I'm too long-winded to ever say something that concise, so thank you for translating my post 😅 -
Purdy and 49’ers extension. 5 years 265 million
BigDingus replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
Out of all the 2nd tier QBs that got big contracts the last few years, Purdy is the one that deserves it most. Tua, Dak, Lawrence, Murray, Cousins, Love, Goff, etc. all haven't been as consistent as Purdy (and that's not counting the huge flops like Daniel Jones & Deshaun Watson). And that's while getting paid next to nothing as far as NFL players go. I don't think he's great or anything, but given that he was the last pick of the 7th round, he was always going to have an uphill battle getting compensated like the higher round guys, despite being more successful. Trevor Lawrence just needed one decent stretch of games to end a season + a playoff win. He's a 1st round pick & "generational" talent, so everybody was ready to pay him based on potential. But Mr. Irrelevant? He's going to have to do a lot more to sell people on paying him big money. Playing as well as he has, only to be paid less than Trey Lance, Tommy Devito, Joe Milton & Quinn Ewers (who?)... Glad to see him getting paid better. -
I don't think we can glean a lot from schedules given how much things change between seasons & throughout the season. How many times have we seen "weak" or "tough" strength of schedules flipped on their head? Like going into the 2024 season, the Browns were an 11 win team boosting SoS, the 49ers were the NFC champs, and the Cowboys had 12 wins. They looked tough on paper, but then the 2024 season happened. Browns 3 - 14, 49ers 6 - 11, and Cowboys 7 - 10. On the opposite end, people with "easy" SoS had opponents the 5 win Chargers & 7 win Vikings, only for them to be actual good teams that finished 11-6 & 14-3. Does anyone think the Vikings will finish with 14 wins again? Doubtful. Now I know everything people are discussing isn't based on SoS. Prime time games, distance traveled, short weeks, etc. are all a factor. But there's way too many factors week to week to predict very far into the future. I remember when the Jags were coming off the divisional round loss to KC, people were saying they had the easiest possible layup for the 1 seed. They were expected to improve, their division was in the gutter, and they had an extremely weak schedule. Then CJ Stroud came along, they sucked, and now they're back to asking "do we have a franchise QB?" No Christmas or international games is good no matter how you look at it, so I'll call that a win. But when you take into account the random things that happen, injuries, suspensions, or even just bad luck with weather, the only thing I'll predict is 12 - 14 wins overall. Actually, there's one more thing that's for certain - the Bengals will lose a bunch of early games, slowly crawl their way out, then b*tch & moan that they missed the playoffs again 😊

Buffalo Bills 2025 Regular Season Schedule

I'm no Minecraft fan, but that was pretty impressive! And all the jabs at other teams - well played. -
Random talking head says something about the Bills
BigDingus replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have no issues with new threads, just pointing out every single "____ says ____ about the Bills!" thread inevitably gets merged with THIS thread. That's why I gave a heads-up that this thread exists. -
Derrick Henry gets 2 year $30m Dollar Extension ($25m guaranteed).
BigDingus replied to Doc Brown's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm just happy elite RBs are finally getting paid again. People have been treating the position like anyone is easily replaced, yet time & time again RBs come along that prove this untrue. Henry & Saquon deserve to be paid like the star players they are. It's why I'm annoyed that Bills fans don't want to pay James Cook $13 - $15 million a year. After wasting years of Josh Allen's career trying to find a running game, they finally found a guy that can provide one. For a position that's supposedly a "dime a dozen" & easy to replace, the Bills failed time & time again to establish a legit run game. Meanwhile, under-performing defensive players, who were already getting paid more than Cook (despite Cook having significantly higher impact on the team's success) get extended & paid way more. Buffalo just extended Rousseau to a $20 million a year contract... with his whopping 6 sacks a season. But nah, don't pay the guy who contributed 1,200+ yards & 18 total TDs, because he's "JUST" a RB. And this is after Josh Allen's passing numbers dropped significantly, which in turn reduced his huge amount of turnovers, leading to our best scoring offense ever, all because we had a reliable run game. But instead we'll extend defensive players that didn't do jack against the Chiefs in the playoffs (again). You know who DID carry his weight in the playoffs? James Cook. -
This is the conversation I was responding to. "So even if Bishop isn't ready to start, Forrest is still a good option." That's why I stated IF that happens, that's not a good sign.
-
If Forrest leaps Bishop on the depth chart, that would make me view Bishop as another Kaiir Elam. Another early round draft pick getting passed over by late rounders or UDFAs? Not a great sign.

