It didn't say he wasn't accurate, he's just not as accurate as some other players, and he's not known for tight timing/getting the ball out quick or throwing guys open. That's all true, and it's one of the reasons why Bills receivers never ranked highly in YAC in years past. That's changed now, but mostly because of all the WR screens. It's not an insult or anything, Josh is just never going to be like Brady with the quick timing routes or have Purdy's efficiency.

Josh Allen Dion Dawkins Terrell Bernard Taron Johnson That's about it. The other players listed are good, but there's others having better years. I think Spencer Brown is worthy, but he's probably not recognizable enough to get the nod over some more well known players.

Maybe not in Buffalo, but I think the smarter plan overall would've been to place teams in smaller markets to begin with. Cities without multiple major pro sports franchises, with the potential to develop passionate LOYAL fan bases, would be better than just picking every huge market with way more things to do. If you're one of the biggest shows in town, there's a better chance to draw & retain interest. College football can pack 50k - 60k+ stadiums in smaller communities not just because the students fill the stadium, but because the whole community gets invested. And I think it'd be smart to choose NFL-hungry markets before throwing more teams in already saturated markets.

I'd like to hang onto him if possible. Everyone already talks about Kincaid like he's an elite star in the league, but a lot of that still feels like projection & what we HOPE will be true one day. We know Knox isn't elite, but he's good in a lot of situations, allows for more flexibility with multiple TE packages, and has come up big in quite a few games. And not having Kincaid last week didn't feel so bad knowing Knox was there.

Bills Also, you listed the Bengals twice 😉 I also feel it's meaningful, but I do not believe "you are who your record says you are." 2022 proved that's not true. We were a better team in 2021 with a worse record. Hell, I think last year's team would've beaten Baltimore in the playoffs had we beaten the Chiefs, and this year I'm not so sure (mainly because of Henry). I also don't think the Chiefs aren't as good as their record says they are, though that doesn't mean they couldn't win a SB.

For me, I'm reminded of 2022. I'm not saying things will turn out that way, but you don't have to look that far back to see when people were saying things like "you are what your record says you are" and hand-waving away the obvious issues. We controlled the 1 seed the 2nd half of the season until the Bengals game was cancelled, and people thought it was definitely our year. I've seen a lot of revisionist conversations around that year, with a lot of people acting like "well of course we were going to lose in the playoffs... everyone saw that coming!" but in reality, most people didn't want to hear that at the time. Again, I'm not saying "this is 2022 all over again!" I'm simply pointing out that it could still go either way. Things that would help convince me this team is different & to REALLY buy in: 1. Allen playing more efficient like at the beginning of the year. He's thrown 5 INTs in the last 4 games vs 0 INTs in the first 7. 2. Defense being able to stop / better manage good RBs 3. Defense continuing to get pressure on QBs 4. Being able to establish the run against good defenses & Cook being more productive overall 5. WRs & TEs making plays down field. We've been effective getting WR screens & short outlet passes going, but it'd be nice to see more plays further down the field open up. The better defenses in the playoffs will look to stop the short game, and we haven't shown that we can punish them over the top. Not all of these things need to happen, but I'd like to see any of them happen when the opportunity presents itself. Like they have a chance to prove #2 against the 49ers & especially the Lions. #1 & #5 would be a good time vs the Rams, Lions & Patriots, as they're in the bottom half of the league in pass defense.

That's the singular good victory we've had, and that was in a wind tunnel. Neither team looked good, but yes, a win is a win. That aside, we've won a bunch of WC games, mostly against backup QBs. Then we choked against KC twice & got blown out by the Bengals. And out of all 4 of our elimination games, Allen only played great once. Every other time he's been average or below average. We need to beat a GOOD team in the playoffs again. The 49ers of years past have definitely accomplished more in that department.

Back during the drought, I would've killed for a 14 team playoff, 7 from each conference. But now? I HATE IT! 😅 Of course, the first year it was implemented was the first year the Bills were the 2 seed (2020), so no BYE for us! And that's come back to hurt us several times. In 2022 when we were in the 1 spot the entire 2nd half of the season & controlled our own destiny (until the Damar game), and again last year when we snatched the 2 seed away from the Dolphins. We're always soooo close to that 1 seed, yet we come up just short.

Has bringing back an old, previously successful coach for a franchise ever helped a team win a SB? The Raiders brought back Art Shell, then fired him after a year. The Raiders also brought back Jon Gruden, but he accomplished nothing. The Colts brought back Ted Marchibroda, and he got them to the playoffs once (all the way to the AFCCG) & was done after that. The Redskins brought back Joe Gibbs, and he at least got them to the playoffs twice, but the other 2 seasons finished last in the division. During the drought, the Bills brought back Marv as a GM, and I remember a LOT of people on the old BBMB were hoping he'd come back to coach (thankfully, he didn't). I'm sure there are others, but I can't think of anyone who actually had more success in their 2nd run than in their first.

Flexing games to a different time slot within the same day is fine. Flexing them to a different date, now during weekdays? Absolutely not. You just screwed over thousands of people who already bought tickets for that game or made travel plans for a different date. But hey, at least Amazon's ratings will be better!

When it's 4th & short, especially on the opponent's side of the field, it almost always makes sense to go for it when Allen is your QB. If it's 4th & inches, he can sneak up the middle or get a tush-push. If it's 4th & a couple yards, he can scramble long enough to find an open man or get the yards himself. He's big enough to take the hit & plow over someone if necessary, and he's just fast enough that he can out run a lot of defenders, especially if they're not coming from a great angle. What hurts us is going for it on 4th down where we take it out of Allen's hands (like the fake punt to Damar). And this is just speculation, but I doubt the Bills practice these types of trick plays & gadget plays nearly as much as a team like KC does. So when it comes to execute in a game, it's more likely to go wrong.

I HATE The Athletic! They're charging me $10 a month for over a year, despite not having a subscription with them! I've logged in to every email I've ever used, and they all say I don't have a subscription. Yet once a month, there's that damn Athletic charge! I know, it's super weird. And I thought he'd immediately revert back after this weekend, but instead he's making the rounds gloating about how right he was on the Bills. Just saw his podcast where he said the Bills are the team he'd least like to see in the playoffs, so maybe he's going to stick it out. But either way, he definitely doesn't like the "Lamar for MVP" stuff. It probably has to do with not wanting Lamar to have more MVPs than Mahomes, but he's been saying Lamar's overrated all year 😅

I agree with that, but the most of the media (with the exception of Nick Wright) seems to be ready to give the crown back to Lamar the second they start stringing together wins again. And if not him, the Lions are everyone's 2nd favorite team right now, so I could definitely see a scenario where Goff gets the MVP if the Lions keep steamrolling people & the Bills lose a couple more games.
