  1. It's a sad situation but this Is your fault LOL. I couldn't help but laugh at "dead one" knowing that it's more than likely true
  2. All the Darnold workout means at this point is due diligence and leaving no stone unturned. It doesn't mean a deal is in place.
  3. If it was not clear prior to Incognito, it is clear to me now. This is a team in rebuild mode. It does not matter how they choose to rebuild. BUT, since this QB class is a deep one it is best to grab that player now than to wait. All I will say is whoever the starting QB ends up being, I hope he has a big-time insurance policy. Castillo and company are not going to do him any favors.
  4. Whoever our QB is, he's going to be in trouble.
  5. Ohhh Great. Ragnow better definitely be in play now.
  6. Just to open, I'd like to say I'm all for getting a QB. No doubt about it. But Manning did not lead the Broncos to that SB victory. He was on for the ride and made sure the offense did just enough. Wade Phillips and that defense carried that team. I believe in getting a QB for us, but I also have to give defenses credit when they are due it and that Broncos defensive unit carried them to a championship.
  7. The Ravens are bringing him in for a visit. I think they are after a QB post-Flacco.
  8. What does elite arm strength even mean? If it is what I think it means then it is overrated to a degree because guys like Brady, Brees, Rivers do not have it. Ok Rogers probably does, but it doesn't appear to be something that is needed to excel at the NFL level. I just wonder what the language means. I know what it attacks, for instance, a guy like Chad Pennington who did not have a lot behind his passes, but even he had his time and some success. What does elite arm strength mean?
  9. I'm not an expert, but I have to ask who writes these? I mean from what I've watched given his penchant for fitting the football into tight windows arm strength and anticipation are not even questions. To me there are really only two questions on Rosen. 1) Durability - which technically is a question that can be discussed about all of the QB's coming in. 2) The media-driven question about his coachability and leadership which probably is not even true. I have no questions about his passing ability, processing and diagnosing what's in front of him, and his anticipation. Not sure where that came from at all.
  10. This is why I said you play tough ball with the Giants. You let them know hey, we've scouted all the QB's. Sell it that we'd be happy with either. We can make a deal with Cleveland at 4 and be happy with who we'd select there. It's up to you guys honestly. We have a price, we can up it a little. You can accept it or we'll just make a deal with Cleveland. We'll still get either Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield or YUK Allen hahaha.
  11. I hear you. But we can't be afraid to take a shot just because something didn't work out for ANOTHER TEAM.
  12. We actually agree. Take the shot now.
  13. Just to play the advocate, there are some balls you shouldn't chase anyways because not all of them are hittable. But I agree, step to the plate, and swing away at YOUR PITCH. Don't swing at any and every pitch.
  14. Ordinarily, I would agree, but we have plenty of draft assets to build even with giving up 12, 22, and next year's 1st. We still have a great deal to work with. I was happy to break the playoff drought. Now we must break the lack of stability at QB drought. I believe in price points but you have to extend a little. I've seen great Ravens teams like the 2006 team. The defense was insane, but guess what? They discovered that the SB year with Dilfer was an anomaly. They searched for immediate upgrades, Grbac, then they went to the draft with Boller, then Anthony Wright because Boller was not getting it done, all the while, they had great defenses, strong rushing attacks but guess what, no matter how hard their defense played to keep them in games, because they had no stability at QB this is what ultimately lost all of those great defenses games. You have to have stability at QB. And in this era you are going to have to pay for that stability if you want to win. They made the playoffs but they couldn't win against Big Ben, Manning, Brady. Then some Flacco kid comes along and manages games for them and they stay in the playoff hunt until they win it. Now even they are looking for a QB because they overpaid the one they had. But it's not like they had a choice. The team would rather have a QB then to land in QB limbo. Limbo is where the Browns have been for 22 years. Get the best QB you can get even if you have to overpay a little bit. Just get this over with and get it out of the way. I don't believe in overpaying to where you can't do things later but we will be in good shape in other areas later. Get the QB. Do things right the first time, even if it hurts a little bit. Do it right the first time so you won't have to keep doing it. At least that's the hope. LOL I'll be honest, I don't think you build a team through FA. You build through the draft. That's just my approach. But to be clear, I disagree with the OP. Get the QB and get it out of the way if you can.
