  1. Oh, man, you're in for it now. Expecting reporters to, I don't know, report, sounds like asking them to get off their butts and do some work. And that's grounds to rip you to shreds. Metaphorically that is because anything else would necessitate the expenditure of energy. Are things really bad at OBD or is that a creation of the local media? Inquiring minds want to know. Don't undervalue all of that. It could get you elected to a very high office. And once again JW proves his worth. Jeez, imagine if there was even one guy like that at TBN.
  2. Looking for a real dumpster fire? Philip Rivers and the Chargers are top o' the heap.
  3. Now, now, Mrs. Sullivan, rein it in.
  4. What in the world leads you to make a statement like this. Has it ever occurred to you that the best way to not only keep his job but to become a "star" GM is to find a coach who does nothing but win? May I humbly ask you to list all the teams that are scheduling Coughlin, Schwartz and Bradley for HC jobs? And if there are none, are all GMs looking for guys they can control? Or maybe, just maybe, no one believes in them as HCs. I don't know. You however seem to. So why not enlighten us as you apparently are part of the Illuminati of Coach Watchers.
  5. From the moment he was drafted, the Bills have been clear they see him as a project, one that would require at least a couple of years. If that's the case, why would they give up on him so soon?
  6. Forget Whaley and the Bills FO, the real "dumpster fire" is local media as Vic is demonstrating. Embarrassing.
  7. Not buying in until I hear it from the man, Jason LaCanfora.
  8. Lynn is not staying if he isn't the HC. Too insulting. Also, he's interviewing with several other teams. Coughlin's record his last few seasons was not unlike Rex's. He also has his legacy to protect. No way he risks his rep with the Bills job. Besides, his wife wants to live in Florida. Tyrod isn't renegotiating...unless it is for more money. In a QB-starved league, he will have several teams bidding for him the minute the Bills cut him and some of them will be much more attractive than Buffalo.
  9. Ryan Leaf 2.0 Guy is nothing but warning signs.
  10. What exactly do you imagine a consultant does? Advise on who to scout? Who to draft? Who to hire as HC? What vets to retain and how much to pay them? Determine the 53? Determine the 46? What else is there? And if your "consultant" is doing all that, the proper name for him is General Manager.
  11. Loved Hogan but too expensive too keep, particularly with the parsimonious Bills passing game.
  12. You are 100% correct. Instead of the PC being about the Bills, the local hack media tried to make it all about them.
  13. I think by now we pretty much can all agree that Rex is a con man who will say whatever it takes to get a job, to win over the fans, to charm the media, all the time fully intending to do it his way in spite of what he said in interviews. I've got to believe he said all the right things to DW about how he'd run things, how his failure in NY was caused by the GM, how he loved the Bills D Whaley was assembling, how he'd run a D that built on their strengths, etc., etc., etc. because all he wanted was a big payday, and a situation where he could kick back. I wouldn't be surprised to learn he intentionally tanked the D in order to be fired knowing he had that huge guaranteed contract. I mean, among the first words out of his mouth as the new Bills coach was how this would be his last coaching job. At the time I took that to mean he intended to be so successful he'd be in Buffalo until he was an old man. In retrospect, it now looks like he had already retired in his mind on Peg's money and was going to do whatever he could to shorten the time he was required to show up for work. A lot of his actions now make sense if that was his intent: getting rid of Schwartz, constantly heading off to Clemson to watch his kid sit on the bench, bringing in a small army of cronies, hiring his bum brother, dumping any number of Bills draft picks, signing what seemed like every available player who's ever played for him on the Jets, dumping Henderson for Reed, going extremely public in his support of Trump in spite of having a largely black roster, a black QB, a black GM and an Asian immigrant female owner, on and on. He must have been shocked that, no matter what he did, the owners brought him back for a second season so he upped his game and it finally worked. Now he can sit back on his fat ass with enough of Terry's money to live the lazy life forever. Nothing but a con man.
  14. On what basis is he even in the HOF discussion? For a number one overall pick, his career was largely disappointing.
  15. Rex-o-phile/Whaley-phobes, please note: Unless you believe Pegs is a liar, here is why Whaley didn't know Rex was fired. After the weekly three-way call, Rex requested a private meeting with Terry about his status where he was told he would be terminated. Let me say this again, REX ASKED FOR A MEETING THAT EXCLUDED WHALEY. At his request, it was PRIVATE, one on one with the owner. Unless DW has a secret mic in Terry's office, how the hell would he know Rex was done until Pegs called him? Because DW didn't know in advance that Rex was going to demand to know his status going forward, or that Pegs would give him an honest answer, the media - local and national - is using this to excoriate the Bills as "a dumpster fire," and to typify Whaley as an unimportant toady. Really? If any further evidence was necessary to prove the local media is a collection of incompetent hacks, and the national media lazy drones whose depth of knowledge about the Bills is nearly non-existent, this should do it.
  16. That's 9 straight wins, with, I believe, 7 of them over 40 points of O. I've been talking him up since the Utah game. Even I could see he's got it. You see those passes where he just flicks his wrist, on the run too and with zip? Oh yah, and dead accurate. Also knows how to "throw guys open."
  17. What's Mike McCarthy's situation in GB? He's from Pittsburgh and has very close family in Buffalo and Rochester.
  18. Right or wrong isn't the question. It's about relevancy and what the fans are interested in hearing, not the personal agendas of the less-than-mediocre local reporters who appear to care more about grinding their wee axes than getting to the news.
  19. Epic fail by the Buffalo media. Proved themselves not only "not ready for prime time," they seem not to know the key questions to ask which might, just might, give their readers/listeners/viewers a coherent picture of where the Bills are now, where they're heading and how they intend to get there. Instead it was mainly about their own bugaboos, grudges and bias confirmation. It was a chance to maybe really learn something. Instead they used it for personal grudges and a chance to "punish" Whaley for apparently neither listening to their brilliant advice nor giving them insider access. For these guys to be considered second rate reporters would require a major promotion. The Bills embarrass themselves on the field and the local media embarrasses us before the nation. Bunch of rubes and hicks representing the B-Lo.
  20. Nice 1066 reference. You know where Hastings St. is in Buffalo, right?
  21. Woo! Striking another blow for reasoned discourse. Thank you for your contribution.
