  1. Simple media strategy. Pick a top 3 QB. Say he’s not top 3 and somebody else is. Get clicks from both fan bases AND the others who think their QB is top 3, rather than the one you said. Its click-bait.
  2. Alright, I tried. This is not a coaching issue. It's a player issue. You don't slide protection away from the best player on the defensive line unless you have to. We're not going to agree on this one because you guys would rather blame coaching and say the Center is irrelevant and all those other hot takes. We'll see what happens on draft day.
  3. Where did I say it was Morse? Do me a favor. Keep an open mind. Watch the last drive, starting at 6:40: 1st play -- 6:40 -- McGovern stonewalled. Morse chips NOBODY and immediately moves to the 2nd level. It's the miscommunication we heard about all season between McGovern and Morse. 2nd play -- 7:42 -- Yes, Dawkins left on and island against Jones. McGovern singled inside. O'Cyrus stays inside to help who? Morse. For those who understand the intricacies of O-Line play... you NEVER want Dawkins singled up on a player like Jones on a passing down. You want McGovern to slide protection left and confidence in Morse to handle his own on the interior. They didn't do that. Why do you think that is? 3rd play -- 8:27 -- Right Tackle and Right Guard singled up. Help on Morse's side again. Morse holds his block (with help), but the right side gets blown up on singles, forcing Josh to roll right and throw the ball away. Center was the weak link last year. You can see this every game. We cut Morse and he signed for $5M/yr by the Jags, who are overpaying everyone. Feel free to argue that Center isn't important, but the money tells you the value of what we had and why we made a change.
  4. This incorrect. There's a difference between sacks and pressure. Pressure is the reason Josh Allen didn't hit Khalil Shakir on the final drive and we had to settle for a Field Goal... which was missed. Pat Mahomes faced 2 QB pressures the entire game, according to PFF. Josh faced 8. Ed Oliver has zero defensive pressures on 13 head to head snaps vs Joe Thuney.
  5. The Chiefs never punted and dominated in the trenches. It’s well known their strength is IOL. They didn’t need 1st round draft pick X receiver opposite their other star receiver. The Bills let pressure up the middle often to Jones. Great player, but had his way with Morse. Maybe we have a difference of opinion, but I have a feeling Beane sees it my way.
  6. I was considering making another thread, but this seems as good a place as any. It's "lying season" for GM's. We've seen Beane lie before about team needs during this time of year. Let's say, hypothetically, McGovern isn't actually planning to move to Center. What's the biggest hole on this team? McDermott and Beane have always said they would "prioritize the trenches." If the world knew that we had a glaring hole at Center, it would put us at a significant disadvantage going into the draft, as there are only 3 top talents at Center (Jackson Power-Johnson, Zach Frazier, Sedrick Van Pran) and arguably only one elite talent (JPJ). Solution? Tell everyone McGovern is moving to Center. What does Beane always say? Look at how you lost the last game of the season and that will tell you your needs. How did the Cheifs destroy us? The most elite interior O-line in the league and a nasty defense. It wasn't with WR talent. All of this adds up to drafting a Center with the 1st round pick.
  7. Bad ownership. The dad is bad but the son is worse. They also have a wrestling league that the fail-son is running.
  8. Contract details are in. Vet minimum with ZERO guarantees. Beane the wizard at it again. If anyone dislikes this deal, given the numbers, you don't know ball.
  9. Lamer than having 95% of kickoffs being a touchback out of the end zone? I think we should at least be open minded to the idea that this might increase the amount of times we get to see an actual play on kickoffs.
  10. His refusal to address the WR position? Did Diggs not lead the league in receiving yards like every year since Beane traded a first and more for him? He only fell off at the end of last year. Did Gabe not just get WR1/WR2 money in Free Agency? Did Beane not trade up last year to take a pass catcher in the first round? Didn’t he take a pass catching RB in round 2 of last year? What world are you guys living in? The draft hasn’t even happened yet and you are criticizing the GM for not replacing NEW holes on the team… somehow saying this has always been a problem.
  11. I really, really hate it when people say stupid things like this. Sam LaPorta was pick #34. Dalton Kincaid was pick #25. Both were very good last year. Let me talk to you about other guys we could have "waited for" who were available by our pick in Round 2 (pick #59). Here are their stats for the entire year: - Luke Schoonmaker (pick 58) - 8 receptions for 65 yards - Brenton Strange (pick 61) - 5 receptions for 35 yards - Tucker Craft (pick 78) - 31 receptions for 355 yards (nice, almost half of what Kincaid got) - Darnell Washington (pick 93) - 7 receptions for 61 yards - Cameron Latu (pick 101) - 0 receptions - Josh Whyle (pick 147) - 9 receptions for 94 yards - Will Mallowry (pick 162) - 18 receptions for 207 yards The rest of the late round guys basically did nothing. SO, tell us again how they could have waited and still gotten the same production.
  12. It's incredible that no matter how badly this guy stinks on the field, people will continue to think he's amazing. 2.5 sacks last year in a full season lining up with Nick Bosa, Arik Armstead, and Javon Hargrave. 6.5 sacks over the prior 3 seasons with the Commanders. 7.5 sacks his rookie year, which was 5 years ago, and is apparently the only thing people remember.
  13. Why get his little brother when we already have his father?
  14. The idea of us cutting or trading him was always fan fiction anyway. You don't cut a good player who's 27 years old simply because he's paid $3-$4M too much. Maybe if you were rebooting your franchise and wanted to trade for a premium draft pick, but otherwise, it's a ridiculous strategy. With this in mind, we shouldn't be worried about the extra dead cap if we cut him in 1-2 years. He will be here.
  15. You're changing the subject. You said Center is the 2nd most important position on Offense and every good offense has a top center. That is incorrect. There's plenty of data to support that it is incorrect. The end.
  16. I can’t believe I’m actually arguing this. The highest paid center in the league makes $13.5M per year and plays for the Chargers. The other top 5 play for the Saints, Titans, Lions, and Colts. The others make less than $10M per year. Are those teams are all elite? There are 13 Left Tackles who make more than $13.5M per year and the highest paid makes $25M per year. I appreciate a hot take, but this one is completely wrong and you’re making it up as you go.
  17. You think the second most important position on offense is … Center? Buddy, have I got news for you.
  18. Great point re: replacing Neal at gunner. Hollins is a great gunner and absolutely will replace Neal. Instead of thinking about WR depth chart, lets think about pass catchers in the Bills offense: 1. Diggs 2. Kincaid 3. 1st round / 2nd round draft pick 4. Shakir 5. Cook 6. Knox 7. Hollins / Shorter 8. Late draft or cheap FA If we draft a legit #2 WR, we're all set. We don't need to spend another premium pick or premium contract on a WR that would probably be the 8th weapon in the passing game. Something to think about in different context!
  19. It's the Jake Kumerow role guys. Calm down. He's a great blocker at the X position and can catch a ball or two. He had significantly better production than both Sherfield and Kumerow the last several years with a worse QB. Cry about it all you want, it's a good signing.
  20. This. He showed some fantastic route running and hands with a competent QB. When everyone else zigs, you zag. Think of him is excellent depth behind Shakir, our new WR2, and Diggs in case of injury.
  21. I hope he stays asleep with the ridiculous values these players are going for.
  22. "This is something I don't understand, so I'm going to say it's a hoax!" The new normal.
  23. Love it for the comp pick. Love it for Gabe. Would have HATED it for the Bills.
