I think so too, but their defense is even better than KC's. Opponents average 16.5 ppg against them, while also tied for 1st in takeaways (#1 in turnover differential). However, I think our own defense would make life more challenging for their offense, provided they're mostly healthy.

I try to stay chill, but then instantly revert to 13 year old kid after an easily avoidable turnover or stupid decision... I can ignore mistakes or some turnovers, but it's the ones that make you lower the TV volume (to avoid hearing the announcers dissect the play in confusion) that bring up drought PTSD all over again.

Genuinely asking, do fans like that the Bills rely on them to clear out the stadium? Or do people find it annoying that a multi-billion dollar franchise doesn't have any plan in place outside of paying fans $20/hr to do it (then those fans turn around & pay to sit in those same seats they just helped clear out)? I always thought it was a unique & fun show of fan support, but this was the first time I heard a lot of criticism as well.

Outside of Chiefs vs Bills, this is the game most people predicting could end in an upset. And it's starting to make me second guess myself! I still think the Ravens have the better team, better QB, better coach, etc. but the hype around Stroud is legit! Maybe they shock the Ravens and pull it off. Either way, they're playing with house money at this point, so it'll be fun seeing if they can topple the favorites.

Same here. Though it's the next best thing. It would almost completely rewrite the narrative around Allen, turnovers aside.

Main Reason - The Ravens have been excellent this year. They have 8 wins against teams with winning records, all by 14+ points. 1. Texans (Won by 16) 2. Browns (Won by 25 points) 3. Lions (Won by 32 points) 4. Seahawks (Won by 34 points) 5. Bengals (Won by 14 points) 6. Jaguars (Won by 16 points) 7. 49ers (Won by 24 points) 8. Dolphins (Won by 37 points) Sure, there are "Yes, but..." excuses you could make against some of those wins (like Watson was QB for the Browns game, or the Jags & Dolphins fell apart at the end of the year), but you could make the same excuses against the Bills or any other team. Secondary Reason - It's because everyone thinks the Texans are way ahead of schedule anyway, and eventually a great rookie season will stop short of the Super Bowl (since no rookie QB has ever done that). Obviously, this week is only the divisional round, but if you can beat the Ravens, you should be able to beat anyone.

Out of all the things people can rightfully criticize Allen for, this is the only real one imo. And just like I posted in another thread, I can't get it out of my head that 1) Josh hasn't gone back-to-back games without at least one INT and 2) last week he had 0... So history tells us he will throw at least one pick this week. Will it cost us the game? I don't know, but don't tune into sports talk shows for a couple weeks if it does.

I feel the same way, though I think being so much more invested in this game than normal is partly to blame 😅 It's like I'm more worried for Josh's legacy & reputation than I am just losing another game! The ultimate goal is to win a Super Bowl, but I can't stomach the thought of listening to the media & fans of the other 31 teams mock/meme/crap on Allen for the rest of his career (until he gets another shot at the Chiefs in the playoffs). It's also been stuck in the back of my mind that Allen hasn't gone 2 straight games with an INT all year.... and last week he had 0. So that scares me, the Chiefs defense is great, the injuries scare me, the coaching is a concern, and who knows what else I'll find to stress about until game time!?

My gut feeling is pure anxiety. I want us to win, I think we SHOULD win, I think we have the better team, but the thought of a 3rd playoff loss to the Chiefs makes me physically uncomfortable. And it's not the normal anxiety of a potential loss, it's an added, empathetic, more acute stress for Josh & his reputation. We all love him, we'll defend him, but get used to hearing everyone else label him a choke artist. The "turnover machine" moniker is bad enough, but he will no longer get the benefit of the doubt from other fan bases or the media. Nothing he accomplishes will ever be enough, will always be fighting a losing battle in public perception, be ranked a tier lower than other elite QBs, etc... which will affect his chances of ever winning MVP or other accolades that impact his legacy. 😢

You act like he just rode the bench for years & the Bills should've known better. He was a 5th round rookie drafted for depth, then started the final 7 games of the abysmal 2018 season. It's not like they had a lot invested in him, were looking to get better, and took a decent trade to get back a 5th & a 6th (along with a 7th they traded) for someone who had 1 year in the league. And what did Cleveland do with this amazing talent? The same thing the Bills did, staying as a backup for half the season until he got a start in week 9. It wasn't until the following year where he had his breakout year. If anything, it sounds like the Bills did learn their lesson, gave Spencer Brown a chance those first 2 years, then watched as Brown had his best season in year 3.... same as Teller. The Bills also continued to believe in Oliver, despite fans protesting the decision, and now he's proven to be one of the best DTs in the league. They also let a 6th round rookie CB earn a starting spot & see significant play time (Benford), just as they did the year before with their 7th round CB (Jackson). Sorry for the rant, but the Bills DO give players a chance. But there's a finite amount of positions & time available, and you can't let every mid-late round rookie you draft start for 3+ years in hopes of they MIGHT turn into gold.

That's why I like the 90's helmet. The Jets, Pats & Dolphins all had white helmets at various points. The Pats changed to silver, but the other 2 stayed white, so when the Bills went to white too, we no longer stood out as much 😞

Are you saying he hasn't played a single game since he was drafted? I was talking about his career up until this point. Me saying "under performed" was being generous. If you think a CB drafted in the 1st round just last year would only net you a 6th round pick by this year's trade deadline, he MASSIVELY under performed. Even if he had sat on the bench the entire time, most teams would think a 1st round talent, only 1 year removed from being drafted, would be worth more than a 6th.

C'mon... the fact even you think he'd only garner a 6th round pick speaks VOLUMES. He was a 1st round pick just last year! To think he'd only attract a 6th tells you just how much he's under performed, and in such a short amount of time.

Maybe let him punt in a SINGLE regular season game once before starting his career in the playoffs... Who knows how much he's even been practicing. I'm sure he'd say he's been keeping up with it, but who knows? Maybe he has drawn some interest, but he's not on a team for a reason.

If anyone needs to eat crow on Elam, it's me. I'm not convinced he's any good just yet, but he made an awesome play yesterday. Then again, that's how I remember his rookie season too. Getting picked on a lot, even when he's lined up in man coverage (which is supposedly his strong suit), but will occasionally snag an INT in a big moment.
