Controversial opinion: Elam was pretty solid
BigDingus replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm a real Elam truther, dating back to training camp his rookie year. And the truth is Elam is not good. He will never be a long term starter on this team. He's the biggest bust of the Beane/McDermott era, and when he's in the game, you know something went horribly wrong. -
That is definitely the dream scenario, but after the Rams loss & seeing how KC has been playing lately, I pretty much moved on from considering the 1 seed a real possibility. At this point, I'm just looking at best paths to get to the AFCCG, and in my mind, that means avoiding Baltimore for as long as possible. Even if we're a better team, I just don't think they're a good matchup. Lamar & Henry are too much for our D.
-
As long as Buffalo wins just 1 of their next 2 games, it's ok if Pittsburgh wins out. We'll still have a 1 game lead over them.
-
I care more about Pittsburgh beating KC next week to stay ahead of Baltimore in the standings. If the Ravens get the 3rd seed, that means they'd play the Chargers in the WC, then go to play Buffalo in the divisional round. I prefer not to play Baltimore & would rather them go to KC.
-
Exactly what I think. He doesn't seem to let mistakes or pressure get to him, and he's already accurate. Couple that with being a much more capable runner, and he's definitely got a lot of potential.... unfortunately.

Yeah... this game just solidified my fears. It always felt like Allen & the rest of the team chokes against weaker opponents, but then that fear was confirmed when I found out how badly the Bills play any time they're favored by double digits. This game just made it more obvious. It's been that way for years now. Allen comes out flat. The team starts forcing things. Then penalties pop up everywhere. Then the inevitable turnover makes things worse. Before you know it, we're trying to climb out of a hole against a team that has no business being on the same field. And all that against a rookie QB & rookie HC. Ouch. At least we kept our 2 game lead on the 2nd seed, but the chorus for "Lamar should be MVP!" will only get louder. Yeah, yeah, I know... some of you guys claim you don't care about MVP, and that the SB is the only goal. But I still care, and it'll be awful if all this year's efforts get brushed aside at the very end.

And as usual, when the Bills are double digit favorites, they crap the bed. It always happens. -

Just now able to start watching. Was the Allen INT a bad one, or was there another reason for the pick? -

Just like last year, Pats had one of the worst offenses in the league. Then we play them, and they proceeded to put up 29 points against us... -
They're the team I least want to see in the playoffs. I see lots of people claiming "I'm not worried about Lamar, I'm worried about Henry," and hell, I've probably said it too. But I'd be worried about both. Lamar is playing fantastic this year, as much as I hate to admit it. If they hadn't lost to the Browns & Raiders, Lamar would probably be the MVP frontrunner again. Dude is playing at a historically great level in efficiency & will likely finish the year with the record for best single season passer rating ever. I still think Josh is better overall, but facing him with King Henry again in the last thing I want. We match up well with a lot of great teams, but our rush D is our weakest link, and Baltimore has paired 2 of the best rushing threats in the league.

Around the NFL - Week 16 (12/22/2024) (*no Bills talk, please!*)

I've never even heard of Dorian Thompson-Robinson... He played in 8 games last year, but apparently I wiped that from my memory. -
Imagine still believing it's not "manly" for a man to show emotions... Oh wait, I'm sure emotions are approved, as long as you're showing the "right" emotions. You know, like a choreographed dance routine in the endzone or getting in someone's face in anger, or flexing over a guy you just tackled. Now THAT is manly! Football is just a game, but it's very manly to get amped up & angry. Violence is ok, but empathy & sadness? Pssssh... get that p***y stuff out of here! 🙄

Week 16 - Patriots at Bills Game Week Thread (Game at 4:25pm ET)
BigDingus replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know, but when the point is that when they're playing a significantly inferior team that everyone expects them to dominate, they often don't. Not only that, but if you go back further the Bills have definitely had many games where they're double digit favorites & lose outright. That's a sign they don't always take these games seriously or just get outplayed by inferior teams. -
I'm sure someone already mentioned it, but there's one Chiefs fan who comes around that's a pretty cool dude.

Ok, so I just heard in the last 3 games where the Bills were favored by 10 or more points, they're 0-3 against the spread. And... teams after playing the Lions are 3-10 against the spread. Definitely feels like a very Billsy thing to stumble against a team they should just bulldoze. Right now they're -14.5 point favorites. Hopefully we can live up to that & not let off the gas. -
I would pause the game, turn off the TV as he's lining up to kick, wait about 5 minutes, then check the box score on my phone. If he made it, I'd turn back on & watch. If not, I'd already be on here ranting & spamming posts about how much Bass sucks... But there's almost no way I could watch Bass kick a potential SB-winning FG live. My heart would give out as the ball is snapped 😆

Von Miller proves the doubters wrong
BigDingus replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
https://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/story/_/id/42989713/ranking-worst-roster-coaching-mistakes-all-32-nfl-teams-2020-watson-wilson-rodgers#BUF 28. Buffalo Bills Biggest mistake: Signing Von Miller to a six-year, $120 million contract (2022) When you remember that the Bills' 2021 postseason ended with those 13 seconds, it's easy to understand why they went all-in to add Miller. The future Hall of Famer was coming off a wildly impressive postseason run to a Super Bowl title with the Rams, and Buffalo surely wanted a great pass rusher to put it over the top as it tried to figuratively and literally chase down Patrick Mahomes. To land Miller, though, the Bills had to fully guarantee two years and most of a third season at the cost of $45 million. That was a big risk for a player who was about to turn 33 and for a roster that was paying Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs and Tre'Davious White significant salaries. The Miller deal was a Super Bowl-or-bust move. Buffalo's worst nightmare came true when Miller tore an ACL for the second time in his career before the end of his debut season in Buffalo. He racked up eight sacks in 11 games before the injury, but since returning, he has played 22 games and managed four sacks while typically playing about 35% of the defensive snaps. He was also suspended four games for violating the league's personal conduct policy and will likely be released after this season. General manager Brandon Beane struck out with his big free agent swing. -

Josh Allen AFC Offensive POW Again (Week 15)!
BigDingus replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
We can only hope. If there's one thing this season has taught me, it's that I don't hate the Chiefs or their fans nearly as much as I thought. But the Ravens? Their fans are AWFUL & incredibly whiny! Aside from winning the Super Bowl, the thing I want most is to see the Ravens go one-and-done in the playoffs. I'm an S-rank Ravens Hater now. -
Awesome, thank you! So he's 5 away from tying Manning for 2nd place and 8 away from tying Brady for 1st. 22 TDs in a single month is pretty crazy, but it looks like most of those are in October or November. Brees has the most in December with 16, and Josh should definitely break that. It's also cool to see he's already on this list 3 times!
-
Still going Bruce for now. That sack record will be untouched for a long time. But Josh is clearly the best QB we've ever had, so it's just a matter of time + achievements before he's at the top.
