Ok ... well the Bills spent a TON of draft capital on defense and a TON of free agent dollars on defense as well. For such a defensive genius, you'd think we wouldn't be ranked bottom in the league.

I was ok with the "we trust our defense" strategy when the defense was elite and playing bad competition. I was reluctantly ok with the "we trust our defense" strategy when the defense was elite and playing good competition. I am not ok with the "we trust our defense" mantra when the defense sucks and we're playing against good competition. McDermott believes in building a dominant defense and trusting it. He has no F'ing idea what to do when that doesn't work.

The perfect way to end the game was Von Miller falling on his face and losing contain on the running back. I’ve never seen a defensive end so willingly give up the edge so often … much less a guy making $20MM+/yr.

Maybe it's just me, but I have no interest in burning a 2nd or 3rd round pick on a backup QB. We can hunt for one in the 5th to 7th if a guy falls. If a player's best potential is "good backup" you don't waste premium picks on them.

People hyped up Poona Ford, but the reality is that he signed a 1-year, $2.2M contract for a reason. Linval Joseph is getting paid significantly more than that for half a season. He's a big upgrade. Ford goes back to the bench.

The person who replaced Edmunds is Bernard. Bernard has been a significant upgrade. However, you need something to cling to when it comes to Edmunds. So you’re saying that because Milano, who plays a different position from Edmunds, got injured … we’re in a worse spot at linebacker than if we signed Edmunds?? No, that’s absurd. Just deal with the fact that Edmunds has been below average for the Bears and the guy who replaced him is better. End of conversation. No coulda woulda shoulda for different guys who got injured, who don’t play the same position as Edmunds. That’s just trying to salvage hope in Edmunds when the fact remains, we’re all glad his gone.

Why can't we just say "Dalton Kincaid looks great and has huge potential" .... Why does everything have to be "WE HAVE THE #1 GUY EVER" or "WE ARE DOOMED" ... If you always set your hopes absurdly high, you're going to panic when it doesn't meet your absurd criteria and then set them absurdly low. It's a ridiculous cycle and we don't need to do it.

I'll be at Penn6 tomorrow 👍 It's no McFadden's, but it'll get the job done. McFadden's used to be incredible... but I would imagine it was a bad deal for the bar. They gradually upped the wrist bands from $20 to $45 all you can drink and all you can eat wings for 4 hours. Man, those were the days. I went almost every Sunday and it was standing room only even during the drought. Late season, when we were playing for draft position every year you could sometimes get a seat at the bar, but otherwise, packed and rowdy.

Bernard is already a significant update over Edmunds. He has more impact production in 6 games than Edmunds had in any year of his career. How many times did you see Edmunds knife into the backfield to hit a run fit? It's consistent with Bernard and he's better in coverage as well. Dorian Williams ... I'm not ready to say that and probably won't be all year. The bar is significantly higher. Milano is an all-pro and an impact player. Dorian has shown glimpses, but he hasn't had the production yet and it seems foolish to assume he'll be an All-Pro by year end.

We should trade for a corner that has elite traits, but just hasn't put it all together yet. Maybe a guy who had a good draft pedigree but is underperforming ... a first rounder from a recent draft would be ideal. Take a risk and trade a premium pick for that kind of guy because the upside would be worth it. 😐
