  1. I haven't had to change a tire on the road since I was in college (mid 80s). About 10 years ago I noticed a tire was pretty low, but I made it to a tire place where they plugged the hole. (I ran over a nail in a parking lot.) That car had a donut, so if necessary, I could have changed it. Many of today's vehicles don't have a spare tire - not even a donut. Our 2015 came with this:
  2. I'd be motivated to play my best; if the team doesn't improve, then I've set myself up for free-agency.
  3. I've never been to Spain, but I kinda like the music. ? Also, no tats and no piercings.
  4. Einstein might have been the only physicist in the world who could have conceived Relativity Theory. Should he have pursued a more traditional branch of physics? If the analysis is correct and the play was designed to go to the right, then that was the first read in his progression. If the first read is open (NFL open, not college open), then you don't look at the other reads. He saw a makeable play and had the presence of mind to pump-fake the CB and fit the ball into a tight window, perfectly placed where only the receiver could catch it. It was ballsy but not reckless. It was a first down play. If it goes incomplete, the clock stops and you get three more chances. Low-risk, high-reward. What's not to like?
  5. Assuming he did have a sense of entitlement, perhaps being dumped by the worst team in the league will serve as a wake-up call. Trading a 7th for him was a low-risk, high-potential reward.
  6. I agree with all of this except trading the other guy - at least not right away. They should keep three QBs on the roster. None of them are taking up a huge amount of cap space. Once the season gets going and our #1 and #2 QBs are well established, it's possible that another team will need a QB due to injury. At that point, they may be able to get enough in return to make a trade worthwhile.
  7. That's what she said.
  8. I think I can narrow it down to 53 by opening day.
  9. I'm using the preseason comments to evaluate the posters, so I can decide whose threads to read during the regular season.
  10. The "share" button should generate a pop-up that asks, "Did you check this on Snopes first?"
  11. Deer are overpopulated because humans have reduced the populations of most of their natural predators, like coyotes, wolves, and mountain lions. If deer weren't hunted, many would starve to death or be hit by cars. Given a choice of death by starvation, being hit by a car, being eaten alive by a pack of wolves, or being shot, the bullet is the most humane.
  12. Ass grabbing is a form of assault. The confederate flag bothers me. Should someone be kicked out of a store for sporting one? Her outfit was less revealing than a bathing suit.
  13. You guys saying she's fat - can we assume that you're all suitable candidates for the cover of Men's Fitness?
  14. No. I find racism unattractive - the eye candy doesn't make up for it.
  15. Based on the context of this thread, I initially read that as "Pubix".
  16. I have no problem with those shorts ... or the contents thereof.
  17. Back in 2005 or so, I took an online class at Northern Illinois University. In the "Get to know each other" thread, a lot of people talked about being Cubs fans. The professor said that she could relate to their pain, since she was a Buffalo Bills fan. I responded with "Go Bills!" and we had a nice conversation about how good JP Losman looked in the preseason. (Sigh)
