College Wentz = Championships and WON games; never mind his last season he only played 7 games. College Allen = No championships; struggled against Secondaries in his conference with no NFL talent, but it's his WR's fault. Plus low completion percentage. you can post all the numbers you want. I've watched the tape. Timing and anticipation is not there with him. With Wentz it was. I'm not going to even get into all of this. It's been discussed repeatedly. Allen is not the prospect that Wentz was and the comparisons really need to stop. Now that we are stuck with Allen I'll hope for the best, but I do not feel good about selecting him at all.

I'll give it a B for now. Allen I'm just not happy about it. He might turn out to be OK, but it just seems like a major uphill climb. Edmunds has nice athleticism and we'll see how he fits in the defense. I'll be excited to see what we do in round 3. Would like James Washington or Miller from Memphis and an Offensive Tackle.

RD 1, Pick 16: Tremaine Edmunds OLB - Virginia Tech

This pick I like on paper. I don't know how he'll transition. The other pick I just don't feel good about. -
Just stop it. Wentz lit up his conference in college and that translated for him in the league. Allen has lit up NOTHING. NOTHING. He struggled against guys that are going to be doing what you and I are doing, namely, watching football from the couch. That's why people are so concerned with the pick.

Just expressing a feeling. I'm not happy that Allen is the pick. I don't know how he'll turn out but right now I'm not happy with the pick at all. -
Haven't watched ESPN coverage of the draft in years, like since 2010.

Lamar Jackson says he had zero meetings with Bills
NewEraBills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Honestly, I'm not opposed to Lamar Jackson at in the 12-22 range. My preference first however, is Rosen or Darnold. But I am not opposed to Lamar. -
I said this earlier. I wouldn't be surprised. Then Cleveland takes Allen at 4 just so the blow will be softened if he doesn't work out. But to me if the Browns are taking a QB at 1 it has to be Darnold. I think the Browns have two scenarios on the table. Chubb at 1 and Allen at 4. Or just take Darnold at 1.

What's crazy is he said he met with the Bills at the Combine. Those words came out of his mouth LOL at the Combine -
Interesting Take From QB Guru on Allen
NewEraBills replied to Da webster guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My thing with Allen and the talent reason (except the offensive line) is straight up nonsense. Here's the thing, even without top WR talent it's not like Allen was facing top DBs and secondary's in the MWC. So he should have lit that up one would think. But he did not. Things got worse when he played against power 5 schools. I don't know what Allen will be and I don't know the improvement, what I do know is this reasoning that he had bad WRs is terrible reasoning. Maybe they were bad, but the DB's in the MWC are not going to be playing in the NFL either so why when you look on film he's not doing better against these guys? -
Bills 2018 Mock Draft Watch

Ughhh if we couldn't trade in front of the Phins to get Rosen over Allen I'd be sick. -
He won big games against good competition though, Allen has not. Favre won against Bama, Auburn, Georgia and he was at what was considered a small school. What exactly has Allen done against good competition? Btw, I'm not taking shots at Allen, my critique is of your argument. Secondly, this guy that you posted stats for was in the Heisman race going into his jr year but got in a car accident and had to sit out that year. Has Allen ever been considered for the Heisman? The only thing that is similar are comp% numbers but they do not indicate the entire story. Same thing when people point to Kelly's college career. Sure the numbers might look similar but here's the thing, Kelly played in big games, WON some of them against top competition at the time. You can say none of this about Allen. Again, I'm not throwing shade at Allen, it's the argument that I find faulty. I wouldn't mind Allen at 12. Don't mind him at 12.
