  1. I thought there were only 20 seasons of the show, including this one?
  2. None. If anything, the current roster still looks pretty thin on talent, so they could've cut down to 42 without losing much. But damn do I wish there was a better backup QB option than Mitch... I have zero confidence he can come in & hold down the fort in the case that Josh gets injured.
  3. I'm not overreacting. They definitely don't WANT to have to use him. But I also don't think this shows much confidence in Bishop (or the safety position in general). If anything, maybe Poyer can come in & help teach these guys what an All Pro did to be successful.
  4. Crazy that the Lions have that kind of success with so much cap space still available... and we're dead last in the league lol
  5. Sir, it's "C'est la vie," meaning "that's life."
  6. Don't worry, we only drafted 3 DTs the last couple years & signed another in free agency. Surely, bringing Phillips back is a good sign!
  7. 1) A lazy bum bum asked for a thread recap, as if we were AI just programmed to do his grunt work 2) A wild moderator appeared, questioned his intelligence & assumed his nationality 3) The time-crunched poster clapped back "I knocked up my girl twice in a 1 year span! Ain't nobody got time for that!" and mocked moderator's duties 4) Moderator then told the loafer to go night night 5) Mr. "I can't be bothered to read" couldn't fathom the weight & responsibilities on moderator's shoulders, so he fled the scene... presumably to take a much need nap. Aaaand SCENE!
  8. Just watched the replay & saw a good amount of positive things. But what really stood out was how bad special teams were... I really hope they get that figured out, especially since a lot of these guys will be playing ST.
  9. Bills are pedestrian. They eeked out wins against the Cardinals, Dolphins (requiring a 61 yard FG as time expired), the miserable Jets & Patriots, and the Rams actually did beat us. They lose to a ho-hum, above average Texans team (which is worse than losing to a "dottering" Chiefs team that beat us & made the Super Bowl), Pats, and got absolutely demolished by the same Ravens team you're calling pedestrian. They were a good team in 2024. But they still lost to the Chiefs for a 4th time in the playoffs. Hardly worthy of all the hype they're once again getting as SB favorites. See how easy it is to spin a whole season into something that sounds worse than it is?
  10. Don't want to start a new thread for preseason games, but anyone else surprised to see Mahomes playing for so long against the Bears? Wonder if the Bills will give Allen any reps this last game.
  11. It's going to be sad if both of the Chiefs early pick WRs develop into legit weapons. Rashee Rice looked like he was on his way to becoming a true WR1, while Xavier Worthy was developing into a big home run threat. People defend Beane's early round draft failures saying it's partially because we pick so late each round, yet the Chiefs actually pick later than us. And so far they've managed to get their D right before us, find an All Pro CB before us, draft at least one great WR before us... We already couldn't beat them despite their injuries & missing weapons, or when they had to finally play on the road, but now they continue to add great players & all while staying in better cap shape than us. Beane has had 8 drafts now, and we've only found 1 star player in the early rounds & several good - very good players in the later rounds. But we need more ELITE players on both sides of the ball. The fact this team got to the AFCCG with 1 All Pro is a miracle.
  12. At WR? Yes. Shakir is our only consistent WR, and he's most dangerous in the slot. Then again, so is Samuel... and Kincaid... and Moore... and even Cook 😆 Can we just lineup everyone in the slot?
  13. Obviously they'll get volunteers like they do to shovel snow. $20/hr + free chips & queso. But you have to bring your own water.
  14. Did anyone tell McDermott "you're overreacting, it's just preseason?" Because I thought people were saying you can't read into anything during preseason?
  15. Another former Texas Tech QB, so I'm rooting for him
  16. Primarily due to 17. The defense has been the weak point the past few years. Crazy that "offensive-minded" Andy Reid has found a way to make his defense a strength, while "defensive-minded" McDermott has gone backwards.
  17. And this is why I constantly say I'd rather just invest more in the offense. I don't know how many times I can say it, but spending all the picks & money trying to get the defense right ultimately won't matter as long as McDermott is here. Yes, it's preseason, but this just shows that if any starter goes down (and they will), they have no depth behind them.
  18. Look at the title of this thread. No, I do not expect that, but clearly some people think he's going to be "the next monster in the NFL..."
  19. Guess I'm a negative Nancy. I think there's a better chance Bosa stays healthy for 14+ games than Jackson turning into an elite edge rusher. And Bosa won't stay healthy for 14+ games, so...
  20. Does the NFL still suspend people for weed? Because there's no way Cook isn't high in this interview...
  21. Is this what pride feels like? I still remember getting excited when PTI featured even 30 seconds of something Bills related during the drought, but now we have a player getting national commercials & making the cover of Madden?! It's so cool!
  22. I'm not jumping to a conclusion based off a preseason game though, I'm seeing it as a continuation of the past few years. They don't get a lot of sacks, they struggle against the run, 3rd & 15 may as well be an automatic 1st down, they give up big plays, are often injured, and competent offenses seem to chew them up. A few years ago we had a top 3 scoring D in the regular season multiple times, but then they fell apart in the playoffs, even with much better talent than we have now. So sure, they may manage to be a top 10 unit in the league during the regular season, and even their sack/turnover numbers might look decent. Just saying I'm not expecting too much. We've seen what McDermott wants to do for years now. The best thing I can say about him is he's able to coach up late round players, and his scheme covers for a lot of individual flaws (or at least it did when Leslie Frazier was still here). But I don't think our D is going to ever have a playoff game where they hold down Mahomes all day like the 2023 Ravens AFCCG or the Eagles in the SB this year or even the 2nd half/OT of the 2021 AFCCG with the Bengals.
  23. This "interception" is still one of the worst calls I've seen (7:27 in the video).
  24. Do Jordan Hancock or Dorian Strong count? I know they're 5th & 6th round picks, but one of those late DBs is going to become a starter. I feel it in my bones.