  15. Now if we are keeping 22 then fine. My initial suggestion was giving 12, 22, and ultimately next year's 1st up. To me, anything more than those 3 picks and I'd think about walking away. Ok, a 2020 3rd to sweeten the deal. How is that not enough?
  16. That's not the case for me. The way I figure it we are not going to win the division until Brady is out of NE, which is why I think it's a good idea to take a swing. But, if we are using baseball as an analogy when you swing, you are swinging at certain pitches. What kind of pitches are being thrown? You don't swing at every pitch. Good batters swing at "their pitch(es)". They don't swing just because the pitcher is pitching. Batters that do that tend to strike out. Ultimately, the analogy serves as a lesson to know what your pitches are, in this case, options are, and swing at your pitch(es). Don't go chasing the pitches that the pitcher wants you to chase because he's trying to strike you out. In saying all of that, I understand, this is a rebuild and you have to have a franchise guy. Whoever we get we'll be told it was their guy, EVEN if it was only one of their guys in reality.
  17. I look at that and get sad. Why can't 12, 22, and next year's 1st be enough? Who has even offered what I'm suggesting in any year? Ok let me not think about the picks for a second. 3900 points. Let's reflect on just that. See I look at your willingness to offer 3900 points but not 4000 as mere pettiness. It's only 100 points so why not just give up 4000 points if you are willing to give up 3900. If the pick is a 2600 points value, I'd say ok my negotiated spot starts at around 3100. I'm willing to go up to 3600 but after that, we are getting into foolishness IMO. In other words, I'll start the bidding at 500 over. I'll give you that. But I'm only willing to go 500 more. If you really want to move take it or leave it. Like I said, I scouted other QBs and to be clear I look at this like dating women and choosing one. It is certainly the case that while I chose one, I could have also chosen another one because they had great qualities too.
  18. The Rams, Eagles did not give away 3 first round picks. I'm saying I'd give 12, 22, and next year's 2 as an initial offer. That would be my first starting price knowing that I'm willing to give up next year's first. But if he wants something more than that, then 12, 22, and next year's 1st then the deal is off. I don't care what the Jets did. That's them.
  19. See to me, you don't just let them set the price. You see what they want and how far it is away from what you set as your initial price. Then see if you can meet in the middle somewhere. I look at it like I'm on a car lot. I never pay full price for the car. Never. I tell the guy look, here is the window sticker, here's what I'll pay you. I think it's a fair deal. Then he says, well we are 8k difference, then I say I'll tell you what, I'll pitch in another 3k, take it or leave it. I haven't found a car salesman who'd turn it down yet. I've owned 5 automobiles. To me this is the same thing. How well do you negotiate from your price? How well do they negotiate from their price?
  20. I agree, I'm all for getting a QB but we have to have our price. There are guidelines out there. Sure, we can go over the guidelines a little, but if they are asking us to bend over they're crazy. Definitely, take a swing at a QB you want, but everything must be done according to some guidelines or else relationships can go bad.
  21. And I honestly have settled on it. I'd do it. But anything more than this the deal is off. I'd let the Giants get on the clock Thursday the 26th and see what they really want to do. We've already scouted other QB's. Accept this or we'll draft another guy. Even if we send the picks to someone else. To me, it's that simple.
  22. Not a fan of this entire mock LOL. I see nothing in it that says the team is better.
  23. If they do then we've already scouted other QB's. That's how you sell it. Hey man, I really want to make a deal with you as you have expressed interest in moving, but I've scouted other QBs so I'm not pressed. This is not about the player's worth so much as how good you are at playing poker and winning.
  24. I don't think you'll have to worry about Gettleman helping the Patriots, Cowboys, Redskins, Eagles, and Broncos. Also, IF the Giants want to trade the pick as I said before, make them sweat on it to lower the price to where you are comfortable with it. Force them to either stay and pick a player or make the trade. If they really want to move and we really want to move, we'll meet on a price. This is not a game about letting them set the price. Neither is it a game about well the Jets did this. Yes they did because they are stupid LOL.
  25. To add, even when he had the talent there the previous year on the OL, he still was getting pressured so I just find the idea of him losing talent is more of an excuse rather than an argument as to why his completion percentage is so low.
