  1. Honestly, I'm alright with this. 2023 isn't likely going to be a Super Bowl year, so let's flush out everybody, get a better draft pick, and get a better staff for Josh. Joe Brady was the logical step and nice to give him a trial run here as well.
  2. Every WR has their strengths. Gabe Davis is not great at getting separation ... or YAC ... or route running ... or catching ... Ok, so he kind of sucks, but what I'm trying to say is he's decent at deep routes, field awareness, and blocking.
  3. "Destroy" might be overstated. What I mean is no longer being maximized and certainly not improving. All of the talent in the world and he's getting worse. We can talk about statistics all we want, but the offense hasn't been producing with a quarterback that is proven to be elite. I'm not absolving Josh Allen of any blame, it just seems like basic fact that the current coaching staff has not produced an offense that is as effective as it used to be ... the offense is led by the quarterback. The quarterback is no longer performing at the elite level he was previously known for. Thus, the coaching staff is mismanaging ("destroying") our best asset.
  4. Great point. There hasn't been enough discussion about Josh's turnovers in the media and on this message board and by Josh himself and by the coaches who are both here and fired. I think we're all happy you created this thread.
  5. Love this, but I'm going to need the DT to be undersized. The Corner needs to only have Man Coverage skills. At Running Back, I'd like for him to be mediocre with us, but have success elsewhere. That would be what we need.
  6. You almost hit the nail on the head. Almost! The Broncos loss hurts, but it's the reality check we all needed as fans and as an organization. If this team limped into the playoffs and won a game or two, we might see another year of Dorsey and McDermott. Mercifully, one of them sealed their fate last night and we have to hope the other one did as well. We all want a Super Bowl and the silver lining from last night is we're finally going to get out of our own way.
  7. Very weird time to take a victory lap on an old thread… says a lot.
  8. Scoring too fast because our Beautiful Mind defensive head coach can’t stop the juggernaut Denver Broncos offense led by the ghost of Russel Wilson.
  9. This was my thought as the wheels come off this year. McDermott has clearly lost the locker room. I have no idea how you destroy a great QB like that as well.
  10. Seems like every time we get ahead of ourselves, we get smacked. Yet we still don't learn. One. Game. At. A. Time.
  11. In defense of those people (I'm not one of them), this was a different story 3 weeks ago. Through first 6 games: Sam LaPorta -- 25 receptions for 289 yards and 3 TD Dalton Kincaid -- 17 receptions for 118 yards and 0 TD Their argument at the time was we're not using Dalton Kincaid enough and most would agree that they were correct.
  12. Also exciting to note, as I was researching this statistic. All time rookie record for receptions: #1) 81 receptions -- Keith Jackson in 1988 #2) 74 receptions -- Jeremy Shockey in 2022 #3) 68 receptions -- Kyle Pitts in 2021 #4) 64 receptions -- Evan Engram in 2017 At the halfway point of the season, Kincaid is on pace to break the record.
  13. Out of curiosity, I pulled up Reception leaders this year at the Tight End position vs Targets. The numbers match the eye test. It looks like this: 1. T.J. Hockenson 60 Receptions on 80 Targets -- 75% 2. Travis Kelce 57 Receptions on 72 Targets -- 79% 3. Evan Engram 51 Receptions on 61 Targets -- 84% 4. Sam LaPorta 43 Receptions on 59 Targets -- 73% 5. Mark Andrews 41 Receptions on 55 Targets -- 75% 6. Cole Kmet 41 Receptions on 50 Targets -- 82% 7. Dalton Kincaid 40 Receptions on 45 Targets -- 89% 8. Dallas Goedert 38 Receptions on 52 Targets -- 73% 9. Darren Waller 36 Receptions on 51 Targets -- 71% 10. Jonnu Smith 34 Receptions on 42 Targets -- 81% Very happy that we're feeding him and we should continue to, because his reception rate is best in the entire position.
  14. We're Bruce Banner before he learned how to control The Hulk. We can randomly explode into a powerful beast (Dolphins Game) but haven't figured out how to harness it yet.
  15. Bingo. For those saying it's because Saleh has a love affair with Wilson or because Wilson has some kind of special connection with Rodgers ... lol come on. The Jets spent the 2nd overall pick in the draft on Wilson. He's in his 3rd year in the league. They're giving him a final shot. After starting Mike White over him last year, if they started Trevor Semien over him this year it would tank any remaining value he has and destroy his confidence even worse. They're playing the long game. Ownership isn't thinking 2023 season ... they want to see if they actually have something in Zach or not in a doomsday Rodgers injury scenario.
  16. Sam Martin has been above average overall and that’s plenty fine enough for me. Cutting him would result in almost $1MM in dead cap. Do I want to take that to potentially slightly upgrade our punter with a guy who is currently on the street? No.
  17. Prior to this year, Sean McDermott has done the following in the first 3 rounds of the draft: 2022: Round 1: Defense Round 2: Offense - James Cook Round 3: Defense 2021: Round 1: Defense Round 2: Defense Round 3: Offense - Spencer Brown 2020: Round 2: Defense Round 3: Offense - Zack Moss 2019: Round 1: Defense Round 2: Offense - Cody Ford Round 3: Offense - Devin Singletary Round 3: Offense - Dawson Knox Big free agent dollars: DaQuan Jones Von Miller Expensive defensive re-signings: Jordan Poyer Micah Hyde Taron Johnson Ed Oliver People might want to give McDermott a pass on injuries? Ok ... well the Bills spent a TON of draft capital on defense and a TON of free agent dollars on defense as well. For such a defensive genius, you'd think we wouldn't be ranked bottom in the league.
  18. Bills fans wait 30 years for a great QB to come to town and then want to trade him for draft picks. The sheer idiocy of this mentality ....
  19. I was ok with the "we trust our defense" strategy when the defense was elite and playing bad competition. I was reluctantly ok with the "we trust our defense" strategy when the defense was elite and playing good competition. I am not ok with the "we trust our defense" mantra when the defense sucks and we're playing against good competition. McDermott believes in building a dominant defense and trusting it. He has no F'ing idea what to do when that doesn't work.
  20. I'm so not ready for this conversation.
  21. The perfect way to end the game was Von Miller falling on his face and losing contain on the running back. I’ve never seen a defensive end so willingly give up the edge so often … much less a guy making $20MM+/yr.
  22. The Bills would still be getting smacked even if every call went in our favor.
  23. Maybe it's just me, but I have no interest in burning a 2nd or 3rd round pick on a backup QB. We can hunt for one in the 5th to 7th if a guy falls. If a player's best potential is "good backup" you don't waste premium picks on them.
  24. People hyped up Poona Ford, but the reality is that he signed a 1-year, $2.2M contract for a reason. Linval Joseph is getting paid significantly more than that for half a season. He's a big upgrade. Ford goes back to the bench.
  25. LOVE THIS. People will cry that Beane didn't trade for a run stuffing DT, downhill RB, and LB ... but hopefully we get all 3 back for the playoffs and certainly for next year.
