  1. I think it was Leo Roth. And McD did not seem pleased. His tone of voice suggested it was a stupid question and he'd remember the reporter's name and maybe never take another question from him until the end of time.
  2. I know, I know, that's why that Stephen Hawking guy's such a dummy.
  3. Sure, things haven't been great lately in Bills Land but this is mighty harsh.
  4. Would not be surprised if Sully, Bucky and some of the other nags aren't even called on to ask a question. Graham maybe, JW definetly.
  5. Why do some take it as a sign of Whaley's "weak position" that he and the HC will consult on personnel including FAs and draft picks? To me, this is SOP. How the hell else could you have a unified vision that's coherently implemented unless the "acquirer" and the "user" are completely on the same page? Yet some critics take this as a further sign of accelerating dysfunction at OBD. Wha?
  6. The Dodgers are even more immune than the Lakers. Last World Series win was 1988 and they continue to draw 3 to 4 million a year.
  7. Naw. This is a Raider town. We'll still get a steady diet of the silver & black. Kronke probably gave a huge "Whew" that it's the Chargers exercising the option, not the Raiders. They'd kill the Rams with their crowds. Maybe even literally. In any case, Vegas is an LA suburb. They'll draw "bigly" from LA.
  8. I'm good just as long has he never says, "Obviously."
  9. Boy, that's the real truth. And don't forget TBN.
  10. The head coach should be more like a CEO than a division manager. Beyond setting the tone, the philosophy, and implementing his rules, regs, goals, the coaching should be done by the assistants. All those support services should be under the HC if he's going to be held accountable for the outcome.
  11. For the sake of argument, let's say that losing AW was the key to the D collapse. Seems to me that's an even worse indictment of the Ryan D mess if the success of the scheme depended on a single player. Good God Almighty.
  12. No interest in Sean McVay?
  13. What all this "bet the farm" enthusiasm tells me is that there are a lot of people who have no business evaluating QBs.
  14. This will not work, not with those two personalities.
  15. Kris Kringle. Talk about a guy who's organized.
  16. Schwartz, Pettine, Roman, Rex, Rob...Any of them interviewing for HC slots?
  17. You overlook the fact that Lynn only got the job in the first place - according to one narrative - because Ryan announced he was going to start TT in a meaningless game, putting $30 million at risk.
  18. Hand me the gun, Maw.
  19. Methinks Jimbo will be persona non grata around OBD henceforth.
  20. Have you considered that they might have reached out to him or his agent and been told he's not interested in interviewing for the job?
  21. You have to put that quote in context. I checked it out. Sullivan asked him, "Why didn't you have oatmeal for breakfast," and Whaley said, "I had oatmeal for breakfast." Vic, snapping awake, said, "There's oatmeal for breakfast?" and Whaley said, "I had oatmeal for breakfast." Sully then Tweeted, "What's this thing Whaley has about oatmeal? Why is he so adamant he had oatmeal for breakfast when I heard from an unnamed source he DID NOT have oatmeal for breakfast. Complete dysfunction at OBD." Context is everything, Fergie.
  22. Solomon Thomas out of Stanford.
  23. You are waaaay over rating Rosen. He will have a new O coordinator after the wreckage left behind by Kennedy Polamalu, Jedd Fisch from Michigan so maybe he gets back on track. No guarantee he'll come out after this season unless maybe he returns to form and starts generating heat. I would be surprised if Darnold came out after the '17 season. I think he's planning on three years at SC. But if SC really comes on this year and plays for the championship, he might bail afterwards. If you knew Darnold would enter the '18 draft, I'd cut TT, make EJ the starter, put Sammy on IR, convert Shady to Safety, bring back Rob Ryan as DC coordinator. In other words, do everything to go 0-16. It would be "Suck For Sam" time.
  24. Underneath that happy go lucky demeanor is a pretty good football mind if you pay attention. That's my biggest surprise about him. If he can be "coached up" to pro standards, he just might be a bigger draft steal than Brady. Don't know if that will ever happen but he's turned me around from being negative on drafting him to thinking Whaley just might be on to something.
