never about the system he was in, it was more of his mechanics, posture so on and so forth.
  8. To me, it's really going to depend on where these guys land and what coaches ask them to do. A smart coach is going to look at his QB and say OK, these are the throws he can make. So I'm going to design my offense around the throws that this guy can make. Now the thing with Rosen, to me, is a coach is not limited in that sense so that's what makes him a much better draft prospect. But I certainly think a guy taken later can elevate his game if a coach doesn't ask that guy to work outside of himself. I prefer the Bills take the guy, like Rosen, that doesn't have those limitations. However, if we cannot then there's plan B and hopefully, we can get a lot out of the guy, whoever, he may be.
  9. But unfortunately, due to inflation, you'd have to take him at 12 if all the other guys are gone and you couldn't move up and now you're on the clock.
  10. YES!!!! I like this guy for the OL. I like his flexibility.
  11. Rudolph got lost in the conversation on QBs for me. I need to go back and look at a few things.
  12. I'll be streaming the first hour in my car before I walk in to see Thanos whip some arse.
  13. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Pats make moves for guys like Jaire Alexander, Roquan Smith, Leighton Vander Esch, Edmunds, Landry, Chubb if they can get that far up and then draft a QB in round 2.
  14. I look at a lot of this and I'm like some teams are just trying to drive up the price of QBs because they know their divisional opponents are looking to draft one.
  15. Because QB is really the only position where it matters for some people and that's primarily due to the inflation of the position. So when it comes to QBs they look at positional value. I tend to agree with that approach.
  16. Not a fan of the McShay mock. The Kiper mock has two guys I like, the defenders. I don't know what to think about Lamar Jackson. I'm not a Courtland Sutton fan. Not very explosive and there is no variation in his running routes. I think he's another version of Kelvin Benjamin. He's not going to separate from defenders so just throw jump balls all day.
  17. I like the list. If we are just talking about 1st round prospects based on athleticism, tape, and playmaking ability I like the list. QB is the only position where I'd weigh positional value
  18. I actually agree. I love his athleticism and his frame for the position. And he does make a lot of wow plays on tape. But if you watch with a keen eye you will see he does not do a good job with trash/traffic AND he needs to learn how to use his hands to deal with blockers. Two games stand out UVA and Wyoming actually. He can be a bit over aggressive at times. I like certain aspects of his game a hell of a lot, and then there are some things that cause me to balk. The things that cause me to balk are actually things that could wind up making me a frustrated fan as I would like to see him play but can't because he's sidelined with an injury due to certain habits he has. Going back to hand usage for example. He likes to throw his shoulder at people. This won't have him playing very long if he doesn't stop it. Boise blitzed him quite a bit to keep him clean and honestly he's a terror when he's clean. His ability to get sideline to sideline and cover backs in pass defense is exceptional. I just worry about his habit of shoulder throwing and not doing good with traffic. He's young at the position and has lots of room for growth but that shoulder throwing habit his to die immediately or he won't be around for long. I played linebacker in HS actually and shoulder throwing was a big no no. I learned it after I pinched a nerve. It's not pretty. Not sure why he does it. Roquan Smith is a much more polished product at this point. Smith does a much better job with his hands and working through traffic. As an off the ball linebacker you're not required to blitz Smith to make him effective. Leighton's tape shows he's much more effective when he's on the move and Boise did a lot of that with him. When they didn't there's some bad stuff that needs to get cleaned up IMMEDIATELY. In any case, I won't cry foul if we were to draft Vander Esch.
  19. Yeah. I'm not locked into a guy but it's unfortunate that I'm locked against some guys at a particular price point. I'd eventually accept it, but I'd initially be mad at some guys depending on what the price is.
  20. Which actually could mean no interest but could also mean Mayfield and Rosen are smoke. At this point it's just whatever, get this over with haha.
  21. I'm not opposed to Allen at a certain spot in the draft, but I'll be honest if we trade all of the assets away to get to 2 to select Allen I'm going to be pretty pissed off.
  22. Roman run game + RG III. Griffin is young enough to turn his career around. The Ravens have re-established the running game. Maybe nothing comes of it. Maybe something does. Decent flyer for them.
  23. Man I know what his offense is. I've said it in other threads. So I'm not uninformed. I never drew a comparison to him and EJ. All I did was basically echo what Brian Billick has said. There are some concerns that you just cannot look past as a top 5 pick. Here's the thing that gets me: I've watched several of Allen's games and part of his inaccuracy from my perspective is he just hasn't learned when to take heat off of passes. Secondly, I don't buy him losing guys as the sole reason for the completion percentage because if that were the case then why is it that his comp percentage is actually .3 higher with the loss of those guys than it was with him with those guys? It can't be because he lost them, his comp numbers don't show that. Allen might end up being good and as I said in another thread, I'm rooting for him because there is so much against him, but to me he's not the QB that the Buffalo Bills need. The Bills need someone who can come in and compete for the starting job NOW. Allen is not that guy.
  24. He's only the starter if you don't land Rosen or Mayfield IMO. If you land one of those two, it will be a very tight competition.
