"Usually." Since we're just going to set arbitrary rules, then I guess Joe Burrow is better than Lamar & Allen because at least he made it to a Super Bowl? The problem is these guys all play in the same conference. Brock Purdy & Jimmy G made it to a Super Bowl, yet I wouldn't call them great players. If Allen or Lamar were in the NFC, they'd have made the SB by now. So what other metrics can you use other than "they both haven't made a SB?"
-
They win the game if Lamb catches any of those 3 passes that hit him straight in the hands. It's pretty hard to contain the QB when you're tied up at the line & your coverage is good downfield. We've seen other teams fail to do it with Josh many times over, even though they know it's coming. I agree that they could've done better, but like Allen & Lamar, he's a good scrambler. The Cowboys D held the defending SB champs to just 3 points in the 2nd half, which should earn them some props for anchoring down. I can only imagine how much worse it might've been if Hurts was as good of a passer as Lamar though.

I got you the first time! But also, the topic is about HFA declining over the years & how it effects TODAY'S NFL.
-
I'm not sure how helpful HFA is, but it seems to help the Bills. Granted, playing the 7th seed also helps, as our home record drops to 2-2 past the WC round. But I guess it's still preferable to the alternate, as we've never won a playoff game on the road yet.
-
Well that should be good, because the Bills had way more success in Man coverage than they did Zone against Lamar. Pretty sure Lamar was 12 of 12 against us in Zone & 6 of 13 against Man. Might not be great against everyone, but it's certainly important in certain matches.

I was just wondering the same thing. Did Beane have a chance to talk with Cooper before the trade & gauge his attitude? I didn't get the sense he was putting in low effort in games, but maybe he wasn't fully into everything else. I remember feeling burnt out after years of playing sports every season growing up. By my senior year in HS, I wanted more free time. Eventually, I quit my varsity lacrosse team that spring, just wanting to spend more time with my gf, but I was already feeling burnt out that fall. I still gave it my all in games, but I was slacking in practice & everything in between... Just wanting to do the bare minimum to until game time. Coop might not have been the great signing we hoped, but he did have quite a few amazing catches with us. There's a video of every Allen pass 20+ yards in the air front last season, and though most were incomplete, Coop was responsible for hauling in a lot of the completions. Just a bummer we used a 3rd round pick on him.

The only times we've had success stopping Henry is when they had zero success passing. If we stack the box & sell out to stop the run, there's a chance we can slow him down. But Lamar isn't Ryan Tannehill... he can sling it, or he can just keep it himself. Just like in our playoff game against the Chiefs, had the Ravens continued feeding Henry, they'd probably have been better off (as we would've had we kept Cook involved). But given our injuries + playing nickel D 89% of the time on 1st & 2nd down, it's going to be very difficult to keep him in check AND stopping the big pass plays.

Illegal Streaming Site Streameast Taken Down
BigDingus replied to WotAGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's a commonly held belief because it's true. But if your logic is correct, shutting down Streameast should result in huge price cuts, right? I mean over 100 million people were pirating streams off this website each month, so now these giant corporations will make so much more money & pass that on to consumers! You know, just like Netflix lowered prices after they cracked down on password sharing! Wait, I'm just finding out that Netflix increased prices 3 times in the last 3 years, all while reporting record profits each time. If anything, I'd sooner expect streaming services to blame tariffs somehow rather than lower prices. -

Well darn, I had no idea it even existed. Sounds more reliable than methstreams or whatever the heck I stumbled on a while back 😅 -
Always the best breakdowns. Unfortunately, he has the Ravens winning. Honestly, I do too. The Bills have come out sloppy in opening games. We have a lot of injuries on defense already. Ravens are looking to get revenge & wanting to make a statement (for the playoff loss & for Lamar not winning MVP). Our starters didn't get much play time in the preseason. Kind of an unfortunate game to pull week 1, but it'll be fine either way. Really just want to see them play hard & stay healthy.

