Unless they make a blockbuster trade, I expect the Bills to keep Tyrod and to sign a reliable, experienced back up who will not be competing for the starter role. If they keep Jones, I doubt they will draft a QB this year. There are more pressing needs this year. If they cut Cardale, then, yes, they likely draft another project QB, someone like Webb.

You nailed it.

He's referring to the lies told by Spicer and boss about the crowd size at the inauguration. It is easily verifiable (you could use your very own eyes) and it is false. Sad, though, when factual reality is written off as "liberal bs."

Any opinions, et al, about the assistant hires?

I think it's even worse than you state. I wouldn't include Flacco, Stafford or Cam in the "elite" category though they are the default "franchise QB" for their franchises. As to Prescott, I don't believe he would have had a fraction of the success he had this year if he was taken by the Rams. A team with a top three pick is, definitionally, a lousy team. He stepped into a situation with an overall excellent team. I'll reserve judgment on him until after season three. As to Winston and Mariotta, it's too early to tell where they're headed though I am more confident in Marcus than Jameis breaking out. And Luck just might be falling off the list altogether if Indy can't get its stuff together ASAP.

Pressures, tackles for losses are as important and may be more so.

"A devout Christian..." I remember my uncle and I being accosted on a street in Buffalo many decades ago by a guy who said, "Excuse me, sir, are you a Christian?" and my uncle sneering at the street corner evangelist and telling him, "F___ no, we're Catholics." I consider being a devout Christian to be a serious character red flag. Same for irresponsibly having eight kids. But the biggest reason I would never consider Rivers if I was Whaley is that, in spite of the career-long hype, he is not a top QB, never was, never will be. He's an aging middle of the pack turn over machine with the exquisite ability to screw things up at the worst possible moment. Romo, Rivers, Foles, Hoyer, Cutler...just some of the lads who've won the fickle hearts of many Bills fans. Must be the winter months are freezing brains left and right back in WNY. Lord have mercy. Get a grip, boys, get a grip.

I'd love the first pick'cause it's 50/50 that it would be Sam Darnold. -

Doesn't Whaley have to retain Taylor?
yungmack replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While I agree with your conclusion that it makes great sense to keep TT I totally disagree with your premises. The idea that Whaley is on thin ice and that The Pegs are somehow incompetents is completely the creation of bottom feeding and burnt out local media dregs, amplified by lazy, poorly informed national media. This narrative has infected a substantial part of Bills followers as we easily see on these threads. I see what's been going on with the Bills lately as signs that the dysfunction that's been the hallmark of the organization since Ralph started the franchise is actually being exorcised. I believe we are witnessing a new Bills identity being born. And as with any birth, there is pain, it is messy, it is stressful, and it takes awhile. -

Pride. And if he can get the Bills to trade him, he'll get an even bigger payday. -
Lazy, unmotivated, big mouth players are in Big Trouble
yungmack replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nope, not a union rep or related to a player. But it sure sounds like you are tied to the Ryans or one of the dregs that work for TBN. Or maybe you're one of them (your screen name tips the Baltimore/Ryan connection. Is that you, Fat Rob?) So defensive! Such umbrage! Are your hands shaking? If your reading comprehension was better, you'd have seen I wasn't blaming the reporters for the Bills failures which is a very odd take-away on your part. What I was saying (now pay attention, I don't want to have to write this again) is if you're looking for lazy, unmotivated, big mouthed people in the general area of the Bills, you're more likely to find those qualities in spades among the reporters covering the team than among the players. FTR, I watched the games, watched most of the All - 22s. But I must have been watching some other team than the Bills because I sure didn't see the players quitting, even as the lazy, unmotivated, big mouthed Rex's coaching was destroying the season. In fact, their level of commitment and performance was heartening considering what was going on. The players did themselves proud. How about naming a few of those lazy, unmotivated, big mouthed players, plus the ones who quit on the team? I'm sure we'd all like to hear about them. -
Lazy, unmotivated, big mouth players are in Big Trouble
yungmack replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lazy, unmotivated, big mouthed? I hardly ever heard a peep out of any of these guys much less "big mouthed" nonsense. And I sure don't perceive any of them as "lazy." Watch Dareus in a game, or Hughes or Darby or any of them and tell me they're unmotivated. There are any number of other things you can blame them for but not the things the OP chose to emphasize. There are teams in the league where big mouths, domestic violence, alcohol, night life incidents and such are regular as rain. Really, the Bills have almost none of that. Compared to the SB Bills, these guys are choir boys. -
McDermott in regards to Tyrod
yungmack replied to TallskiWallski83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why won't this die? Move Glenn to RT and he's outta here. I know all the arguments about how the RT is increasingly perceived as more important than ever and RTs are getting bigger bucks. But Glenn's one of the top LTs in the league and he will see the move to RT as a demotion. Expect him to demand a trade or to pout and behave similar to how Mario did. -
You might want to get your facts right before making these kinds of statements. I don't know about Jax but the Chargers have a strong, enthusiastic and long-time fan base. What they don't have is a willingness to underwrite a stadium for a billionaire (the vote requires 67% of the voters to pass the stadium tax). Here are the rough numbers as I've read them: The team is worth over $2 billion. It will cost Spanos $650 million in payments to other teams to move which he could have used on a new stadium; the NFL was investing $350 million in the new stadium. That leaves a balance of $175 million which Spanos, worth nearly $3 billion, could have found in his sock drawer. He could have owned it like Kronke in LA and used it to leverage other businesses like Kronke is doing with the surrounding land. But he wanted the city to pay it. And now he'll be a tenant in Kronke-land, drawing crowds for at least ten games a year...to the surrounding businesses Kronke's developing, putting more money in someone else's pocket. Go figure. Note: The Rams value has been upgraded to an estimated $4 billion since the move to LA. Don't know if that includes the stadium. Still, pretty rich. And maybe a reason Spanos is moving. BTW, for the North San Diego county fans, it isn't really all that far to Inglewood. Think Rochester or Ontario. Plus there will be train service right to the door.

Leo Roth needs to find a new team to trash
yungmack replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've been thinking the same thing and looking for the word to describe him. "Jaded" is a good one. So is "cynical." Both come from too long on the same beat, watching the endless "Groundhog Day" situation with the Bills. It might be a good idea for all the papers in WNY to get rid of the old, "jaded" reporters and columnists on the Bills beat and replace them with fresh ones, ones that would be far less cynical, more upbeat. Ya know, people that aren't in "Same Old Same Old" default mode. -
Lazy, unmotivated, big mouth players are in Big Trouble
yungmack replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lazy? Unmotivated? Big mouthed? I can't name a single player on the Bills that are any of those things. I know you are hinting at Dareus but he is none of those things. Immature and a bit of a knucklehead? Okay. But lazy, unmotivated, big mouthed? I believe you have confused Dareus with Rex, Rob and their Club Bums associates. Or maybe the Buff News reporters. I challenge you to name a single player who matches your description. -
