  1. Not quite buying the "If anyone CAN, Peterman CAN!" hype. I would like to see if he CAN chunk it 40 yards with accuracy to his own team mate, if he CAN take a body slam like a man, if he CAN throw a quick out to his own team mate, if CAN throw it with touch to a crossing running back, and if he CAN handle a blitz. If he CAN do these then he'll fit the mold of a guy named Joe Cool Montana, who wears a size 42 gold blazer. Of course, he'll need a receiver who fits the mold of one Jerry Rice.
  2. Nate ain't trade bait. He showed again tonight that he throws quickly, throws guys open, and knows where to throw it Isn't this the profile of a quality QB??
  3. Many good points here. Buffalo will have a downtown stadium by 2025. The team will continue to be housed at the OP site. There are enough deep pockets in WNY, Rochester, and Ontario to give the NFL the revenue stream it expects. However, I don't think a new stadium closes out people who only want to pay $100 or less for a ticket. In Atlanta, they have a jewel, but there are still a high percentage of cheap tickets. They have never known how to tailgate there, so they don't know any better. Also, the stadium downtown has not brought life there. People get outta there asap. Buffalo has a sense of community, and could be drawn downtown even more. I agree Buffalo would lose the table crashing and good times in the parking lots down town; however, Buffalo's sense of community would still find a way to make it fun. Go Bills!!!
  4. Yea, everyone is saying the Peterman has a noodle arm, but his legs really didn't get set on that play. I want to see his zip in pre-season to see if the off-season program helped him. I like his quick release, and I like his football cognitive mindset. He's not afraid to throw it. Regardless of what the haters say, we haven't seen enough plays to write him off. The coach's must see something, because they've could've let him go and no one would've questioned it. I bet we could name a dozen great QBs with average arms (Montana, Griese, Tarkenton come to mind). Let's see how he plays in August.
  5. Guys, if you figure out what coach means by the process, you gotta tell me.
  6. The clock says crick-crock, or is it crick is crock??
  7. I don't know Shady personally, so he gets benefit of the doubt. There's a whole lot of doubt here. Like the guy who was accused of the ATL Olympic bombing, there may be many who have to apologize. I know these pro athletes run on a fast track, and many "associates" would envy his success, and try to smear his rep. Let's see what happens. I see the Bills at 7-9 with Shady, and 5-11 without him. I prefer the latter record really.
  8. As OP, let me clarify that I don't think that mindset has anything to do with intellectual ability. In fact, I don't think you have to be an Einstein to be a great QB. There are many examples of this. I don't know if Brady has a high IQ. I do know that his mindset is to throw the dang ball in 2 secs 90% of the time. I don't think that TT was coached this way, or Peterman. I think that Josh should be. I think that Brady is committed to throw on his first step away from center. I think his offense is designed to move the defense away from his primary guy. Belicheat's defensive mind helps Brady with the mindset of commitment to throw because he knows how a defense will react to his offense. He is the real Einstein in the room. Again, I think TT and Peterman were coached to go throw the progressions after the snap, whereas Brady does it pre-snap. Of course, Brady playing is the same scheme for a decade allows him to do things others can't. Montana was another guy with the same mindset. I just hope Josh is coached to get the ball out fast, instead of going through the progressions.
  9. Mindset of commitment to throw the dang ball in 2 secs should be action step #1 under the "process" strategic plan. As with all good action steps, it is SMART and measurable. Git er done!!!
  10. Agree that he knows where the ball is going before the ball is snapped. I want Josh to be coached this way. We heard a lot about teaching TT to go through the progressions before throwing after the snap. I think that can coach Josh to have the mindset of commitment to throw the dang ball in 2 secs like the GOAT.
  11. Hey Dudes: As the OP, I can say that yall have strayed from the topic. Let's focus on the essential question: How should Josh be coached to be Brady? My point is that he needs a mindset of commitment to throw to the primary guy in 2 secs, which means forget going threw the progressions. I think this is what Brady does, but I could be delusional and talking out of my arsh. Cmon dudes, please discuss without name calling.
  12. Lot of keyboards are hamming out stuff on Josh's accuracy, precision, and completion rate. Yadayadayada. I think it's more about commitment to the throw, which we know TT couldn't get his mind around. A quick comparison to a baseball hitter. I think the best hitters know the pitch that they want from a particular pitcher. They did their homework and knew when that pitch was coming. I remember Aaron saying he looked for a Koufax changeup in certain situations, and just let the curveball go by. I bet Brady does his homework about players and defenses, and before he receives the ball, he knows who he is throwing to 90% of the time. No questions and no doubts. The emphasis on going through the progressions is overrated. QBs who are coached to do this are not successful because that results in cognitive overload. Having the mindset of commitment to throw to the primary guy allows the QB to set the feet and prepare for the throw. All the lower and upper body mechanics are ready. I bet Brady has this kind of mindset. Josh needs this mindset. Brady gets the ball away in 2 seconds most of the time. Do you think he goes threw progressions on every play? That would be heck no. All the other routes are just to clear the way for the primary guy. I hope that Josh is being coached to have this kind of mindset. If so, I believe all of his mechanics issues can be solved. Commitment to throw in 2 seconds without analyzing the progressions will allow Josh to get his mechanics set. Because he has a rocket arm, he will be able to set, throw where the guy is going to be, then off to the races. This doesn't have to be hard, folks. Please, coach the guy to have the right mindset!!
  13. Rodak, podak, modak, blowdat. Josh will be throwing dartaks at targets that will show the world that we were smartaks for taking him before Rosenaks. However, Rodak might have it right, and we'll have to go with Petermaniac.
  14. I say we let the first 3 picks drop. Give the Mistake by the Lake 12 and 22, so that we get Mayfield or Rosen. I would sleep with sugar plums in my head and bells on my toes.
  15. I've submitted on other threads that BB has Rudolph on his mind. We better get him at 12, if Mayfield is gone. Hear me now and billieve me later!!!
  16. Hey OP: Please go hang out outside the OBD fieldhouse, and give him this message personally. Report back. Also, ask him who his QB pick will be.
  17. Yea baby! Don't gamble with our epic draft pics. Let's build a champion!!!
  18. I would agree that 1or 2 but not all; but we don't know which 1 or 2 do we??
  19. I have faith that they won't deplete our draft capital by getting in front of Jets. None of these guys are can't miss. I'd like them to get someone in the 6-10 range.
  20. BB: If we use up our draft capitol on a high-risk rookie QB, we will continue to be beat up by BB. There are no Lucks, Staffords, Rodgers, or Ryans in this draft. Again, hear me now and believe me later, BB.
  21. Hear me know and believe me later: forget about drafting QB in 1st and get some OL and LB studs, and we'll get to the playoffs with AJ. Adults will not wish upon a star. I think we have adults now at OBD.
  22. Does this dude stretch for field for our strong armed QBs??
  23. Rodgers is the only current QB that I would give 5 picks for, which means I would not give 5 picks for any of these rookie guns. If Rosen is still there at 4, I'd give 12, and a 2nd this year and next. No more.