"Dawson Knox isnʼt just a tight end. Heʼs Buffaloʼs tight end. " I may be getting older, but I'm still as immature as ever. This line got me chuckling like I'm a 10 year old still 😆

Fantasy Football - Draft Discussion Only
BigDingus replied to Johnny Hammersticks's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just finished drafting my salary cap, keeper league. It's a strange league, we actually draft defensive players & have all flex spots. Team QB: Bills - Keeper Flex 1: Saquon Barkley (RB - Eagles) Flex 2: James Connor (RB - Arizona) - Keeper Flex 3: Josh Jacobs (RB - Green Bay) - Keeper Flex 4: D'Andre Swift (RB - Chicago) Flex 5: Aaron Jones (RB - Minnesota) Flex 6: George Kittle (TE - San Francisco) - Keeper DP1: Myles Garrett - Keeper DP2: Maxx Crosby DP3: Nick Bosa DP4: Frankie Luvu K: Brandon Aubrey Bench: Team QB: Lions Stefon Diggs (WR) - Keeper (Only cost $4 out of $225 budget to keep) Jakobi Meyers (WR) Ricky Pearsall (WR) Khalil Shakir (WR) Jauan Jennings (WR) Budda Baker (DP) I think I did pretty good. Finished 2nd place last year. My team had a bunch of players do nothing during the final week of the season & cost me my championship -
Reminds me of everything else these days... Less color, less personality. Everything is either white, black, silver these days. I look at cars on the road, and almost everything looks the same. Interior of everyone's house looks the same. Restaurants & other businesses are changing logos to make them less interesting. I don't even "hate" these designs, I just look at them & think "yeah, guess I should've seen that coming."

That spelling makes it sound almost comfortable....a head cushion of sorts!

Parsons traded to Green Bay, given $188 million contract
BigDingus replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
And yet they finished 11-6 & made the playoffs. Not everyone gets to play in the AFC East. They'll be better this year, while the Vikings are likely to be worse. Jordan Love was playing injured. Now they just added a star pass rusher. Their rookie WR Golden should also be very good. You may not think much of them, but I believe GB will win the division or just barely be edged out by Detroit. Either way, they'll be good. -

I think it's a bit too early to tell. It's heavily dependent on what they get out of those draft picks. But the Packers believe they're in serious contention, and it's likely the Vikings take a step back this year. They should be competing with Detroit for the NFC West crown, and getting pressure on the QB has proven to be a game changer in the post-season. We tried to take a swing with Von, but it he was just too old by that time. If we had the cap space, I'm sure Beane would've considered that contract too. -

BigDingus replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
I really hope next year there's a way to get us in a cap position next year where we could afford these kind of season-changing deals. The Cowboys were willing to trade within the NFC, against a team they play this year, and get rid of a player that's 3 years younger than TJ Watt. The contract is huge, but just like with QB contracts, it'll only look better 4 years from now. -

Well damn, I was wrong. I was convinced Jerry would hold out & force him to stick around. Sucks that we didn't have the cap space to handle this... -
Given all the jokes in this thread, nobody is going to believe me, but I've brought this up before. My coworker lives across the street from Micah's girlfriend & runs into him at least twice a week. You'd think his girl would go over to his house, but no, Micah goes & visits her place all the time. Only reason I'm bringing this up is because my coworker just saw him again last night. They only ever exchange small talk, and once he autographed a football, but just wanted to point out that Micah is still here in Frisco last I heard. It's also very unlikely Micah is allowed to visit other teams anyway, especially with Jerry acting the way he is. He's going to make Micah play out this contract or agree to the extension terms Jerry already offered.

Allen vs Mahomes, is this a controversial take?
BigDingus replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't think Allen is much better as a downfield passer. He rarely hits anyone in stride, and most years he hasn't been very accurate on deep balls. Sure, Mahomes isn't throwing downfield much either, but I would say neither are very good in that area lately. Mahomes has that Brady pocket presence, where he's extremely elusive & has great awareness. Only difference is he can also scramble when he needs to. Josh is better as a legit run threat, and I think he's also better at making the best of broken plays. The biggest advantage Mahomes has is 1) Andy Reid & 2) he's great at the dink & dunk, finding the open guy who can then take a short pass into a long gain. I do think it's a bit silly how much people downplay Mahomes though. He's not putting up the numbers he used to, but despite that, he's still putting up basically the exact same passing numbers as Josh is. From a passing perspective, his "down years" are basically identical to Josh. -
Probably going to be a Benford situation where Strong or Hancock end up being great DBs as later picks. However, I'm just going to hope it's Hairston, because damn do we need one of these 1st round picks to finally become a major impact player!
