Go on the record -do the Bills trade up?
NewEraBills replied to sullim4's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes we will trade up. To me it's trade to 5 or 6 then trade to 2. It's going to cost but so be it. Get your QB. 12, 22 and 65 for 6. Then 6 and next year's first for 2. -
Can you spot the QB bust? NFL QB blind quiz on ESPN.com
NewEraBills replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I got a 7/9 but I just find something like this to be rather silly. Can't watch any tape to go with the numbers so how does it suggest anything? But it was fun nonetheless. -
I agree they are in the best position to do so, but to me, you still can't do it. He's just not as safe as Darnold for them. The Browns have been in this spot needing a QB too many times and they have missed on a QB too many times. They have failed so much that they were afraid to take a QB with the #1 pick last year. They have to make a safer pick. Given that both will need time (Allen moreso than Darnold) I also agree that Buffalo is not a great spot for Allen. But if everyone else is gone and he's on the board at 6 or later I'd take him.

If you are the Browns you cannot take Allen. You just can't, even if he turns out to be good you just can't do it because you don't know if he will be good and you have to make the safest pick at 1 that you can and Allen is not a safe pick at 1. You go with the guys that have production and experience. If they don't work out then they don't work out, but if you take Allen and he doesn't work out the consequences are much more serious.

I agree with the need at LB it's just that I don't think they will pigeonhole themselves into taking one at 22 although I'd want them too. These guys have been around GMs that place a high value on trench players. I wouldn't be surprised with it. You have Warner, Leonard, O'Daniel, Jewell still on the board at linebacker. And honestly, the team needs at least two of them. It would also be great to snag a WR but at some point, we have to realize we are not going to get everything we need.

I still think for an offensive line to be great you need an elite talent in the middle of it. We don't have that right now. I'd take Daniels or Ragnow over Groy and Bodine in a heartbeat. Let Groy be the back up at C and have him, Bodine, Miller in competition at the Guard spots with Vlad, who I'm not a fan of honestly but he'll suffice I guess. RT I'd take in the 3rd.

Allen without hesitation at that spot.

I wouldn't mind Allen at 6,7, or 8 but you'd probably have to land him at 6 because there's just too much chatter about teams wanting QBs. I think Center at 22 is fine as well. About the only thing I would not like is not having 2nd rounders to add another interior lineman and a linebacker or WR. But it's the price you have to pay. It's not like we don't need interior OL either though. And the best way to build the OL is from the inside out starting at the Center. They are mocking the best center talent to us. I don't see an issue with that. We actually need that and an upgrade at RT. I'd prefer LB and know it's an equal need but it's not like we don't need a great middle player on the offense.

We will more than likely draft two linemen. The way I see it, even if we draft a QB our key to success in 2018 is not to put games on that rookie or AJ's shoulders. Our key to success in 2018 will still be to run the football a lot. I see us also grabbing an additional HB either in the draft or after cuts.

Rosen or Darnold? Who's your pick?
NewEraBills replied to ColdFront_USAF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Darnold is their guy but Rosen is the one they are more likely to land and of course, then he'll be the guy they wanted all along. -
Colts' GM Chris Ballard Open to Moving the 6th Pick
NewEraBills replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is good. It could drive the cost down actually since multiple teams want to move. -
Bills' 2018 Regular Season Schedule
NewEraBills replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Check again. HOME openers. Not openers in general. 2012 Bengals W 2014 Bengals L 2016 Bills W These were their last three HOME openers. They've played on the road in most opening games the last few years. But before that, they were pretty damn tough AT home in game 1. -

They always start the season good though. That's what I meant. Rarely do they lose a home opener. -

Week 1 Ravens at home, probably going to be a loss. Defense should keep it close but I don't think the offense has a chance. -
Keep our picks, draft Kyle Lauletta?

Rosen/Mayfield and Evans/Vander Esch in round 1
NewEraBills replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd pass on Evans and Vander, take Darius Leonard in round 2. Will Hernandez at G to me or DJ Moore at WR would be a better pick at 22. Vander Esch, I like his athleticism, but he has some issues that he better correct right away if he wants to play in this league very long. As I pointed out two or three weeks ago, Vander Esch CAN be a nightmare when he's on the move at the snap and when blockers cannot get to him. This is exactly why he shined vs Oregon. Boise blitzed him a lot. But when you look at Wyoming, UVA for example, he wasn't nearly as impactful. He does not do well with traffic and he needs to be more violent with his hands. He's a growing player though and that's where the rub comes in. Teach him a few things and he gets those down he can be a pro bowler perhaps. I could see Evans as a Sam linebacker though. He has experience on the edge and he has violent hands to deal with blockers. He adds some value as a pass rusher. I just think guys like Leonard, Warner, O'Daniel are equally athletic to these two guys and can be had between 2-4. -

Keep our picks, draft Kyle Lauletta?

NO. I'm going to the prom with the girl I consider a 10, not the 6 who I settle for because I know I can get her anytime.