Dion Dawkins new Josh Allen tattoo (update NOT Dion)

Never again can someone mock me about wearing a jersey. "You wear another guy's name on you!" Oh yeah? Well actual NFL players get pictures of each other permanently inked on their skin! -

First things to look for when the schedule comes out
BigDingus replied to Charles Romes's topic in The Stadium Wall
Remember when we used to complain about the lack of prime time games? Now we miss 1:00 starts (12:00 CST). Ah, the bad ol' days. -
Buffalo might have not have much in the way of accommodations & such, but we just saw Green Bay host a draft... Now I know they've got more development in the "Title Town" area around Lambeau, but they basically just setup shop in a parking lot for the draft. Green Bay is even smaller than Buffalo, so there's no way the Buffalo couldn't do something similar. And how nice is Green Bay's weather in April? It's going to be 58 degrees & cloudy tomorrow, with a low of 41. Probably a higher chance of rain in Buffalo, but they can make preparations for that. All that being said, I don't really care one way or another. It would be cool to have a crowd cheer on our picks, but also not a loss if we never host one.
-
Our QB looks more like a TE than our actual TE does... That being said, everyone said he'd be a huge weapon in the slot! But they forgot, most of what we have are guys who would be good in the slot 😆
-
He sucked last year, but is he better than Bass? Then again, I'll never forget that 60 yard game winner from Bass, so I won't campaign to have him replaced by a sex offender.
-
But the injuries are a valid excuse? The bigger issue is they assembled an all-slot receiving corps. Shakir, Samuel, Palmer, or even Kincaid... all work best in the slot. Hell, Coleman would probably have more success there, or even Cook if they wanted. I'm not talking about what position they want these guys to play. Obviously they can't all lineup slot. But all these guys would be good weapons in the slot on other teams.

What is your favorite totally random Bills game?
BigDingus replied to T.E.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
My favorite Bills game was the New Year's Eve Ravens vs Bengals game in 2017. I haven't celebrated a win like that in my entire adult life. I count as a Bills game because it broke the playoff drought. As for least favorite random game - 2007 Bills vs Cowboys in Buffalo on MNF... That's up there with the worst heartbreakers I've seen, despite being an early season game on a crappy Bills team. -
Why Landon Jackson is the next MONSTER in the NFL
BigDingus replied to MJS's topic in The Stadium Wall
I just think people need to stop looking at him like a big time sack threat. After watching more & more on the guy, it seems very likely he's there to help on run plays first & foremost. -

Yes, I forgot about him, simply because we know he won't be healthy for a significant portion of the season. -
Why Landon Jackson is the next MONSTER in the NFL
BigDingus replied to MJS's topic in The Stadium Wall
This video named Landon Jackson the Bills' most impact impactful pick of the draft. Not because of his ability to rush the QB, but because of how good he is at stopping the run. -
According to this random article, it's because Josh Allen's contract is causing problems between him & Brandon Beane 🤣 I can't tell if this is writer is serious or not, but they bring up how in the past, we had a great WR corps consisting of "Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis & Deonte Hardy." Oh, and that we brought in Joshua Palmer & Curtis Palmer. See, it's all Josh Allen's fault! https://amp.marca.com/en/nfl/buffalo-bills/2025/04/29/68113d97ca47419a0d8b45c4.html

49ers sign Kittle to 4-yr 76.4M contract extension.
BigDingus replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
We can hope, but he sure didn't show me anything that made me think he's got the talent to become a TE of that caliber. I think he could be good (certainly better than he's shown so far), but not anything on the level of a Kittle or Kelce. Even if it were just flashes of greatness here & there, I'd be more optimistic, but he's shown flashes of "good" more than anything. -
Good. They need to just resign Cook. It'll become even more apparent after this year, unless he decides to hold out.

Buffalo Bills Consensus Draft Grades
BigDingus replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall
Pretty much how I feel, though I think Landon Jackson is my slight favorite, hoping he can really make use of that size on the edge. Deone Walker would've been better had they taken him later in the draft. I don't think he's very good (yet), though admittedly I only began reading/watching everything I could on him after we already drafted him. -
With the draft over it is time for the udfa thread
BigDingus replied to scuba guy's topic in The Stadium Wall
The way Beane reaches in the draft, he's probably already preparing sending next year's picks for the guy. Would that be a first... passing on someone in the draft, only to then trade away draft picks to get an UDFA? 🙃
