  1. Dawkins was good last year - good enough that they traded Cordy Glenn. I'm not worried about him. The rest of the o-line, however...
  2. Phans were expecting a Curveball but Mother Nature threw a changeup. Sorry for those who were going. I've been to two Phish festivals (Clifford Ball and Oswego) and both were a blast.
  3. With blue cheese, of course.
  4. Tell him one more thing: Never take managerial advice from random people on a football message board. ?
  5. Good leadership is somewhat flexible when the situation calls for it. Rigid bosses create bad morale, and that's not good for productivity. People are not machines - treating workers with dignity is good for the business in the long run ... and it's simply the right thing to do.
  6. Keeping in mind that she's a good employee and that someone who's suffering from food poisoning may not be thinking at 100%, I'd go a little easy on her. Ask how she's feeling, say he's glad to see her back at work, and then let her know what happened at the conference call. Point out that IM was blocked, and why, so if a similar situation occurs in the future, she should use more than one method of communication. Teachable moment.
  7. I feel like this belongs in the Gregg Williams thread. ?
  8. The Patriots?
  9. Hank Jr. is pop-country. He never influenced rock. Blues, soul, early country (Hank Sr, Johnny Cash, etc), and R&B were the main influences on rock, so the big names in those genres belong there. But I see your point about stretching the boundaries. I don't think anyone in rap or hip-hop belongs in the R&R HOF.
  10. R&B helped mold Rock and Roll.
  11. "Play it, Steve!"
  12. When a guy in a muscle car revs it up, speeds past our house, or does anything else obnoxious, my wife says, "Itty-bitty penis."
  13. I disagree. It wasn't a steady decline; it was a nosedive. I agree with the rest, though. ?
  14. Yup - that's why I said 9-7 is realistic. Our QB will either be a former backup (like Tyrod was) or a rookie. Either should be able to do about as well as TT did.
  15. Yes, it all hinges on the QB. I agree with the OP that they should start the guy who gives us the best chance to win in 2018, but realistically, I don't think any of them will bring us 11 wins. (I hope I'm wrong about that.) I'm feeling like 9-7 is realistic and 10-6 is optimistic. Josh showed some real talent last week and he could develop into a great QB - he has all the tools, as they say - but that'll take some time.
  16. I realize your comment is more about how long it'll take the Browns to win a game, but I wanted to clear up a misconception about beer and freshness. Beer isn't like milk. When properly stored (cool and not exposed to light), beer lasts for years without losing quality. The whole "born on dating" and "freshness" thing was just a gimmick.
  17. Next year he'll be feeding that same line of BS to another team.
  18. I found it. Watch his throw around the 2:00 mark in the video:
  19. Popularity isn't necessarily a sign of quality. Case in point: The Kardashians are still on TV. Light beer is like sex in a boat; it's ****ing close to water.
  20. I noticed at least one play where a DE was rushing from the right - Josh could see him coming. It looked like he adjusted his throwing motion by pulling the ball in a little tight before letting it go, in order to avoid letting the DE have a shot at it. If I remember it correctly, it was a completion.
  21. Was he related to Susie?
  22. The article said Zay would likely be a featured WR, not the featured WR. Some teams actually have two good receivers.
  23. I've never seen a Bogart movie or Psycho. Until recently, I hadn't seen Citizen Kane, but my son had to watch it for a film class last year so we watched it together. I realize that movies have to be taken in the context of their times, but I really didn't enjoy it. In general I like cerebral movies, but this one just didn't click for me.
  24. Free beer to football fans in bars. I can't see any way in which that could possibly go wrong.
  25. This may not be stupid, but it's "arithmetically declined." My wife used to work for a landscaping company. Employees got a 25% discount on plants. One day, the place was having a 25% off sale, so my wife picked out a bunch of plants and went to the register. The check-our girl said, "OK, you get 25% off for the sale and a 25% employee discount, so that's 50% off." My lovely wife, being the honest person she is, explained that that's not how it works.
